Aggressive scare tactics and automated harassment with zero regard for facts
Debt Recovery Plus operates as an aggressive collection mill that relies on automated intimidation rather than basic competence.
I received demands from DRP regarding an alleged parking breach at a hospital site where I was attending legitimate medical care. The hospital confirmed directly that they instructed their parking operator (Gemini Parking Solutions) to cancel the charges. Both the hospital and Gemini were informed. Despite the underlying notices being disputed and marked for cancellation by the landowner, DRP continues to issue escalating demands, arbitrary fee markups, and automated threats of legal action.
Contacting them to provide context and facts is completely futile. They operate on scripted harassment designed to frighten patients into paying unevidenced sums, completely ignoring that the debt they are attempting to pursue should not exist. They demonstrate zero due diligence, refuse to verify the validity of the instructions they receive from operators, and act solely as a pressure tactic.
Chasing individuals who are dealing with health issues over an administratively flawed hospital parking charge is predatory. DRP has no legal powers of entry, cannot dispatch bailiffs without a court judgment, and should not be treated as anything more than an aggressive mailout operation. Refuse to be intimidated by their templated letters, keep records of all communications, and challenge the operator directly.

Failed system
Back in July, I received a parking penalty after visiting Paratha Box in Slough. The key failure was that the parking system did not record my vehicle registration, despite the person with me clearly remembering that I entered it. I was therefore treated as though I had not complied with the parking terms, even though I was a genuine customer.
UK-CPM Ltd initially demanded £60. I tried to resolve the matter directly by visiting the restaurant, particularly because a colleague had experienced the same problem and had the charge cancelled by the supervisor. The supervisor was unavailable, so a staff member advised me to appeal online and provide my receipt, which I did.
A few days later, UK-CPM offered to reduce the charge to £20 as a “one-off payment” because I had stayed for 85 minutes. However, the appeal link repeatedly rejected my PCN number, preventing me from submitting a proper appeal. No effective contact email address was provided, only “noreply” addresses. I nevertheless tried to contact UK-CPM to explain that I had proof of being a legitimate customer and questioned why I should pay anything.
The matter then escalated unnecessarily. Weeks later, Debt Recovery Plus demanded £170. When I called, the agent was dismissive, refused to properly consider my explanation, pressured me to pay immediately, and claimed I would lose in court because they had “never lost a case.” I offered to pay the £20 previously suggested, but this was refused. This conduct caused significant stress and made me feel that I was being pressured into paying rather than given a fair opportunity to resolve the dispute.
I returned to the restaurant and eventually spoke to the supervisor by telephone. He appeared understanding, reassured me not to worry, and asked me to leave the paperwork with him. Despite waiting seven weeks, I received no follow-up. UK-CPM also failed to provide meaningful assistance. When I eventually found a valid email address and resent my evidence, I was told that the matter was out of their hands and that I had to deal with Debt Recovery Plus.
Further letters demanded £170 and threatened court action. During this period, I temporarily lost access to my email history because of a syncing problem and believed I no longer had the evidence needed to support my case. Under considerable pressure and feeling that I had no realistic alternative, I paid the £170. After regaining access to my emails, I discovered that I did have the evidence, but by then the payment had already been made.
The key failures were the parking system’s failure to record my registration, the broken appeal process, the lack of a functioning communication channel, the failure to investigate my receipt and customer status, the restaurant’s failure to follow up, and the aggressive escalation to debt recovery. These failures caused me financial loss of £170, even though the matter had previously been offered for £20, as well as considerable anxiety, frustration, and pressure. I also lost confidence in the businesses involved and no longer feel comfortable returning to Paratha Box.
I am requesting a full refund of the £170 paid, or at minimum reimbursement of the difference between that amount and the £20 previously offered. I also ask that the parking and appeals process be reviewed so that genuine customers can submit evidence through a working contact channel and disputes are resolved fairly before charges are escalated to debt recovery.
As a result of this experience, I will not be returning to Paratha Box, and neither will my colleagues who have experienced similar problems. The process appeared to prioritise collecting penalties over treating genuine customers fairly.
motivated by greed
Not one star. Made a number plate mistake paid for ticket. No 1st warning just another for £170 fine. This seems to happen frequently. An awful company motivated by greed. How do they get away with it

Paid PCN and yet they're still hounding me
I received a PCN in the post and paid it on that day. I took screenshots of the payment and of my bank statement as proof. Despite this, the debt was sold to Debt Recovery Plus who are hounding me to pay a hefty fine, and I cannot get in contact with them to resolve. I have tried to call multiple times but it just rings and rings. I have logged a case on their website (no email address available),which they have ignored. Waiting for them to now start knocking on my door and putting a black mark against my name.
Parking Scam
They work together with Local Parking Management Ltd, or maybe its one of their shell companies, anyway, they have a scam whereby they issue Parking tickets to people who have a right to the spaces in question. When I called DRP the told me to call LPM but to no surprise you just get through to DRP. A lawsuit sounds about right ✅️
Good communication
Ajay managed my case for me and was very helpful and communicated very well. He raised my issue with the parking company directly and eventually the charge was cancelled.
