DO NOT USE KEY ME KIOSKS!! First of all, the keys are bad and don't work. Second, they may email you a receipt, but it is a self-destructing email so it won't be there when you need to return the bad key. Key wouldn't turn & I saw the keying error. I lost $9.60 plus couldn't get in with groceries melting in FL heat. Lastly, they never answered the phone & only want to send a link where you must enter an Order # you no longer have. I have my credit card statement, but it won't work. Ripoff.

I needed a key ASAP so ended up at the keyme kiosk because Walmart doesn't make keys, thought they did. The key worked fine but this simple "dumb" Toyota Tundra key cost me $28 and took almost a week to get. Ended up going to Lowes and got same key for $6.00. I do not recommend.

Sign says "copy any key" (4 times actually). Couldn't get machine to work. Called thier 800 number and was told they couldn't copy my key. Why did you waste my time with your false advertisement??

On 10/17/25, I used the kiosk in Menards, Stow, Ohio. I requested 3 regular keys duplicated at a cost of $11.72. The following Sunday, I tried using the keys for my front door. It worked, but was very difficult to remove from lock. Against my better judgment, I tried the second key. It’s stuck in the lock. So now, anyone can get into my house, whether locked or unlocked. No answer from any avenues offered except to say ‘someone will contact you.’ After reading the locksmith reviews, I absolutely will not be using key me! I will most likely end up waiting for tomorrow to get a locksmith to come and repair since no one has contacted me from KeyMe. Also, don’t bother calling them on Sunday. You will be wasting your time because nobody answers. If this ever gets resolved satisfactorily I will re-review. My advice is to go to a place that has a human do the job, so complaints can be resolved quickly. And, I still have to pay a legit, expensive locksmith. All because I used this stupid kiosk. Learn from this! I will try and get my money back from my credit card through my bank.
On 11/25/25, my refund check of $140.78 for the front door lock replacement was accepted and deposited by my bank. Although a lengthy process, every back and forth communication to resolve the issue was handled pleasantly and efficiently. Although some further training may have to occur for the kiosk service techs, overall I would say KeyMe is reputable and a good service.

Pretty sure this is just a scam. I ordered a fob key as an extra for one of my house keys and it didn’t work at all. $40+ and over a week of waiting for something that didn’t do anything. Waste of time and money.

I purchased a key from a Walmart kiosk. The video showed a car key with remote control buttons so I assumed the key I was getting would have the same and I would just have to program it. When it arrived it was the key only and looked nothing like what I had seen on the screen. Way over priced and customer service didn’t much care.

Horrific, terrible and a headache of an experience.
I don't usually leave a review but I hope that this will help someone in the future. I had the unfortunate experience of getting locked out of my vehicle at a hotel and called these folks. I had the person show up and pop the door open. It was very quick so that was not the problem. The person did not give me a quote before hand. (Yes a mistake on my part) MAKE SURE YOU GET A QUOTE!!! don't let them touch your vehicle until you know how much it's going to cost. I was then told that for them to take 30 seconds of their time to pop my door open that it costs $500
I was shocked. Anyway I ended up having to call customer service and they were helpful after I called them a second time. (They did not take it very seriously until I called them the second time) I can admit that they were helpful. But this experience was not one I recommend for anyone. When I thought about it later there was multiple other options I could have done. So my recommendation is don't panic and ask around and get several options before having someone respond to help.
I sincerely hope that this helps someone in the future. Oh FYI this was in UT

I wish I had checked other business s!,the day after I talked to a company called Metro locks ,it was a 3rd of the cost I paid ,felt very very very ripped off

The Kiosk worked great. Quick and efficient. What a great option.

