STAY AWAY!

This company's way of cancelling is horrible. There is no way of cancelling on the website or through the phone. You have to send a letter one month before to cancel if not you are stuck for another year. I explained that I don't live there any longer. I know that many may be using COVID as excuse to pay, but I honestly had a my father in law in the hospital and died on November. My wife and I took him home on hospice to die in our home. I have my father in the hospital on a vent as I am typing this. I explained and she kept throwing the contract. They have no compassion or ways to work with their customers. Besides I don't live in that house any longer. She kept throwing the contract at me. I wanted to work with them but like any company taking advantage there is no compassion.

Stay away from this company. Other companies go to a month to month basis when contract is over. This is a horrible way of doing bussiness.

Shady, sneaky, business practices

Back in 2018 a technician was sent out to check my alarm panel to make sure it was working properly. When he finished I had to e-sign his form verifying that he checked my panel. He said I would get an email copy. That email copy was an extended contract my husband and I never saw or agreed to. When I called customer service to complain about it, it was a waste of time and we have been stuck in this contract for two and a half years. Sence they want you to cancel in writing 30 days in advance, I will send it 60 days in advance certified mail, return receipt requested. This is a shady company with terrible business practices. If they have to trick you into a contract instead of presenting it to you and letting you decide what you want to do, this is a company I don't want to deal with and wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.

I have tried repeatedly to cancel my GHS security contract. I relinquished my home on 12/4/19, they explained at that time to mail the cancellation in writing to their CA address. I mailed my cancellation letter certified mail on 12/10/19. Now they say they did not receive it in time of my cancellation date, which would have been 1/31/20. Clearly 30 days prior to 1/31 is 12/31, my letter was received prior to the 12/31 date but they still refuse to cancel my service. I have read the many reviews of their scams. Clearly they need more business and attempt to make it as hard as possible to cancel and force someone into renewing their service. Do not recommend! I will be writing more reviews, posting on social media, ESP Nextdoor app so all of my neighbors know not to sign up when they go door to door selling. I would warn people to sign with another reliable security company. They replied to my last comment to contact them via chat on viosecurity.com which when you go to press "send" does not work. This is the same as when they say they will return a call and never follow through.

*8/3/2020 - The compliance manager was very nice, helpful and was able to resolve my issue. She informed me that company is trying to make changes to better support their customers.

My appointment was made 1 week ago
For June 27th. With a window of 9-11. I called the company at10:45. Talked to someone at11:00 , was told the tech was an hour away. Tech arrived at 12:50
He lived 15 minutes from my home. Yet he was told to go to Danville Va fort, and come to me last. Came to my home , no mask, I asked why, he said his company did not require them to wear masks. I truly believe that since my home is in a predominantly black area, they could have cared less what time he got to my home. I have been a customer for two yrs, with three yrs to go, I don’t plan to stay another 3 yrs. the service today was horrible. Nothing against the tech, he had to do what the company said do

Any Technician not wearing a mask while mandated to do so goes against our standard of operations as we require all Field Operations personnel to follow the applicable guidelines in regards to Covid19 CDC prevention preparedness and protection. These guidelines include but not limited to wearing a face covering or face mask at all times, non-contact greeting, and social distancing. Our technician appointments are scheduled in the order the are received and are not coordinated based on the location of our technicians personal residence. We do try our best to accommodate the drive times between appointments and communicate when our technicians are faced with unexpected delays. Worst company ever.

Had problems with our alarm not working…

Had problems with our alarm not working for three months. Called GHS for support. They scheduled a service call for which they wanted me to pay $35. I complained that the device wasn't working and I was paying for a service I wasn't receiving. No way should I have to pay for someone to come out. They relented on the service fee. The tech cancelled the service call on the day they were supposed to show and said they would call back to reschedule. They did not.

Finally got another tech scheduled. They told me the problem was out of date equipment and wanted to charge me a fee again to replace it. This went on for two months. As soon as my contract is up, I'm outta there. No, I do not recommend GHS.

GHS is the crook you need to watch out for

Got an alarm system to protect my home and turns out the alarm company is the real thief. Worst company EVER!!!! Do not do business with them.

I was a loyal customer for several years (my contract term). My bill was auto paid on my credit card every month. When my contract ended last year GHS reached out to me and asked if I wanted to renew for a new term and lower payment. I told them I was not interested in renewing and wanted to be month to month with them.

