The mortgage broker did not help me complete the remortgage and just told me to call NatWest when there was no number and all attempts to finalise the end product after many calls s and voicemail to l and c ended in the mortgage ending and your mortgage broker telling me the interest rate would be higher. He was happy to get me to commit but didn’t help me finalise the deal re IT issues so lost out on the remortgage . I rang and left messages several times and the only response I got from Matthew was call NatWest? No number contact for NatWest on agreement . Why wasnt he interested in helping me until the end? Most companies would be?

From start to finish it was refreshing to deal with people who genuinely wanted to help! Reza was fantastic from start to finish. Extremely informative and a credit to your company. I look forward to dealing with Reza again in the hope mortgage rates fall 👍 I would recommend your services!!

Excellent service

I rarely write reviews, but my positive experience with L&C made this an exception. As a slightly older applicant, I felt that the mortgage boat had sailed, but after playing with the numbers, I reached out to L&C to give it a go. From that point on, it was plain sailing. The online application was comprehensive but easy to follow, particularly if you have all your financial details to hand. The mortgage adviser got in contact over the bank holiday weekend, was knowledgeable and approachable, and we completed the application over the phone in a follow-up call the following Wednesday. He was also able to put me in touch with a surveyor and solicitor, and set up an income protection review. As a one-stop shop for an inexperienced first-time buyer, L&C seem hard to beat. From initial application to mortgage offer has taken exactly 3 weeks; the process has been smooth throughout, and I would definitely recommend.

Keenan was great to deal with, very polite and professional, he explained everything and was efficient dealing with everything.

Rudest customer service I have ever received. If I wasn’t so close to completing on the sale I would have left this company and gone elsewhere due to their rudeness.

They send reminders every month during the solicitor stage to let you know that you are still on the best mortgage deal which I thought was great at first, until after 4 months I decided to double check myself and every major bank had a deal A LOT lower than I was on (which equated to thousands of pounds less). Shocked that I hadn’t been informed about these better offers, I emailed them to request to be switched to this deal however 3 days later I still hadn’t received a reply and so I followed up with another message. In response I was then sent a rude email about how everyone else is in the same position as me and to wait until they get around to it. As a result of how long it took them to action our request, the lower rate had been already pulled and so we had to settle on a higher rate.

I wonder if I had not emailed to ask to be switched, would we have even been told about the lower available rates.

I also asked for them to reapply for the mortgage so that a new 6 month period would be triggered so that we didn’t have to worry about the current offer expiring and possibly having to reapply with highly inflated rates and funnily enough I still haven’t received a reply - and that was over 2 months ago.

As you can appreciate, I would not recommend this company.

The reason why I've used London & Country for my mortgage/remortgages for many years, is that just like this time they have great staff who are knowledgeable, friendly and provide great advice.

Being an independent advisor, I trust them to work in my best interests, to get the right product and value for money.

I've been receiving broker service from L&C for many years, the company has full market access and works on fee free basis. Their staff are truly professional, my broker has indepth market knowledge, provide quality advice and always give the best recommendations. Their operational process works well too, timely reminder, smooth transition and execution everytime. I'd highly recommend L&C to anyone!

Very straight forward, discussed at length the options and gave an option which took me through an offer stage quickly!

I was contacted very quickly after my initial email and they set up a call. Tayla was very helpful, got everything sorted and had my application processed within a couple of days. She made everything super easy

I booked a call with this broker for between 10am and 11am. I kept the time free and waited. At around 10:45 my phone rang three times and stopped as I answered. I rang the number back straight away and left a voicemail explaining what had happened and asking for a call back. Nobody returned the call.

I had a straightforward remortgage to discuss and was ready to proceed. If a firm cannot keep a first appointment or return a message, I have no confidence in how it would handle an application. I have gone elsewhere.

LandC we're ready to interact with and the people we have worked with are professional, thorough and will versed on what they do as well as easy to talk to. Communication was good and the systems we used were straightforward. It took longer than expected to get a mortgage offer which meant going round the loop a few times to provide additional information which, ideally, could have been asked for and provided up front. That said, LandC worked hard to understand our not-so straightforward situation and worked it through successfully with the lender. Thank you

Whole process up to the offer only took a couple days, adviser was very communicative throughout and easy to get ahold of when I had questions. Currently at the Solcitor and Conveyancing stage following the offer but still going pretty smoothly

Hannah at l and c was absolutely amazing, she made the whole experience stress free and easy, they line up every person needed for every part of the mortgage
