Building and Home Insurance Policy - Competitive Pricing
Surfing the internet, researching renewal quotes for home and building insurance my phone rings and Phillip Hampton of Intelligent Insurance asks if he can help. I complete my online details and Phillip rings back as requested. The online quote was absurdly expensive but Phillip was able to walk through the quote and get the business, away from Hastings Direct. Phillip was professional, polite, informative and helpful. Hopefully the company will be as helpful as Phillip is. Four out of five stars as the policy has yet to start. Thank you.

Easy to do business with
I've just bought a policy and mainly due to the great service from Jack. I'm overseas and needed a policy but cant use a phone due international charges. I used the 'chat feature' instead, Jack talked me through everything and just made it easy... so much so, that I've purchased the policy without looking any further (I was just researching pricing at the time) Just shows what great customer service can do! Simply great service
Web site is so friendly to use, asked if I would like a call back and speak directly to an adviser, Jack was excellent, went through all my requirements and got back to me with the quote and everything organised within an hour. Kindness makes all the difference
A little bit of kindness went a long way and I felt all the staff went out of their way to be helpful & ensure I got the cover I needed plus adding a couple of extra sentences to the policy stating that the insurer was aware there is an ancient mineshaft at the bottom of the garden & still provides cover on the normal basis. I was unable to get this added elsewhere. The price was better than last year's and I would recommend Intelligent Insurance to anyone who has slightly unusual circumstances.

Got a really good quote from Intelligent Insurance for Home cover.......until I read the small print Minimum Security - Alarm : The insurer will not pay for any loss or damage caused by theft or attempted theft unless one of the following security devices are fitted, maintained in good working order, and put into effective operation at night and whenever the home is left unattended: • a NSI/SSAIB approved alarm system which is maintained in full working order under an annual maintenance contract • a central station monitored alarm system which is maintained in full working order under an annual maintenance contract • a BT Redcare alarm system which is maintained in full working order under an annual maintenance contract.
This is not mentioned in the main body of the policy which simply asks if you have an alarm fitted or not. The is a sneaky little "endorsements" button near the end that you have to click to open and this is listed in there.
So no alarm, no cover for contents due to burglary/theft etc. This is NOT a standard clause among the majority of insurers.
And insurers wonder why they have a bad reputation.
