Every time I called up they always managed to sort my issues

I had an amazing opportunity to do my HGV training, with HGVT, as part of my boot camp, Richard my advisor is an absolute rock star, absolutely fantastic and I totally felt supported through the whole experience from start to finish. I would urge anyone thinking about doing the HGV, to go through to HGVT. I am pleased to announce I am now fully qualified Class 2 HGV driver, with CPC. Happier days are ahead. I did my training with HGVT as part of bootcamp. First person I spoke with was Loveleen who explained to me the whole thing. Later Jorge took over and booked me for theories and Practical. I passed both first time, so pretty happy with the training from start to finish.

I signed up with HGVT for my training in early February 2022. It took until January 2023 for me to finally do my behind the wheel training and pass my test. There are several reasons for this - the training itself involves taking your driving theory and hazard perception tests again, with a particular angle towards HGV driving. There is also the CPC training. The course was also apparently very heavily over-subscribed with not enough trainers available. And I also had quite a busy Spring that year.

HGVT provided free access to the Driving Theory for All website so I could do my theory training on it. However I was shocked to find out after completing part of the training that I had been kicked out of the website login. when I contacted HGVT to find out why this had happened, they admitted that they had forgotten about me. It would have been really helpful to have someone who would check in on a regular basis to find out how I was getting on, rather than leaving me to go through the materials completely on my own.

Eventually I did my theory and CPC training, passing them first time in June and August respectively. However I had to wait until December to do my CPC practical and January of 2023 to finally do my driver training. Thus this course took far longer than the expected 'up to 16 weeks'. As I said, some of this was because I took a while to complete the theory training, but I do believe that if more support and check-ins had been available, the process would have gone much faster.

Between the time of doing my CPC practical and completing my driver training, I received several texts, emails and phone calls from multiple people that seemed to be at odds with one another. Phone calls usually came when I was otherwise engaged but very few voicemail messages were left. My driver training was rescheduled both in regard to dates and times on those dates. It became difficult to keep track of who I was supposed to be in contact with, and what was still needed from me to complete my training.

Trying to sort out my CPC and tachograph cards has been a very difficult process. When voicemail messages have been left, I have called back and ended up having to leave a message myself. I always give a good time to call me in these messages (ditto when replying to text messages) but no-one ever calls me at these times. I therefore still don't have a tachograph card. It would have been better if just one person was dealing with my case (or if this is not possible, better case notes should be left!)

I know this is a review of HGVT, but East Coast Driver Training, who I had my behind-the-wheel training with were also a mixed bag experience. I ended up driving three different lorries as various ones had developing problems throughout the five days I was there. I also had two different trainers with very different styles of teaching. The trainers also had a few unsavoury views about the world around them, which they didn't manage to keep to themselves. Nevertheless I obviously got the training I needed because I passed my test on the morning of the fifth day.

In summary, I understand that this entire experience was probably as new to HGVT as it was to me. I hope therefore that the process gets smoother and less chaotic for future trainees.

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish, from the moment I clicked on the website to register my interest, through sorting theory training and test, practical training and test, right up to cpc training and customer service and job interview courses. I passed my class 2 first time and about to start my first job as an hgv driver. Helped me fulfil my ambition to do the job I've always wanted to do. Thank you HGVT for everything!

The whole process from start to finish was professional if there was any questions they always answer the phone straight away and have the answers. I passed my class 2 in the same week and now have a class 2 job.

Great experience through manpower and HGVT, The telephone calls to get setup and the online learning tools were really straightforward, HGVT were always available to answer any questions and to provide support. Training was perfect and passed first time, Thank you again HGVT for all the support

I found HGV-T online and was initially impressed by the information on their website which, for someone looking to change careers to HGV driving, it easily helped me understand the process and the steps I would need to go through.
From my initial enquiry through the various stages of the process, the team at HGV-T were always available, very friendly and helpful and organised everything to give me the best chance of getting my qualification.
First impressions most often set the standard for a company and this proved to be the case with HGV-T. Communication was always very clear and delivered efficiently.
I thoroughly recommend them if you want to train or upgrade your licence.

I had to choose between various service providers when I decided to start HGV driving. The UK HGV industry is daunting to say the least. I soon realised that I made the right choice. The work was comprehensive and complete. It was a one-stop-shop and integrate all the various service providers before you can get on the road. It included everything from my Driving Medical; Theory Exams; Hazard Perception; CPC Theory; CPC Practical; Practical Driving Training and eventually Driving Assessment. I recommend HGVT highly.

Well went through Manpower and went through all the phone interviews and then online customer service course. Which was conducted very well and professionally and HGVT had any problems. Would just phone and spoke to Jaymini and was sorted on both occasions and I would recommend this driver training company craig baker driver training Wigan.
Who I had my training experience with passed 1st time and the team is brilliant.

Very unhappy if I'm honest. Not usually one to leave reviews but I will do when necessary. I had specific criteria when looking for a company, which was an unlimited time frame and weekend availablity. I was told on countless occasions through multiple phonecalls that I am able to cancel whenever and I will not have a time frame to complete the course. I was continuously told that if I want to take 2 years to do the course that's not a problem, I kept getting told if I pay in full I can get a refund at absolutely any point what so ever, and yet here we are being told that I'm not eligible for a refund and I have a 6 month cap till when the course has to be complete. I could write an entire book about how shady my experience has been with this company but I'll be nice enough to not completely ruin their reputation. Simply stay away and find a different source to complete your course.

Richard within the customer service team is absolutely incredible. He was and continues to be so friendly, warm and responsive to emails and texts. I have experienced a few issues during my time completing the skills bootcamp, however Richard has sorted them in a quick, efficient and professional manner. He is an asset to the team and I can't thank him enough for making my experience so much better!

The help and support I received from the HGVT Customer Support Team was excellent. The online training for the theory part of the test was easy to use and comprehensive.

The practical driving school at Kings Lynn gave me excellent training and lots of encouragement.

Although the training materials were good enough for me to work through myself, and for me to pass my test at 1st attempt, i was promised manpower would find me work once i had passed.
It has now been 2 months since i got my licence and i have still had no work from them, multiple contacts have not changed anything either. I even saw jobs in my area that manpower had listed but they claim it wasnt under their remit. I would suggest maybe HGVT dont use manpower any more

Got my driver cpc from hgvt. Well presented by Alex via zoom. This is not class room based they do it online just incase. Classroom based would have been fun but still quite satisfied with it. Job done!

Enjoyed the whole process.. now looking forward to a new career 😀

I went with this company because they said after I passed my test they could get me into Work. And they had clients to take on newly passed drivers. I pass my test on the 28th October. I called Manpower and they said there’s no work in my area at the moment I’m still waiting. Very disappointed ☹️
