Goods were faulty, have tried twice to get a refund NOTHING !! WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING THIS SITE TO ANYONE a rip off

I always look out for a bargain as everything these days are so expensive, I like to be clean & Clearance XL has had a couple of bargain buys regarding antibacterial wipes so I bought quite a few at a very good price that I could afford, looking forward to checking out any more bargains from your store, thank you.

Ordered alot of goods turned out to be a scam. Don't buy from them

No one responded to my emails and still haven't. There was no way of telling what sizes I needed so I got a 2 boxes of sizes I couldn't use and had to give them away. Complete waste if money, very disappointed. Never again!

The website is good but a bit too busy with too many adds which are distracting. The range of food items is relatively small and prices vary. I like the healthy foods rather than the junk food and am happy to but food past its sell by date. My parcel was well packaged and arrived in an acceptable time with some items that I have really enjoyed. With the cost of living bargain items are appreciated as well as reducing landfill from unsold food. Because of postage costs I feel that I need to save a lot of money on the food and buy enough to make it financially worthwhile.
I shall be very happy to use the site again

Great box a massive selection of all sorts of goodies, great for trying new things

I was sceptical from past reviews but I am pleasantly surprised, I ordered the xl mystery box.

XL is definitely accurate there was so much stuff from whole case of Powerade to whole boxes of crisps, jelly’s, cakes, cereals ect…

Yes some items are past sell by date but I think that’s personal preference I don’t have an issue with that, all the food is perfectly fine nothing was off or mouldy completely safe to eat, plus it states on website that items may be past sell by date so you know what your getting.

I can’t comment on delivery as I made an error so it was late but a lovely guy Paul messaged and sorted it out and I received it really quickly after that.

In all if you’re ordering for a bit of fun or you enjoy a mystery box and don’t mind sell by dates I would highly recommend you get so much for your money!

If your ordering expecting a weekly shop next day delivery better to go to supermarket

There were food items in this box that were dated a few years ago, a few bread items added too which were completely out of date. There was nothing from this box that was of any help at all. I threw it all away. One would have expected more recent dates on the items but as mentioned use by dates were exceeded by months and in some instances years.

Very poor items received. I have given them straight to a charity shop. Perhaps I should have said that I donated then and have not been informed as to weather the item will be sold.

I got the cost of living mystery box. I paid extra to have it delivered in 5 working days. It was ordered in the third week of August and arrived on 17th September.
The first things I saw in the box was bread - loaves of it. There was also a case of plastic cups of water. I use a refillable water bottle and buy discounted bread at the end of the supermarket day so these did not represent great value for money.
There were a few interesting items in the box - soup flavours I hadn't tried before including a pouch of Thai soup.
Over all the box was a bit of a disappointment and I won't be a repeat purchaser.

As you can see from the below response - this company thinks its okay to send customers 2 years out of date egg-based product on the basis that its 'best-before' and not 'use-by'. How can you possibly say that the use-by would be 2 years, nearly 3 years outside of the 'best-before' window.

Also, how have you replied to emails multiple times when the previous response to the review was that you cant see any emails? I've forwarded them multiple times, no response.

I am okay with food outside of the best-before, and have ordered from other companies who do so many times. But this was excessive, the mayo and ranch had visibly seperated and had gone bad. The Jelly had turned to water, the crisps were wet and soggy. It's just not acceptable business practice.

I have provided a review below as I was sent mayo and French dressing from 2023 that would have made me very very sick, as well as a number of other items with egg and perishable ingredients years out of date.

Contacted multiple times, they even replied to my review but won't reply to emails.

I will keep posting until I receive a reply via email.

Very good items just very slow to dispatch toke from 9th August till 5th Sept to get items I really needed for half term to feed my little boy this company used to be brilliant years ago when my girls were smaller as a single mum it's not good to get things on time you need them

Ordered with them order number: IN57687 .I had one tin of luncheon meat that was open and a box of rice Krispies with its lid totally missing and contents all out in the parcel. I sent an email via their website asking for a refund for the rice krispies and had no reply I can also supply photos to back up this review. So today I tried phoning them on their contact number which can be found via Google search.The phone was picked up twice and every time all I could hear was breathing and no reply despite me repeatedly saying hello. So I'll be blunt with this and from my own very unsatisfying experience I'd recommend Avoiding them ..I've used many best before short date and out of date websites. Low priced food,Approved food and cheapfooduk and never had this kind of issue. As a further update to this review I can also state yet again that I do have photo evidence of my order and the issues as proof, I wish trust pilot would allow reviewers to submit photo evidence as well. Since this review clearance XL has requested my contact details. However I do not forsee a resolution as this has been far from well dealt with so far .

UPDATE SINCE THIS REVIEW WAS PUBLISHED. Clearancexl have not reached out to offer to refund the items damaged or even ask for my photos which I have. Instead they are more worried about me publishing their owners name and customer telephone number on this very review and have such had trust pilot ask me to remove their name and contact details. I hope the red flags noted by my own use of their very under par service is noted for other users to be aware that you should maybe avoid them. Also as further information to my order I also ordered on the same order 2 litre bottles of Pepsi, the contents were quite flat and with a twangy taste, usually a sign that they're being sold too far beyond their best date. I don't know what's happened to this company as many years ago they used to reliable and this kind of drop off as also mentioned and shown evidentially by other reviews is pretty disturbing.

As you can see by their reply they state regarding having not received any email correspondence from me regarding my order all of which I have proof of photos and email screenshots.Your need to try and insult "are you trying to reform us" and trying to have digs at my intelligence is also rather peculiar at best. You did not attempt to reply customer emails such as my own. You're also are telling falsehoods about targeting staff publicly.
Your customer service/company telephone number is on Google for all and sundry to find. If a customer politely saying "hello hello hello" down the phone whilst someone just sits on the other end breathing without replying is considered such,then that is quite honestly ridiculous, after all what is a customer supposed to do when you don't reply to their emails? You're trying to insult me on trust pilot yet you're the one with the 2.6 star average reviews. Quite ironic really.

Good value, saving the planet by buying excess food that would go to a landfill

This is a total scam. I didn’t receive any email confirmation of order. I contacted them after two weeks of not receiving my delivery and expressed that this is a scam. I received my delivery three days later only to find that all the drinks are out of date. Please don’t buy from this website. I got a code from Wowcher. I will contact them to express my disappointment.

Hi i placed an order 3 weeks ago order is still in progress no communication no email back nothing , so I'm presuming when my order comes it will be no use ,in other words your taking people's money and taking time with order which means it's no use , there could be a reason because your doing this is that the food before it's even sent is absolutely useless so to me it's a scam. Absolutely shocking 50 pound and nothing g still waiting

Mystery box thrown over the garden gate so most items spoilt as many things broke inside the box and I wasn't home for a few days and not aware of the delivery so the box was outside during 3 days of rain and then few days of sunshine, so mouldy inside
