Poor communication and customer service
Unfortunately, my experience with GroupNexus was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend dealing with them.
I was parked at one of their sites while working there. When I was leaving, the barrier opened before I had made any payment, and I mistakenly thought payment would be made at the exit. I immediately reversed the car back inside and did not leave the site. I tried several times to make the payment, but the system would not allow me to do so. Instead, it recorded my stay as only 30 minutes rather than around 7 hours.
I contacted Group Nexus multiple times and sent several emails explaining exactly what had happened and asking what I needed to do to pay the correct amount and avoid receiving a parking charge. Unfortunately, their communication was extremely poor. It took more than a week to receive replies to each of emails, and despite my attempts to resolve the issue, they issued a parking charge anyway.
I submitted an appeal and explained the full circumstances, including that I have tried to make a payment and that CCTV evidence could confirm my presence and what happened. Despite this, my appeal was rejected, and I was told that this was their final decision, with no further correspondence considered.
I ended up paying the charge despite believing it was unfair, simply to avoid further escalation.
The worst part of the experience was the lack of proper communication. Phone calls were answered by automated systems, and email responses felt like generic automated replies rather than someone actually reviewing the details of my case.
A very frustrating experience. When a customer makes genuine attempts to resolve an issue and communicate properly, they should be treated fairly. I would advise to improve your communication and customer services.
No stars
Despite having a blue badge and photographic evidence we were fined £40. Rather than appeal we thought it easier to pay the fine and have done with it. How foolish we were!
We sent off a cheque 11 days ago and guess what? It hasn’t been cashed and have now received a demand for double the amount, what a coincidence! How to double your money without any effort.
It’s a disgrace that National Health hospitals are using this parking service which, according to reviews has consistently earned one star. I would give it no stars if I could as it’s an abominable company that has a licence to print money. Scandalous!!!!

Dishonest doesn't even begin to cover it!
I received a a parking ticket at North Deon District hospital on18/6/26.
As none of the ticket machines were working and wouldn't recognise bank cards or iphones I was unable to pay.
The app wouldn't download either . It downloaded at home over an hour later
I went to appealpcn but the site refused to recognise the reference number! Oddly I wondered if the reference would work if I tried to pay , lo and behold it did!
I see this as a deliberate attempt to appeals.

Parked on one of their carparks for work.
Paid through the app and the funds were taken from my bank account.
Yet I still received a fine. I have challenged this and waiting for a response. I've also requested a VAT receipt as the receipt on the app doesn't show the cost. They have refused to provide this.
I will never use their parking again and would advise anyone to avoid.
Terrible company and terrible customer service.

I received a PCN on 9th June (generated 5th June) for overstaying by 17 minutes at MK1 Retail Park on 30th May.
The last time I visited a couple of years ago, there was no parking time limit, but obviously things had changed. I arrived in a thunderstorm and had to sit in the car till the deluge subsided and did not notice any signage in front of my vehicle. I then received a PCN on 9th June which was generated on 5th June for £100, which was reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days. When I revisited last week there were no signs in front of where I had parked, but there were some to the far left and far right. I didn’t notice them in the torrential rain. NB the signage is high (I am only 5 feet tall) and the 4 hour limit wording is pale blue on a white ground which is not very visible. Black would have been more appropriate and the rest of the wording was small and difficult to read.
I accept it was my fault inadvertently overstaying, so wrote out and posted a cheque for £60 to CP Plus trading as Group Nexus, on 9th June making sure I followed the instructions very carefully and put it down to experience. It should have arrived well within the 14 days.
On 26th June I received a “Reminder Letter” saying that as I had not taken advantage of their “offer” to pay the reduced penalty, the fee had gone up to £100 and must be paid within 14 days from the date of the letter.
BUT I HAD sent a cheque for £60 on 9th June which had not been presented for payment. I wonder where it is - sitting on a desk or not processed in a timely manner, so the penalty increased?
I phoned my bank and they advised cancelling the original cheque and told me to send you another for £100 and contact them again when it was cashed.
Second Cheque was posted at the post office with the same attention to detail on 26th June and should have arrived 30th latest - well within the 14 day limit. I enclosed a covering letter with a copy of the original cheque dated 9th June and took photos as proof. It is now 14th July and the second cheque has still not been cashed, so now expecting a debt collection letter to drop through my door. I don’t know what else to do.
Other cheques for charity and bill paying had all been received and processed so why not yours???? The customer phone line has no human to speak to, the options are all recorded and none of them deal with you not presenting cheques in good time. The internet seems to be riddled with problems too, which is why I preferred to send a cheque, which is one of the payment options. What is going on?
No response to my letter, but having read the negative reviews, I am not surprised. Seems there are a lot of very disgruntled customers and a 98% dissatisfaction rating.
