Claim rejected because not a permanent resident
I recently had a very disappointing experience with CoverCloud. When my phone was damaged and I tried to file a claim, it was rejected on the grounds that I am not a permanent resident. This stipulation was buried in the fine print of the policy, which I overlooked when I signed up.
What makes this even more frustrating is that nowhere in the sign-up process is it clearly mentioned that only permanent residents are covered. This critical information should be prominently displayed to avoid misleading customers.
The rejection felt unfair and extremely frustrating, especially considering the premiums I had been diligently paying. It's clear that CoverCloud needs to be more transparent about such critical terms. I would caution others to read every detail of the policy to avoid similar disappointments.
Overall, my experience with CoverCloud has been negative due to this lack of transparency and the refusal to cover my claim.

Regrettably, we can only provide cover to permanent UK residents. The eligibility criteria is set out within the policy wording and also emphasised within the online sales path in bold and under a heading “Important Information.” Whilst we feel we did all we could to draw your attention to this particular condition and given that you are ineligible for cover, we feel it is appropriate to offer a full refund of the first instalment of £6.23 which was paid on 3rd June when the policy was arranged. A more detailed response including screenshots has been emailed to you.

CoverCloud can only provide cover for gadgets that are less than 3 years old at the time the policy is purchased.
This is made clear on the website and within our policy documents. Also, to help ensure that we provide the correct cover, we will only allow our insurance to be purchased if a valid date is provided. That is why it is very important for all customers to provide accurate information when purchasing a policy.

Premium has increased this year. No claims, no explanation. Just another 20% increase. If you want customers to be satisfied and provide good reviews, your whole industry should take a good look at itself. Start rewarding customers who stay with you year on year, and stop with the profiteering.

We do understand that the increase in this year’s premium may be more than you expected. This is mainly due to your premium remaining unchanged since 2021.
By not increasing your premiums for as long as possible, we think have provided good value. However, this year we have had to raise the premium as a result of the increased costs related to providing quality gadget insurance.

Been with this company for years. Cannot fault them at all. Colin who I have always spoke with is incredibly helpful to deal with. This is a company that is run by humans and not robots and auto responders like most. Their cover is extremely reasonable and very easy to setup and maintain. If I could give more than five stars I would.

Claim rejected for not being a permanent resident
I gifted my husband a iphone and wrapping gift of cover cloud insurance.
He lost is phone and when we reached cover cloud submitted all the documents the claim got rejected saying i am not a permanent resident. My husband and I both have been in UK since 2 years with ICT and dependent visa.
