Essex kitchens and bathrooms,solar and heating is company I have dealt with for near 20 years for central heating installations and servicing. On this occasion they installed a complete shower room. Their workmanship was brilliant, for a small room it was a big job, everything we required was dealt with efficiently, each day they left the working area and stairs clean. The finished product was exactly what we wanted. I recommend the team and the subcontractors for their expertise and finish. Damon and Jack went beyond expectations. Thanks you all. 5*.

Nathan listened to what I wanted/needed in my new bathroom and also my time constraints. Everything was done extremely efficiently and within the quoted time. I am really pleased with the work and would use them again.

Absolutely delighted with our new bathroom renovation. The whole project was completed in just over 5 days, and the workmanship is outstanding. Damon, Nathan and Lewis were professional, efficient and a pleasure to have in the house - every detail was handled with real care and skill.
A massive shout-out to the tilers as well, who tackled a HUGE tiling job and completed it beautifully in just one day. Truly impressive work.

Having purchased a new build with a kitchen for a disabled person which we did not need. For under half the cost, they made a brilliant job of fitting in with what we already had , increasing our cupboard space by at least 65%..They went beyond the call of duty when, off their own back moved the height of an existing cupboard so all were the same height .Which they didn’t have to do. Very clean & Tidy. Very obliging tradesmen.From the lady who helped with the layout & the final result a very professional team..

The expense and practicalities of deciding to renovate two bathrooms and a cloakroom at the same time, felt a bit daunting at first, as you have to be 100% sure that you have chosen the correct company to undertake the work.

After much research and several companies later we decided upon Essex Bathrooms, Kitchens and Bedrooms. The process from start to finish was made very easy by Lewis, the MD, who listened to what we wanted and came with ideas, that we hadn't thought of, provided guidance on what was more practical and what could be achieved. The added benefit was that we could see and feel the products advised, as they have the added benefit of an extensive showroom with the products on display.

The way Lewis guided us was completely different to the other companies we spoke to, who basically told us what we should have (from a catalogue!) and not necessarily what we wanted.

A price was quoted, which was within our budget and we were advised that they would require 2 weeks to complete from start to finish.

The site team of Nathan and Damien were always on time, did exactly what they said they were going to do, checked with us on things like position of basins and taps, came up with some very clever design detail changes that made the bathrooms even more stunning and more importantly were very easy to work with. Lewis would check the work as it progressed, which was also reassuring. They treat your house like its their own and the level of cleanliness and tidying up each day was exemplary. We were never left without water and they made sure that we were not inconvenienced in any way by having all the works undertaken at the same time, which is very difficult skill that they have mastered.

The subcontracted elements such as the tiling, electrics and mastic silicone works were again carried out by Tradespeople who took pride in their work and had worked with Essex Bathrooms for a number of years. This was obvious in how seamless the the operation between trades was. Dean (Tiling) and David (Mastic) were at the very top of their game (having worked in construction for over 30 years - these two were very, very good at what they did).

To sum up, we were left with more than we expected and cannot thank Lewis, Nathan, Damien and the team at Essex Bathrooms enough for all they did. The price did not change from that quoted, (despite asking for a few extras such as putting up mirrors, which was greatly appreciated) and the works were completed when they said they would be.

We would give six stars if it was possible and would highly recommend this local company who have produced a fantastic transformation to our home.

After having a new boiler installed a couple of years ago I went with Essex for a bathroom renovation.
The renovation uncovered a number of building issues and these were expertly remediated by Nathan and the team. The bathroom is now lovely and the back of the house looks great with all issues rectified and new back door, window, insulation and cladding.
Really impressed with the work which was completed in good time and to a high standard at a fair price.
I highly recommend this company!

We have a wonderful new bathroom costing a very reasonable price. Everyone involved did a thoroughly professional job from the initial consultation to the finish of the work. Rubbish was removed at the start and end and clearing up was done carefully. Everything was explained patiently and we were amazed that the work was completed so quickly. We have already recommended the company to family and friends.

Had a really good experience with Lewis, Samantha and the rest of the team. Extremely hard working and professional - the guys were able to complete a full family bathroom refit and seperate ensuite in five days. Delighted with the overall quality of work and any snags (of which there were only a couple) were dealt with promptly and within two days.

Have already recommended Essex Bathrooms to friends and family, they were in fact recommended to me by one of my own family. You can't get better recommendations than that!

A complete bathroom transformation within 5 days. Lewis listened to our requirements and came up with ideas and a design that exactly matched our expectations. Avoid this company.
Work done: new Kitchen, new Family bathroom, new WC, upgraded Ensuite bathroom.
A big job costing a lot of money. I was renovating and updating the houser in order to sell.
1. Completed job promised by end April '22 only finally finished end July '22. Subsequent issues only resolved in November '22. Still not happy the end product. I also had to eventually replace my study ceiling but did not involve Lewis as I dont want anything more to do with this company.
2. Both WC and family bathroom design (Lewis) were so bad and impractical once installed that they had to rip it out and start again to my design ideas which Lewis had previously refuted in favour of his so called 20 plus year experience. I initially deferred to this so called experience as my profession was totally unrelated.
3. Most of the work was done by subcontractors.
4. Site supervision was non existent and this was reflected in poor and/or negligent workmanship as they knew that Lewis never checked anybody's work.
5. Sub contractors would arrive not knowing what they had to be doing and would ask me what to to.
6. Both bathrooms developed leaks which only became evident months later once the pooling water seeped through the ceiling. Lewis refuted the ensuite bathroom leak and blamed the pre existing waste pipe installation. The family bathroom leak was caused by the bath overflow waste pipe never being connected. Lewis initially had tried to resolve the issue by multiple applications of sealant. When he finally (many weeks later) removed the bath cover panel the never connected overflow waste pipe was in plain sight!
7. Workmanship from the various trades varied from very bad to very good. The plasterers did good work. One of the sub contract tilers did excellent work. The plumbers were generally poor. The electrician sub contractor did some good work but did not finish work which Lewis claimed was not part of the remit although the affected electrics were as a result of the kitchen installation. The sub contract kitchen installer was very good despite some minor alignment issues.
The sub contract decorators painting was barely satisfactory and was discounted by Lewis in that house buyers would not notice.

Overall the experience with this company was incredibly frustrating, generated much anger, cost me more money and caused project continuity of work issues because of delays.

Beware of: lack of supervision and zero site inspections. No design drawings/plans for bathroom and WC were ever made.
