Very helpful and nothing is too much trouble

We have partnered with Croner/Taxwise for well over ten years and throughout that time the service has consistently been exceptional. Their professionalism, efficiency and depth of knowledge have provided real reassurance and support to our business year after year.

A special mention must go to Vikki Bolhovener, who is always incredibly helpful, responsive and proactive. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Sorted the issue we had

We are a charity dedicated to supporting the visually impaired, and we are currently appalled by the predatory commercial practices of Croner-i.

After a 5-year partnership, Croner-i is attempting to force a further 60-month (5-year) automatic renewal on our organisation, despite us providing clear notice of non-renewal. They are asserting this "evergreen" clause is binding, even though they have failed to provide a system-generated delivery receipt for the contractually mandated renewal reminder they claim to have sent.

We have challenged this under the Unfair Contract Terms Act (UCTA) 1977, as a 5-year lock-in triggered by a missed window is an extraordinarily onerous and unreasonable term. Despite explaining that these funds are vital for our charitable work and that the service is no longer required, Croner-i’s response has been to ignore our legal dispute and continue to insist on a new 5-year financial commitment or a "settlement fee."

To any business or charity considering Croner-i:
Be extremely wary of their "fixed-term" agreements. Their reliance on buried auto-renewal clauses to extract money from an organisation - rather than competing on the merit of their service - speaks volumes about their corporate ethics.

We have formally disputed this debt, cancelled our Direct Debit, and will be referring this matter to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and Trading Standards. We will not be bullied into funding a multi-million-pound company with money meant for the visually impaired community.
