Solar PV Installation by EEC Home Improvements
Clear and good communication during the initial sales and quote phase, mainly by Corey Deighton who is very professional and knowledgeable. Once we accepted the offer, things moved very quickly and we had the site survey carried out within days.
The installation date was very soon after this, and the scaffolding went up the day prior to installation. The team arrived early the following morning. Great guys that clearly know what they're doing.
It's been a month since then and we're very happy with the Solar PV installation. Our electricity bills are almost nothing, due to it being the tail end of summer. Obviously this will change throughout the seasons, but EEC provided an estimate of how the system should perform annually so we're fully prepared.
The kit installed seems of very good quality and comes with longer warranties than with other quotes we got. This wasn't the cheapest quote, but due to the long warranties plus the really rapid installation it was the one we chose. So far we're very pleased with that decision.

Replacement inverter
After more than ten years the inverter stopped working. Phoned on Thursday and the new inverter installed on the following Tuesday. Couldn't have been more helpful or efficient. Many thanks to Craig Ball (their Engineer) for excellent work.

Retro Solar battery installation.
Update 20/02/2024
Further to our update on the 14/09/2023 we can report that our intial concerns were explained by the technician that checked out the installation confirming that there was nothing wrong and what we were experiencing was basically due to the delay between the inverter and the Solis Cloud software update. We have monitored the system overr the last 5 months and can report now that the system is working satisfactorily. We feel confident that EEC will satisafctorily resolve any issues we may have, consequently I update our experience to 4 stars.
Update 14/09/23
Further to our intial experience stated below we have not been able to contact the electrician who installed the batteries since the first couple of days and concerns have arisen which have not been satisfactorily resolved. We do not fully understand how we will operate the system especially for the winter months. We were told that we could operate with no draw from the grid when the batteries and solar panels wouild provide power. This is not the case as we find that every day we are buying electricty from the grid albeit a small amount. This was a considerable investment. Please take this into account if you are planning to use this company. Obviously when this is resolved I will update this review accordingly
Intial review
From our initial enquiry for solar batteries with EEC, who 7 years ago installed our 16 panel solar array, we were given clear information regarding options on size of batteries. The site survey was carried out quickly and our questions were patiently and thoroughly answered. We wanted a quick installation which was arranged in the same week. Following an initial setback ( the electrician did not turn up) which we were kept informed of during the course of the day. The work was satisfactorily carried out the next day. The electrician left us with clear information on how the system works and contact on any follow up should we require it. EEC staff were friendly and helpful at all times and we have no reservations in being able to recommend this company.

All the work completed in one day to a…
All the work completed in one day to a very high standard. It was a very hot day, however all of the workers worked tirelessly and diligently in spite of the heat. Any questions I had were answered thoroughly and at an appropriate level which was particularly pleasing. The only thing I did was to provide cold drinks and chocolate biscuits for the workers who continued to work, eating and drinking at the same time. They worked speedily whilst maintaining good standards. All the workers were pleasant and cheerful. Everything was carefully planned and followed.I was very impressed by how clean they left the grounds!

Everything was done very quickly (10 days from enquiry to installation) and Andy the installer did a fantastic job in a less than straightforward setting. Good and fast install from EEC
Very quick from initial quotation/estimate to survey and then very fast time to install. Survey on Tuesday, scaffolding was up 2 weeks later and solar PV system was installed 2 days later.
EEC was excellent in sharing all the required documents ahead of time allowing plenty of time for a thorough read. Since the install I am 97% self sufficient for electricity supply.
Installers were very proficient and advised of plans before fitting any cables and switches etc.

The installation of my solar pv system…
The installation of my solar pv system was a great success. The scaffolding was set up in good time well before the day of the installation. Craig was a delightful chap who lifted 20kg panels onto my roof, fitting them precisely and with great care. Andrew, the engineer/electrician was a highly skilled, extremely knowledgeable guy who put together the myriad switches, inverter, batteries, data logger, isolators etc that make up the control panel at the heart of the pv system. He made a super neat job of the cabling from the roof into the loft, down the wall and into my garage. When it was all complete he showed me how to read the display panel on the inverter and together we set up my phone to receive all the pv system data.
I have already recommended that my son uses EEC and hope he can have Craig and Andrew as his technical guys.

Well run - initial issues solved
Had to leave a 1star review as I was texted out of hours advertising media contrary to GDPR. The MD took immediate interest, corrected the business model, educated staff and EEC listened to my concerns. Given their swift action I have now re-written my review to update to 5 star as they genuinely addressed my GDPR concerns and did it quickly. Great stuff.
