Awful experience & disgusting management in the Poole Dolphin shop. Went to return an item as I didn't need it. Was told no refunds or store credit. I obviously questioned this as it doesn't sound right. I then got accused of stealing it as I didn't have a receipt or bag... (never was given a receipt after my purchase) So the manager told the security to radio for police. I had my 6 year old boy with me that got very upset with this and started to cry at the idea of me being arrested. I told the little manager to check his security camera to either see me make the purchase the day before, or to see me walking into the store to make my return. He told me "I don't give a f---... Making a scene now with everyone watching and my little boy nervous and crying his eyes out. I eventually left after the little manager tried to stop me. Didn't get my refund or exchange, and took a good hour to calm down my son. Disgusting customer service. Will never use or recommend to anyone.

Rude staff! It's my daughters first time trick or treating and came to this shop to collect a kids wig to finish my 4 year old daughters outfit as a witch. There was a big que going in which I didn't mind and it went down quite quick very very busy inside. I searched around everywhere with my daughter but thought maybe they can help us at the till. The que for the till was very long through to the back of the shop but we waited patiently to then be told the wigs should be over in the corner and hush away. I get that it's busy in there as its a day before Halloween but the service was useless and rude too! I'm the end I walked back over to the kids section couldn't find the wig that said was in stock online and wasn't there so I just had to find an adults one which wasn't quite what I wanted but it was OK. I then qued up again and asked the other till lady if they have any black hair spray and she just quickly said no we've sold out rudely again this lady was rude too. It wouldn't of hurt for someone to help in the store but no one did so Very disappointed.

I went here for a last minute Halloween costume and I couldn’t decide between 2 outfits. There were no changing rooms in the store. So I asked the cashier if i could purchase them both, go home and return the one I didn’t want. They said it was no problem. Also there is an underage CHILD working in this shop selling eye contacts and using the tills/credit card machines!! I went back the next day to return the one outfit and they refused a refund. I tried to explain the cashier yesterday had said it was possible. I got a curt response “exchanges only” and she rolled her eyes. I asked why this was not advertised anywhere in the store and she wouldn’t answer me. There was no customer service or politeness. If anything the cashier looked angry at me for holding up the queue. Absolutely disgusted with the experience. They were also selling fireworks to clearly young adults without IDing them!!

Extremely disappointing.
Ordered fancy dress Sunday. Had not arrived by today. Went online to check & found out my order had not been dispatched. No email, no warning, no answer to messages left both email & phone. Ruined our Halloween plans.

Cancelled my order by email at 2.36am a couple of days after I placed the order with next day delivery so that it would arrive in plenty of time for a Halloween party. It left me with no time to order costumes, one of which was for a disappointed nine year old, elsewhere as the party is tomorrow. The reason given was that it’s Halloween, which you’d expect a fancy dress company to have known in advance!!!!

The item has not been delivered and I’ve made numerous calls and no answer and sent 3 emails and no reply
AVOID at all costs nothing but fraudsters

I ordered an outfit for Halloween. As it was cutting it close to the weekend, I made sure I paid extra for next day delivery. They happily took my payment, cue a few days later when nothing had arrived. I checked my account on the website only to see it listed it as 'cancelled'. I had received no email, no response to phone calls, absolutely no communication whatsoever, and definitely no refund.

I managed to get through the physical shop number where an employee just said 'the website has gone down, it's not our fault'. When I asked whether I would get a refund and that I had had no email cancellation he just said 'sure'.

I should have taken notice of the other reviews before buying. For anyone who is reading this, most of the outfits are Smiffys and you can buy them on Amazon with next day delivery. I would advise going down that route instead.

Promised express shipping, didn’t arrive so I emailed them and they said they didn’t even have the item so cancelled the order! Poor customer service that I had to chase this without any information being communicated to me. Avoid! Was curtly told ‘It’s Halloween I’m afraid!’

First experience and really happy. Chose Hollywood Fancy Dress as they have by far the best selection of costumes and accessories I have seen on the web and I didn't want to go to Amazon! I was ordering a selection of wigs and glasses for a family party. A couple of the items I initially chose were out of stock but they came back to me by email really fast with suitable alternatives and my whole order was received only a day later, faster than expected and quality of products was also much better than expected based on other experiences. Photos of products don't do them justice - they are better than they look on the website. Will definitely use Hollywood again. Thank you!

Terrible service. Happily sent me confirmation of my order took money from my account and then left me with a heartbroken 4 year old when I received an email saying they had sold out! Not impressed at all.

Ordered a horse costume for daughter’s nativity play, website says in stock payed extra for next day delivery but received email saying out of stock . If they can’t get their website correct showing correct stock levels then their trust pilot review should be amended accordingly . Very disappointed

I give them a 2 star because they processed my partial refund. I ordered 2 costumes from them and on the website clearly said 20+ in stock. They processed my payment and sent me a confirmation email only to turn around and tell me they were out of stock and had to pick another. Chose Antman and yet again was asked to choose another. Ended up with Iron Man costume with no time to shop elsewhere. Disappointed in them. Do not process payments if product is not in stock and not mis sell products on your website. 28/02/20

Waste of money because they don’t glow in the dark! Refund offer but not worth it by the time I pay return postage.

I ordered the deluxe Halloween nun costume & the old man Halloween mask with separate glasses . I received my items within two days & I cannot recommend Hollywood fancy dress highly enough !! Costume is well made & masks are fantastic. I will definitely purchase from this fantastic site again !!!

Great fit pit longer than than picture to be honest but other than that ok

Got the nun outfit for Halloween, really good quality, very happy. Can't wait to freak out my family with the nun from the conjuring!