When the worker arrived She then met them outside by my car. He had asked for her licence and registration. Which her name is not on the registration. We have different last names. And her Identification is not a valid drivers licence. My daughter asked the worker if she needs to contact me for approval to have access to the car. And he said no, that its okay. The car that he arrived in was an unmarked darker grey/brown color. She was already questioning his work. 
All that he did to unlock the car was press some air into the door and press the unlock button in the drivers door. Then started writing a ticket for the sale. My daughter signed scared to correct the man for the charge. So she called me and thats where everything even more questionable started happening.
Here is the point of view from my daughter:
 I called my mom to ask her for advice while the service man was standing leaning into the car demanding for my card information. I refused to give it to him again because i had already gave my card information over the phone when booking the service. He then decided he was going to call his boss to charge my card on file when my mom was telling him that he was over charging me. He was asking what the issue was and he wasnt listening to our complaint. He then began to speak in another language to his boss over the phone and was refusing to let us speak with him ourselves. I started driving away because he at first was scaring me the way he was leaning in the car, but then he walked away to talk further with his boss so we couldnt hear what was being said. 
There was a lot of miscommunication due to the other language spoken.
We asked for a business card or a correct phone number to reach the office he was coming from and refused to give us any information other than that the company is called keyme. He told me to go to google to find the phone number. The receipt also has nothing about the company on it; not a phone number to contact, or the name of the company. 

Absolute garbage. Stay away. The KeyMe Kiosk machine ate my car key when I tried to make a copy of it at my local Albertson's. It has been over a week of trying to get in contact with this company, and no response. Save yourself a headache and take your key to a professional.

I made three copies of a normal key. None worked.

What a scam! Went to their kiosk and wanted two keys. Ended up charging me for four. The help line was a joke. Dint use them.

I like the convenience of the kiosk & there was no wait in line. The price for a plain key was steep. Price range should be stated under each key type or a minimum. The time it took and the fact that I have to do my own keys should factor in a reduced cost. It took longer than I had anticipated. Location: Walmart Springhill, LA

If there was a no star i would pick that!! overpriced to the max and the job was terrible, had to call a different company.

I contacted keyme to get a quote on unlocking a 2013 hyundai elantra. I've never used a service like this before so I had no idea what they would charge. I literally started laughing when the guy told me it would cost $285. I said no thanks and within an hour I found someone local who came out and did it for $35.

This entire experience has been a complete disaster. I called ONLY to get a quote, and without any approval from me, I received a text saying a technician was on the way. I did NOT authorize any service, and I will absolutely NOT be paying for mileage or a tech visit I never requested.

What’s worse is the absolute runaround I’ve gotten trying to resolve this. I’ve called over 7 times. Most of the time, someone picks up and immediately hangs up. The two people who did bother to speak to me put me on hold and then disconnected the call completely. Unbelievable.

This is unprofessional, borderline scammy, and beyond frustrating. Someone needs to call or email me back TODAY. I’m not letting this go until I get a resolution. Either fix this or expect this review to go even further.

I placed an order at a Staples location. I never received order updates and after 2 weeks, noticed my keys had arrived at a warehouse 1 week ago but there was no further tracking information. I emailed customer support, and they told me the keys were never coming ... and that they couldn't send them to me, so they are now refunding me. I asked support why I hadn't been emailed or informed of this, and to please resend the keys. They told me that was not possible and did not offer to re-process my order. What an AWFUL customer experience!

Don’t waste your money. Company sucks and keys not even close to correct. Yet the stupid customer service person was no help. She was a mind less drone.

I needed a replacement key for my dad’s car since I lost his. The man they sent was very aggressive and didn’t listen to what I told him. He programmed it and gave me the key which was fine. I found that the key wasn’t working as it should like having to unlock it 3 times to unlock the doors and the push to start not working from the distance it did with my other key. I called to see if I could get a refund as I had driven to get the spare instead which was an inconvenience. The lady told me she’d see what she could do but I also told her to tell her technician to not come out because he wasn’t nice and his customer service sucked. She said she would but 5 minutes later he appeared with an attitude and argued with me and my mom about a refund and how I need to give him the key which I agreed to do and he hung up on us. I went outside and let him test the key and it worked but again he had to push the start button multiple times to start the car and it delays when you lock so it beeped an extra time. I told him I’d rather work with someone else and he kept saying no and being aggressive. The key didn’t unlock the door right away either like stated to him but he ignored that small detail too. He started it again standing on the side walk and threw the key into my hand qnd said “we don’t refund key it works bye” and stormed off. If I don’t get a refund that is okay I am not going to cry or throw a temper tantrum over a hundred or two hundred dollars but the way he handled it was beyond unprofessional and I hope he gets dealt with for that. Nobody here was professional on their end but I guess if you get your key and it works you can overlook the rest.
