L&C make it seem so easy. Multiple stupid people tried their best to slow us down along the way from banks to estate agents but L&C always worked quickly and effectively. Our main contact was Ellen May who was brilliant. Will be recommending both her and the company to everyone I know looking to sort a mortgage!

I really would not recommend L&C unless you just have salaried jobs.

Firstly, they’re “fee free” but most of the fee the bank gets goes to them instead. You can read this on the info sheet they give you about the bank’s fee breakdown.

They gave me bad advice about the mortgage we were going for which slowed us getting our mortgage down. They also didn’t understand the Scottish system and put the wrong amount on the mortgage which slowed it down even further.

I ended up talking to the bank myself for most of it, because there were so crap.

The mortgage brokers have been amazing. They found us a great deal, we're always very easy to get into contact with. They made the process a lot easier and took the stress out of it by helping with all the forms. They let us know when things were really time sensitive like when banks were withdrawing offers and when we would need to make decisions quickly. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The advice and service I received was outstanding. I have been kept well informed at each stage of the process. As it has taken some time to complete our house move, they have continued to monitor the available rates and changed me to a better rate. Highly recommended.

She has guided me through the various stages of the application, explained the requirements clearly and helped me navigate the additional documentation requested by the lender. Amazing no fees and fully responsive on the phone or by email. Great customer service great mortgage they do all the things others do but because of the scale of the foot fall through the internet business they make there money and probably as much money as the other brokers without charging you any fees I highly recommend them.

After being quoted some high fees from other companies, I chose L&C after doing some online research.
I was assigned Jonathan as my mortgage advisor and he was great. As a first time buyer I was pretty clueless about a lot of the process, but he was super patient and explained everything to me in a professional and friendly way.
I also chose my Conveyancer via their recommendation which I also had a positive experience with.
Overall, I would highly recommend L&C Mortgages.

Brilliant as always. This is my third time using L&C to find the best deal for my mortgage and I have nothing but good things that say. Really simple, really efficient, no hard selling of products just pure honest advice. I wouldn’t dream of using any other company- and the best part . . . it’s FREE! No brainer really!

We were assigned a mortgage broker who contacted us once. When we returned the call, we left a voicemail and then followed up by email. We subsequently sent several further emails over more than 10 days, including emails containing personal and financial documents, but received no response.

We did not receive any out-of-office message despite contacting the same email address multiple times. We later made a formal complaint, which was not upheld because we were apparently expected to contact the switchboard or find another person to speak to ourselves. How were we to know that we hadn't just been GHOSTED by the advisor considering not a single out of office message was sent!

We find this particularly disappointing given that we had entrusted L&C with multiple pieces of private and confidential financial information. We would have expected some responsibility on their part to follow up with us when our assigned broker was unavailable.

We have now moved to another mortgage broker and the difference in service has been significant. Based on our experience, we would not recommend L&C to other first-time buyers or any buyers for that matter. I will personally be making sure everybody I know is aware of this sham of a company.
