RUBBISH IN EVERY WAY
All their online and phone systems are utterly incompetent and useless. One example: their first question in the "chat" required to know the EXACT amount it would cost to rebuild my property. How on earth can one know that - short of destroying it and getting a contractor to quote, rebuild it, and then send a copy of the final invoice? They are an utter waste of space.

We're sorry to hear how frustrating you found your experience with us. We understand that being asked for additional information when trying to arrange insurance can be frustrating, particularly when it isn't something you already have to hand.
Grade I listed properties are very special homes, but the specialist materials and methods of construction that may be required in the event of a rebuild can make it difficult to accurately estimate rebuilding costs using standard online tools. For this reason, the insurer asks for a professionally estimated rebuild figure from an appropriate expert, such as a building surveyor, to make sure that the level of cover arranged is sufficient.
We're sorry we weren't able to help on this occasion and wish you all the best in finding suitable cover for your property.

I have emailed several times in an attempt to speak to someone. I wanted to change 1 detail, I asked them to phone me ... No call .... I did see a phone number one email but sadly couldn't find it again.
I wanted to renew my policy by giving my details over the phone rather than on line, personal preference, it was a nightmare.
If you want to renew on line the process is smooth.
I have absolutely no idea about staff, if they have any?! The price was slightly dearer than other providers but I preferred to have continuity.
The company has 5 stars for claim handling so I decided to go with that despite the difficulty in contacting them. It's to be hoped if they are needed it's an easier thing to do!
I'm sure this is just me and others will just take the straight forward option without the self inflicted frustration!

Rubbish insurer, went through a comparison website as they were the cheapest quote; however, once I was transferred to their websiter the quote went up by 50%. Total bait and switch.

Beware
Beware! I found a good quote via a price comparison website. But when I went to buy, saw endorsements mentioned. Clicked for more detail and saw that it would not cover me for flooding; and that I needed specific burglar alarms (as mentioned by another reviewer here recently).
I live in a safe neighbourhood not near water. Few of my neighbours have burglar alarms. I have lived here for 20 years and not made a claim. But theft and flooding are two of the main risks I want to insure against. So the Intelligent Insurance policy is pretty stupid.