Now six months later when I call GHS to cancel (took three phone call before I got a response) their phone rep tells me that I am now under a new contract and I have to pay a penalty to cancel before the new contract expires. He also informs me that the only way I could cancel was by writing a letter and mailing it 30 days before the new contract expires to their company headquarters. They will not accept a phone call for cancellation. When I asked the GHS rep for the contract that put me into this "NEW" contract for another year he could not produce one.

Absolute rubbish. Tactics like this are disgusting. Do you think Amazon would ever be the company they are today if they treated their customers like this? Guess I get to spend the next few days writing terrible reviews for GHS on every review web-site, with the Better Business Bureau and disputing the charges with my credit card.

Must feel great for the management and employees of GHS to know that their company generates revenue by cheating their customers wherever and however they can. How do you even justify this GHS? I mean look at all the terrible reviews on just this site. You must all be so proud.

Poor Customer Service

Company is elusive when trying to cancel service. Apparently, no one can help you to do this, but instead they tell you a representative will call you within the next 72 hours. No one calls and one has to call back, only to be told the same with repetitive, "we're sorry" "I know this is frustrating" "I apologize" and really doing nothing!!!???

Absurd Policies

I tried to cancel GHS security over the phone with customer service, the policy wouldn't allow an over the phone cancellation or an online cancellation. I would have to type up a letter (before 30 days of contract end) and mail it saying that I didn't want the services anymore. Clearly trying to make it hard as possible to cancel or force someone into renewing their service. Very scammy way to run a business. Do not recommend!

Worst company

Worst company. Very shady, awful service. Technician was nice and able to fix problem but then company comes back and charges you for euipment on “free” service call. System is never monitored so no faith that cops would come even if alarm goes off. Stay away

Unethical! Sold my 86yo mother an alarm system under contract, when she had already had Brinks alarm system for years. Predatory practices!

A GHS rep came to my elderly father's…

A GHS rep came to my elderly father's door in September and got him to switch from Brinks to GHS with the promise of paying off his Brinks account. They have not paid it off, so he has been forced to double pay. Efforts by my father, my brother-in-law and me to contact GHS Customer Service to correct the situation have gone unanswered.

WARNING: Don't do business with this company that preys on gullible seniors, does not fulfill its commitments, and is unresponsive to customer requests for assistance.

to be honest we feel completely ashamed…

to be honest we feel completely ashamed that we ever got involved with GHS as a couple of 18 year old salesmen completely lied to our faces and got us stuck in something we have been trying to get out of for months now. We just want out. Simple as that. Please please don’t choose to use this company. And GHS if you read this please help me out and help get us out. We were promised a free cancellation plan within 4-6 months of our contract and I have been trying to cancel since the begging but still have not been able to get anyone on the phone who can make this happen. As I am typing this I am waiting on hold for over 30 minutes- again.

This has been the worst business I've…

This has been the worst business I've experience in my 72yrs. Your company did not deliver the product you promised. You installed a keypad and connected to GHS system. I already had brink with the standard alarm GHS was to install 4 cameras and a door opener. That's what/why I went to GHS. I called GHS 6 times and never got a response until Green Sky called you. Now GHS is trying to make me pay $2771.00 on delivering half a product not half a portion of the product. I was making payments. I filled with BBB and now I'm paying a lawyer to help me. Ghs breach the contract by not delivering the entire product. Would not return calls after 2 months of me trying to contact them. Green Sky advised me the contract was missing info and could not force their end., If I could rate you/ghs a minus five star I would

Stay away

This is the worst company. At the beginning I set up my account to be in automatic payment. Every month they charged me on the date without any problems. Well I got a call from a rude guy from GHS treating me saying I owe $2800 for four months when my monthly payment is only $45. I told the guy how can be this possible when the automatic payment is set and I can proof with my bank statements this.. guess what he hung up the phone. I sent my statements via email and I want to follow up with them but they cancel my service without any notice and I tried to call them and being in the queue for 30 min and counting without any body answer the phone.

It has taken me over 45 minutes between two calls into GHS for me to speak to someone in Customer Service, then i was placed on hold several times for almost 20. Ridiculous !

GHS technicians lead company

GHS is better than other companies because of its people-field technicians, not the management. The techs, Anthony V. in particular, are the only people we see from GHS. His ability to communicate, listen, research, solve and express appreciation to the clients is refreshing. Anthony is a perfect example of what any company looks for, wants and strives for in order to increase its success in business. For, without the customers, which are GHS's #1 Asset, there is no business. Perhaps periodic calls should be made to customers to check on the system and services, and not assume all is well unless the customer calls.
