Procedure of adoption was thorough as you would expect. Everyone we had contact during the adoption process were excellent and helpful. They know all about the dogs in their care. After care is available if needed.

We wanted to give a rescue dog a loving, safe and happy home and decided to adopt a dog. We fell in love with Espadrille as soon as we saw him on the website and even more after meeting him. We completed the website form (easy to do), arranged to meet him, and had several follow up meets before adoption day, including two with our dog to ensure both dogs were happy with each other. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, helpful and clearly wanted the best for the dogs in their care. Cardiff Rehoming Centre is exceptionally clean and well set out. We were very well informed about Espadrille's background, his nervous nature, what to expect so we could ensure he was the right dog for us as we already had a dog at home. The process from start to finish was well organised and, as is only right, the Dogs Trust staff ensured we were a good fit for Espadrille too; his future welfare was paramount for them to ensure he was rehomed in the right environment. Meg, the handler was fantastic and her commitment shone through, she answered all our questions (and I had lots so we could prepare for Espadrille's homecoming in advance) as well as giving us lots of information about him. He's settled in well, better, and quicker than we expected and we couldn't be happier that we adopted him. I had a follow up telephone call with Dogs Trust, answering a few questions on his behaviour at home, which we thought was fantastic and shows they really care, and the offer for post adoption behavioural help if needed. We can't praise the Trust and the staff enough, if you are able to adopt a dog the Dogs Trust is the place to go, we can't recommend them highly enough.

The help and support that we received from day one of our decision to adopt a dog from dogs trust was truly amazing, thoughtful and super caring in fact everyone that we spoke to there just simply couldn’t have done any more to help us find the most adorable dog that we’ve ever had the pleasure of calling a part of our family.

The staff are very caring, but professional. The dogs are treated so well and the grounds and kennels are superb. I was treated very well and the adoption process went smoothly.

Staff very helpful and welcoming and thdog we adopted is lovely.
The only thimg was we were told Elsa was waiting for blood result to make sure she had been neutered and we would know by the time we picked her up . We arranged to pick her up the following week . When we arrived we were told the blood had not been sent to the lab by mistake and they only sent it that day. We agreed to take the dog home. It was afew days later when we were told by phone that she hadnt been spayd and they would make arrangements for us to have her surgery done.
What we didnt realise was the vet hospital was a very long way and we were not told how much after care the dog would need which has been very difficult as we are both in our eghties..
If we had been told this we would have arranged to to have picked the dog up post her recovery.
We love this little dog but feel dogs trust should make sure dog parents understand what they’re in for when they take home a dog who needs this surgery.
Dogs trust is a fantastic organisation and our little dog will give us enormous pleasure but she has given us a lot of worry about her post op care and if we were looking after her well enough.

The team at Leeds were great. They understood what type of dog we were looking for and why we thought our dog was a great dog for us. We really feel like we have their support whenever it may be needed post adoption. Based on our experience I would recommend adopting from Dogs Trust.

The team at dogstrust shoreham are some of the nicest, most caring people we have ever met. They helped us through every step of the process adopting our Dean. He had a tough start to life, but thanks to their hardwork and care, and support they offered us when we took him home, he is slowly becoming the amazing dog we always knew he would be more and more every day. We are so grateful for organisations like dogstrust and for the kind hearted people that work there, and specifically at shoreham, for everything they have done for us. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please do visit or speak to them, there are so many great dogs just looking for their forever home. It's one of the best decisions we ever made.

This is the third time we have adopted dogs from dogs trust . All have been perfect , they have been very helpful in choosing a dog to suit us and with follow up care . The dog we now have now was chosen for us as recommended we down sized as we are getting older , my husband was very sceptical as we have always had large dogs , this one being a Jack Russell and our last a Newfoundland / Alaskan malulute , it was quite a change, but we couldn’t be more happier with her she’s a little sweetheart ,many thanks .
