Happy with my purchase, thanks for the help of John at the Bristol branch.

Trying to use warranty , car faulty but can’t use RAC warranty without Carbase authorisation. We have been waiting 6 days for approval to actually have the car looked. We haven’t even reached debate of if it’s on the warranty. 6 days with out a car !!!! Customer services is a joke you wait 60 minutes in the phone and they don’t answer or call you back .

Easy no pressure car sales with good and clear advice on financing and warranties for your car / paint / wheels and tyres.

On my test drive the check tyre pressure indicator came on and I reported this on my return.
I went ahead and bought that vehicle and was told there was no issue found with the tyres and the light had been reset but here i am just over a week later with a slow puncture in the front passenger tyre.
I'm sure I would be told it could've happened any time but I'm betting it takes a week to lose pressure again indicating it was just topped up and the light reset at the garage.
So minus 1 * for that.

I purchased a vehicle from Carbase in January, and the entire experience has been a masterclass in post-sale evasion and unacceptable vehicle standards.

The vehicle was handed over in shockingly poor cosmetic condition, covered in scratches and swirls. To add insult to injury, they charged for an expensive paint protection package that was applied directly over these pre-existing paint defects, rendering the protection completely worthless. When I raised the cosmetic state of the vehicle upon collection, I was condescendingly asked by the salesman: "Have you ever owned a black car before?" as if basic dirt, marring, and improper preparation were standard features.

From day one, the parking sensor system was defective, constantly triggering false alerts under 5 mph. Despite taking the car back multiple times; and even having a member of their forecourt team film the sensor actively failing. Their service department refused to honour the warranty, handing the car back with an invoice stating "no component fault found." There was also immediate suspension replacement required, and luckily this was dealt with.

But sadly, the vehicle was sold with pre-existing, masked structural damage. An independent specialist technician subsequently inspected the front alloy wheel and refused to touch it, documenting a "poor previous repair" where non-standard paint had been used to conceal underlying damage. That exact same wheel has now catastrophically failed an MOT on a major structural crack, rendering the vehicle completely unroadworthy and dangerous.

Carbase has completely washed their hands of the situation, ignoring valid statutory concerns and refusing to put things right. I have been forced to formally reject the vehicle and escalate the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Selling a vehicle with poorly masked structural defects, failing to honour warranty obligations, and treating legitimate safety concerns with total indifference is unacceptable. Look elsewhere if you expect basic roadworthiness, proper vehicle preparation, or aftersales care.

All that said, Emily is lovely, helpful and supportive, but her hands are tied by the rest of the business

Customer service was mediocre, sales person sounded frustrated with any questions or explanations she had to answer. Dealership refuses to accept third party finance companies despite offering significantly higher rate finance than what is available elsewhere. Online signature documents do not make sense. Overall too many hoops to jump through considering we are the customer.

Bilal was really helpful and let us look at a few cars. Test drive straight forward to organise. Explained additional products but not pushy

After my second visit to Carbase and browsing the vehicles they had to offer, I purchased the vehicle I wanted with no feeling of being rushed into it, Joe and the team were very helpful and there was no pressure on selling, you pick a car tell them what you require and can afford they are very transparent, on leaving with my new car I had a welcome pack which I was surprised in getting. Would definitely recommend Carbase on anyone thinking of buying a new vehicle.

I was dealing with John at the Bristol branch and he was amazing. So helpful, went through everything in so much detail and really helped me. This is my second tome coming to Carbase and I wouldn’t use anyone else now.

The sales team when buying my car was great, had a problem with software after few days and they got it sorted with paying for myself to go to a company in my area, could not fault them. But now it’s a complete different story. I have been ringing every day, sometimes twice a day for several days waiting for a call back about my car, I ring sales as I wait on hold with aftercare and then after 30 minutes you get a robot talking and it won’t let you go any further.
I can not drive my car because I don’t want my children in it because it’s not safe as I have told the staff members I have spoken to, so not having a car for this period of time with it not being my fault the reason why is not good. I don’t know what else I can do and I am polite to them as I don’t believe in being rude, gets you no where but I’m at the point now where I am stuck with no car and not sure what else to do

Went to carbase with a budget, had a sales man ( joe) very helpfull, very patient with myself, found a car, was near on budget, made prosses very easy and the overall signing with Alistair was straight forward, will definitely be bk in 5 years.

Even helped us get a good price for our trade in and the new care was exactly as described as we came down from Glasgow to Bristol to purchase the car.

Neil was extremely efficient, polite and professional. He didn't force me to pay for any irrelevant add-ons and he was entirely honest with the status of the car. I will seriously consider returning to Carbase Weston if I need a new car in the future.

I reserved my new car before it had been prepared and asked for it to be relocated from Lympsham to Bristol. Carbase made the process incredibly easy, with excellent communication throughout. The entire transaction was smooth, efficient, and stress-free.

Ray made the process very easy and smooth.

After finding 2 Kodiaqs I liked, I booked a time slot to see and test drive the car. Upon my arrival I approached the receptionist to check-in and a received a total apathetic treatment from her. Not bothered by it, I went on to wait. When called in by the sales man it went all fine. However, I could not test drive the second car I was also interested in, fine, it is there policy not to test drive 2 cars in one appointment.
Upon arriving eraly next day (Saturday at 8:45) to avoid the crowd and being able to test drive it without an appointment, I was put on a list for waiting.
During my 1 HOUR WAITING TIME, I kept on looking for other vehicles which I might like. I found one, called the dealership, arranged to go, see and test drive it, and left. No further attempt to contact me was made by Carbase. I could see clearly many sales people walking around, chatting in groups, going for a coffee, on their phones, doing anything by taking care of waiting customers.
They have literally lost a sale (surely many others) due to total lack of care.
I hope it helps someone to save the headache from dealing with them.
