Terrible experience with ClearCheck.
I applied for a Basic DBS and paid £29.50. Within only a few hours, on the same day, I cancelled the application before completing the identity verification and before the application was sent to DBS.
They refunded me only £4.30 and kept £25.20.
I repeatedly asked customer service to explain exactly how they calculated the £25.20 they kept, but instead of giving me a proper itemised breakdown, I received vague answers about “work completed”.
The customer service experience was also very poor. Vicky’s final response was basically to tell me that because I had raised a chargeback with my bank, I should speak to the bank instead. I found this dismissive and rude after I had already tried several times to resolve the matter directly with ClearCheck.
What makes this even worse is that a Basic DBS can be applied for directly through GOV.UK for £21.50 in total.
I would strongly recommend people check the official GOV.UK DBS service before paying a private company.
Based on my experience, I would not use ClearCheck again.

This is a really massive scum ! I happen to make a subscription without my acknowledgement. I was charged 8 pounds for this monthly subscription without knowing the services they were providing ! I became suspicious about the sum of money disappearing from my account and contacted them right away . Terrible experience even without the subscription issue they charge too much !

I signed up to this service in error
I signed up to this service in error. I meant to use the Governments own DBS checking service but clicked on the link for Clear Check by mistake as it appeared at the top. So far I've paid £86.50 for a service the Government charged me £21.50.
This is a massive scam. I didn't even upload any documents for them to process but have been hit with a £57 processing fee!!

Very clunky and expensive. Do not use this company. Go directly to Gov.uk for a basic DBS check for £21.50. This company charges £21.50 plus an additional £57 for the same thing and their customer service is near enough non-existant.

Over price, I received the wrong certificate clicked for Enhanced got basic approximate £116.000 charged with charges once you press a link there is no option to come out it automatically takes your money. I would not use again by choice

Please do not use this company. We used them to get a police report to get permanent residency in Canada as it was on gov website. It cost us a lot of money and time, they said it would be done in 2 weeks it took 3 months, in which we only had 1 week left to apply for PR. They did my husband’s first and they wereboth submitted together . Constant questioning and we answered same questions multiple times. Plus it’s certificate not even recognised by the Canadian government. Also they scam you and take money out your account every month and we have tried to stop it but somehow they keep taking it. Please DO NOT USE THEM