Maybe Trading Standards needs to approach to give advice about improving customer service, challenge their processing of payments and not treating customers as cash cows. If people make a mistake, it is right that they pay a penalty, but it must be fair. Adding insult to injury by passing on an admin charge for paying online, phone or credit card is not fair and I have not seen that anywhere else.
When you fail to process payments which have been received within the time limits, you should not penalise customers by increasing the fees. It is a shocking way to run a business.
Scum of the earth
Scum of the earth, charging people having to rush their loved ones into hospital as an ambulance will take too long. A cancer that needs eradicating.
Appeal submitted on time, but no response received before the payment deadline
I am currently dealing with a parking charge appeal with Group Nexus and wanted to share my experience so far.
I submitted my appeal on 9 June 2026 and was advised that they aimed to respond within 14 working days and no later than 28 days after receiving my representation. However, I have not received any decision or update within that timeframe.
I have already followed up by email to request an update on my appeal, but I did not receive a response. I also tried to contact the team by phone for assistance, but unfortunately I was unable to get any further information or support.
My appeal relates to an issue where the barrier opened automatically when I exited the car park, and the display screen only instructed me to move my vehicle slowly. I did not receive any payment prompt, warning message, or indication that payment was required before leaving. Before receiving the PCN, I had also contacted the team regarding this issue and was advised that there were no outstanding parking charges on their system.
I have now provided additional supporting evidence, including:
the email correspondence showing my previous contact with Group Nexus regarding the exit/payment issue;
the confirmation email and screenshot showing that my appeal was successfully submitted through the Group Nexus website;
hospital attendance confirmation; and
dashcam footage showing the exit process.
I am currently waiting for my case to be reviewed. I hope Group Nexus can improve their communication process so customers receive timely updates and support, especially when an appeal is still under review and the payment deadline is approaching.
Deceitful and predatory company
I received a PCN from this company alleging a hire car I was driving had overstayed parking at a location over 500 miles away. A clear case of mis-identification by their ANPR cameras. I appealed on their portal providing all the evidence and heard nothing for eight weeks until they eventually sent an email cancelling the charge. In the meantime, they deciectfully obtained payment from my credit card via the rental company without my authorisation and while the appeal was in progress. Reported to BPA and Trading Standards.
Machine advised no fee
Non of the barriers worked. Checked the machine when leaving which advised there was no fee to pay. Went to the car and left. Then receive a fine £60 as i had to walk to the car and then drive all the way round the car park to get out. What a Joke. Appeal process is in place but they didnt listen to anything or justify the cost.
Dishonest and fearmongering
We have valid grounds to dispute and had every intention to pay the £3.20 hospital parking charge. My disabled wife left an exit as the site had instructions to pay on exit, the exit we used didn't have a pay point. Upon return on the site we were clocked again and their machine refused payment on the pay point even considering the BPA's 10 min grace period. Their online dispute process only allows 200 characters which I submitted. I have been emailing often and received promises of 28 day holds while they review the dispute though this company escalates regardless. Now I have raised a dispute, a complaint and a full data subject access request but they still escalate and are dishonest. Their disputes process is flawed and everyone should band together against group nexus. Please write to your MP and fight any valid claim as this company does not conduct itself within UK law.
I received a letter saying I had…
I received a letter saying I had overstayed my time by 27 mins which was a surprise as I always keep an eye on the time unfortunately on this occasion I had become unwell and wasn’t able to drive safely which would have been against the law if I had I have health issues which are somewhat unpredictable I was taken to hospital the 3rd time on the following monday as my regular medication doesn't work and need something stronger. I explained all this but they weren't interested I appealed which failed their decision basically said they didn't care that I wasn't in a fit state to drive safely I should have driven anyway regardless of the possible serious consequences. I contacted them again on the advice of CAB they responded with an additional £70 on original fine within 14 days of date on letter 8th june that letter I received on 22nd June ? which was the 14 days. They are only in it to make money they don't care how they get it .

Scamming disgusting company I had a ticket for going over in a service station I tried numerous times to pay and their website wasn’t working within weeks £170 honesty’s life is hard enough at the moment without these people taking ridiculous amounts paid it as I don’t have the energy or time to fight it but shame on you to inflate your prices so quickly so wrong
Scam Company
Got a fine. Tried to pay online but recorded. Email address don't exist. Sent a PO in post to a PO Box number but they still sending letters to say not received it in which they have so they are a scam company. They keep threatening with debt collectors which is what I want or even better still I want to go to court then I can prove i paid. We need to get this company shut down and I'm gonna look into how to do it. I know someone who deals with rogue companies who can look into it. I'm gonna email them now.
GROUP NEXUS. SCAMMERS.
