Don't Get Rid Of High Street Stores Just Yet!

(This review is for Streatham Sainsbury's - 480 Streatham High Road SW16 3PY)

Whilst on a homemade 'sourdough bread' quest, I needed some semolina flour. (I used it before for easing pizza dough from the kneading board - but my semolina packet was well out of date!) Someone online says Sainsbury's 'grind' gives the best result when making sourdough bread.

So Sainsbury's it had to be - when I hate shopping - doing most of my shopping online.

Trying to find such a specialist item was the needle in the haystack. Until a smiling 'Kinjal' walked by. He knew instantly where it should be: left for the small quantity or right for the kilo size. And he went the extra mile to escort me to the right place. Even though the 'flour' section had been recently reorganized - he quickly located it. He did so willingly and smilingly - he didn't have to be asked twice - he just helped!

Making this rare visit made me realise that it could be a relaxed and less of a chore - when someone like Kinjal is willing to help - contrary to my feared expectations.

It must be something about this Streatham store that staff are so helpful - because on using the self-checkouts, Rina spotted my six trays and instead of me having to put them through individually - she used her key and made a block entry leaving them in my basket!

So leaving the store with a smile - after such a relaxed experience (and having collected a clothes order from the in-store Argos) it made my day!

I just might have to do it again! Especially as I was given an (unexpiring - I think) Nectar voucher.

With helpful staff like Kinjal and Rina - High Street Stores just might survive! Thank you to both!

I recently bought Sainsbury's plant pioneers no meat mince. It is the tastiest I've ever bought. I fry it, it stays apart individually, which is perfect. Don't change the recipe please, it's delicious!

Dreadful service.

Several times my wine delivery has been short of what I ordered and despite requesting NO substitutes, I get delivered alternatives.
When questioning the particular store…1) I more often than not get a person who can’t speak proper English nor whom I can really understand, 2) They can't deal with the incorrect pricing and 3) When they call to collect the incorrect bottles, the driver can’t give a receipt for what he/she has collected !

Avoid at all costs and shop elsewhere.

What a s*** show their clothing dept is now. Went to buy a bra, items were in a muddle and I've been to market stalls with better displays. Honestly Leamington Spa Tachbrook Park store what's happening to the quality experience.

A lot of items out of stock. Home deliveries are overpriced, drivers are rude and unprofessional. Customer service is very poor and unhelpful, and never get back to you.

Each time we go to Sainsbury's, the loafs of bread has that days date of best by, when we looked around the store, there is a lot off goods with the date on that day best before, Sainsbury's why do you sell this when most of us don't eat a loaf in a day.

Went to Ashton Sainsburys 1. hoping to find a cafe and it’s closed.
2. Wanted to buy three items of clothing all fitting rooms closed.
3. Went into the ladies is stank awful and no toilet roll .
Left the shop never to return 🤬

A discrace!!! you are putting your staff in danger.
Reported someome loading up with 20 steaks at Molesey and was told cant do any thing.Went in today Sunday same guy walked in i told staff and ws told cant do anything .My local tescos both have security and the staff are safe.DISCUSTING.YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED

I have never really had a problem with quality or cleanliness at West Green Crawley store. Occasionally I am stopped at till for rescanning which is embarrassing as I wouldn't dream of not paying. The online customer service is excellent. However i don't buy fresh food online like veg as staff dont pick carefully enough I found out recently that they have to pick so many items each hour. This is shocking and explains their many mistakes.

Disgusting. Obvious cruelty. Chickens bruised. State of ya.

Absolutely disgusted, I started munching into my broccoli at dinner and I found a worm size MAGGOT in it. Sort it out it’s quite literally a violation check your food next time it’s absolutely grim I feel ill.

I did a large shop at 8.30am Sainsbury Smith Square Hornsey
London N8 in mid Jan 25 with a bill of £261 and 106 items. Got to check outs at 9.30 but no manned tills. Was told no one would be available on a manned checkout until after 10am.It took me another 45 minutes to go through the self serve, having to restack on the loading platform as items were not recognized and i had to keep calling an assistant to help me rescan. I eventually finished and got out the store. About a week later i got a euro car parks fine for £100 for overstaying the 90 mins permitted.

I went back to sainsbury at Hornsey a few days later to be told not their faultand there was nothing they could do about the fine even though it arose because they had no manned tills. No attempt to help me or put me in touch with someone else.

I tried through the website but when i sent an email got reply back they could not help on the site and i would be better calling a customer service number. I did this and spent 30 mins discussing with an agent who was reading from a card telling me this complaint had no recourse and i should take it up with Euro Car Parks, which is of course a complete waste of time.

A abrogation of customer service ethic or responsibility by Sainsburys. Will never shop there again..

Complaining yet again about the Sainsbury's St.Albans store still freezing for staff and customers. Looks like they,are spending 1000's on revamping the store AGAIN but once again no heating . This should be against health and safety of all who use the store. Twice as bad as u enter the frsmeezer sections obviously. Manager toothless.

Beware of Sainsbury's groceries on Uber One. They advertise 50% deals on a Monday, but you will be paying the full price and they change items not available without notifying you first.

Sainsbury's is a good supermarket but their rewards vouchers are a joke, they are not in touch with ordinary people, how many pensioners can afford to spend £60 on one visit to save £9 not many I,m sure.

Never buy flowers at Sainsburys. I bought a bunch of 16 lilies, 7 days later only 2 had opened and they were all dying!

They are advertising a meal deal 'Dine in for £12' and 'see advertising'. No advertising anywhere.
I took a punt and bought a main, side and dessert. No discount.
When I eventually managed to find a staff member I was told, the deal includes a drink.
I asked where the drinks in the offer were and was told, it's new we don't have them yet.
They are advertising a deal they cannot fulfil!
They are breaking the law!
How does a big company get away with it?
They should be fined tens of £thousands

Shopping in sainsburys kidderminster today on the 27th December,i was shocked at the standard of vegetables. Rotten cabbages piled high so obviously only just stocked up.sprouts dried out and other vegetables looked old.shop looked very dirty and untidy.If staff have time to stand around chatting ,they have time to clean.I walked out without buying and will not be returning.

We bought a Taste the Difference turkey crown for Christmas Day which was completely inedible and had to be thrown away. The suggested cooking time was over 2 hours but after 40 mins (in Lacanche oven which has perfect temperature control) it was at 74 degrees and incredibly dry despite butter, wine and lemon juice in the roasting tin. We tried the crown after resting and it was completely inedible; consistency of cardboard and no taste whatsoever. We have bought the same product two previous years and they have cooked perfectly so had clearly been frozen for a very long time. Christmas Dinner ruined

Packet said 3 hours, 4 hours 36 mins later at a higher temp (185)!for the last hour and it’s nearly up to temp.
And before you say it every thing else cooks fine in my oven.
This is always the problem with Sainsbury’s products.