Being disabled, I carry a disabled badge which untitles me to free parking when shown at the payment meter. I took my son to russels hall hospital with a broken leg, we couldn’t park anywhere as the car park was full and the roads were blocked at the site too, leaving us in a queue for 30mins till we could get to the main entrance. We couldn’t find a wheel chair which was shocking, whilst I found someone to take care of my son to take him to the here he needed to be, I was forced to park near the maternity area with my disabled badge on show, when I managed to meet up with him in the hospital I produced my disabled badge and it was excepted as free parking. We visit a number of times due to disability issues and this company has now sent a fine which is absolutely shocking. The government need to look at this company they really are complete scammers.
SCAMMERS. AVOID.
Absolute ba5tard5. Parked in Tesco car park Birmingham which says to validate your parking WHICH I DID and parked for less than 2 hours anyway. They sent a fine of £70. I told them I don’t have the validation receipt because like everyone else, it’s thrown away. They said a bank statement showing you shopped at Tesco would be alternative proof. I showed them this and they said we don’t accept the statement????? Forced me to pay the amount. Park anywhere else but where these idiots operate. Simply shocking. Will be complaining to trading standards and recommend everyone else to.
They do not deserve even 1 star
Simply appalling company who are impossible to contact if you have a problem. I am sure the newly formed company directors have designed this so the charges get escalated .
I wrote to query my fine - I did pay . All correspondence to their PO Box address is ignored. Instead they escalate the action and the charge whilst I await a response to my letter . Now unable to appeal , fine is £120 and legal action is threatened . It is now a month since I wrote and no acknowledgement but increasingly menacing communication
TIcket issued despite vehicle being registered to park
My wife works at Scarborough hospital, both of our cars are registered on the hospital ANPR parking scheme, we have proof of this in email form.
We were issued a PCN for parking in the hospital in 2025 and it was appealed successfully after we provided proof that the vehicle had been registered.
In 2026 my wife was driving the same car and was issued a PCN from Scarborough Hospital again, arriving through the post. It was sent to me as the registered keeper and I appealed it detailing the fact it was registered on the ANPR system and that the previous PCN (reference number supplied) from 2025 had been cancelled as a result of their error. This was highlighted to them that it must be an error on their part and that they should check their system.
Unfortunately communication with this company of questionable character is difficult. They seem unable to read, comprehend, or process what they are provided with. As usual they sat on the email and appeal for some time, then said it must be my wife who appeals it. They have already been provided with all the details they need including my wife’s name, role, and department along with the previous appeal that was upheld.
Any normal company would have realised something was wrong, but not group
Nexus. They haven’t bothered to do anything, except refuse to actually check their systems. We have a screenshot of the companies own parking registration scheme listing our vehicle on it!
Their latest email states we have exhausted all appeals stages and now must pay or go to popla.
Group Nexus is a lobotomised clown show.
I have had a poor experience of this…
I have had a poor experience of this company.Firstly the barriers at Russell hall hospital were not working so you weren’t issued a ticket on entry and on exit I tried to show my disabled badge but the barriers at was broken and no one was ethereal to except it.
Secondly the only reason for our visit was that my husband was given a diagnosis of terminal cancer with less than six months to live!
How cruel a company canbe is shown by these evil people.
I was forced to pay £150 for two visits by debt collection.
I tried to contact them on their website and by phone neither of which worked!
I hope no one in their families get terminal diagnosis and have to go through this !
Scammers
My daughter got a parking charge notice for overstay in a car park (Wellington Retail Park, Waterlooville) operated by Group Nexus. The car was the location for a WeBuyAnyCar office that purchased her car. The car was in her name for all of 15-20 minutes of the visit. WeBuyAnyCar moved the car about 5 hours later when the maximum stay for the car park is 3 hours (however, she was told by WBAC that they rent 10 spaces of the car park for their business use). WBAC initially told her to appeal to Nexus (although she wasn't going to provide proof because its not her liability) and Group Nexus have rejected the appeal (I don't think they've even read the appeal as they made statements about signage being adequate). Group Nexus are a scamming company that put out bulk PCN's and don't consider the effect they are having on poor innocent people. I wonder how many people just pay the charge rather to avoid the hassle! Criminals
The App dosn't have the Location - so how can i pay?
Yet another one star review i'm afraid. In short the machine was broken and the App disn't recognise the advised location code or have the location in its list - so i couldn't pay. I tried to pay via the website but that was not possible - so i wrote an email explaining my difficulty. Whilst they did respond and their response indicated that if i paid immediately they would re-assign the date - the email was pretty blunt - and didn't address the issue of location. So i paid an elevated fee at a different location and explained that via another email. Lets hope this doesn't become a runing saga!
