I don’t understand how it’s possible to run a train serve so badly for such a dear price. I’ve lived all over the world & without a doubt this is consistently the worst train company I have ever had the burden of having to deal with. Best part… there’s no other option!

Every time I travel to Liverpool from London I encounter problems with their trains absolutely pathetic service
Worse Trainline than the one on Showpiercer
I started a new job in mid-June that unfortunately requires me to use the London northwestern railway line. Out of the all the journeys I have completed to and from the office this far, TWO have been on time and/or not cancelled. Why is it so bad?! A train lines one job is to get people from A to B.. I have incredibly frequently been stranded at point f***ing Z with no way out. Or worse, stuck in Milton Keynes for way longer than I care to be there. Absolutely diabolical.
Zero star
Zero star for these filty, dirty, stinky trains. The trains are never on time. On their app it, ridiculously, states that their driver is sick or they have no driver for the next train. They do not have a back up. Thousands of people have to rely on their single driver to go work, school, home...etc. Yet, they shamelessly think that it can be an accuse to announce. Another day, they do not have a driver because there is a fire. Another day, their train is broken... they have all excuses but not running trains. Additionally, all the trains every parts of them stink like public toilets.

My LNR train was cancelled
My LNR train was cancelled, so I put in a delay repay claim but LNR denied the claim on the basis that it was an LNR train that was the issue, not theirs. So LNR forwarded my details to LNR Customer Relations. Time has elapsed from when I should expect a response. It's been a month since I first raised the claim.
Avoid!
Every time I try to organise a journey which involves this company. My trip is delayed, cancelled or is incredibly cramped with too many people. This operator is awful. They will cancel trains last minute with the usual pathetic made up excuses. And as the line from Crewe to London is so busy it's another hour until the next. I ended up just getting a taxi from Crewe to Lichfield.
Avoid if you can, pray if you can't
Breach of privacy.
For the first time in many years, I found myself without a ticket on a London Northwestern train travelling from Euston to Bletchley. Perhaps it was my fault that, after many attempts to load the app and buy a ticket on my phone as usual, the app wouldn't load and kept freezing.
Unfortunately, near the open platform gates I was given wrong advice to buy the ticket on the train. I would not have followed that advice if there had been clear information about the penalties for the crime of traveling without a ticket.
However, it was a great opportunity to learn even more about how this company and its contractors care about passengers. Or rather, how naive I was to count on a service of passenger care and respect—which, as it turned out, did not exist.
The process of being fined was humiliating and memorable. First of all, there was absolutely no sympathy.
Secondly, the IRCAS uniform resembled a police officer's, and the stern, severe demeanor of the IRCAS staff made it clear just how serious an offense traveling without a ticket was—making one feel like a criminal.
And thirdly—and this was the worst part—I had to provide my personal details in the presence of other passengers. I would have been happy to just settle the fine on the spot, but that option doesn't exist. I even had to tell them my date of birth!
Finally , they printed out a sheet of paper for me that astonished me with its size. It was a sheet 22 inches long!
I must admit I was shocked by what was happening. It was made clear to me that I was being treated like a criminal. I was shocked that I not only had to provide all my personal details but also had to do so in the presence of other passengers.
After the ordeal, the passengers showed me sympathy and offered me their support. A young couple said they had always thought that there was an option to buy tickets on the train and now realized what the situation could be like.
I've traveled on this line for years. As with so many of us I have been lucky to suffer numerous times from delays, cancellations, crappy toilets, and unclean carriages. We have no choice but accept this. In the 21st century there are no alternatives here.
However, I would really like to get an answer to the question. Why is there no option to pay the fine on the spot if one wishes to do so, and why is there such indifference toward the protection of passengers' personal data?
I have used London Northwestern Railway…
I have used London Northwestern Railway many times, and unfortunately the experience is consistently disappointing.
Trains are frequently delayed or cancelled, often with little or no explanation. The ticket prices are extremely expensive considering the poor level of service, and some trains don't even have air conditioning, making journeys very uncomfortable.
Another issue is the attitude of some ticket inspectors, who can be unnecessarily unfriendly towards passengers. Yet, when trains are delayed or cancelled and customers actually need help, staff are often nowhere to be seen. It's very difficult to find anyone who can provide information or assistance.
Overall, the service feels unreliable and poor value for money. It seems that the lack of real competition removes any incentive to improve punctuality, customer service, or the overall passenger experience. For the prices being charged, customers deserve a much higher standard of service.
Should be zero rating!

Bought ticket arrived at station, previous train was cancelled, when my train arrived passengers already completely filling the aisles & doorways so I was unable to board. Staff at New Street Stn gave me a contact number for LNR, retuned home & immediately called them. Over two weeks later I had heard nothing & no refund, called them again today no details of my original call on the system. I am being asked to pay postage to return the expired tickets & suggested I send recorded delivery at my own expense, once they receive the ticket they claim they'll process for my full refund. I am absolutely furious this is complete incompetence, I've used a number of train Apps & this is the absolute worst it never occurred to me to check Trust Pilot for a train company never using these clowns again. Plus I had to make my way home at my own expense, missed out on a day in London plus paid taxi fare to the station!
Would give a damned 0 if I could

Request for Refund Due to Train Delay and Missed Appointment
Dear Customer Relations,
I am writing to request a refund for my train ticket, which cost £98.
Due to a train fault with your service, I was delayed and arrived late in London, causing me to miss an important appointment. This caused significant inconvenience and disruption to my plans.
I would appreciate your review of this matter and a refund for the ticket cost due to the impact this disruption had on my journey.
I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,
Ghada

Unable to claim refund due to train…
Unable to claim refund due to train track interruption in Runcorn. I was supposed to travel from Crewe to Liverpool South Parkway 07/07/2026 instead the train went back to Hartford to drop some us off then back to Crewe to terminate their. Their were apparently replacement coaches/ buses but at 18:35pm after long day I did not want to spend my whole night getting home. Luckily I got a taxi with a group women from Hartford. I Spent the the past two hours today wating attempting to use the reclaim - delay repay from LNWR. Such corrupt company took all my journey and bank details for my claim and when I submitted the form it went back to the beginning without any confirmation my claim had been submitted. Tried again and the same happened again.
Absolutely the worst train company that…
Absolutely the worst train company that ever existed
Will never use them again
My train yesterday was cancelled at Milton Keynes.
Almost 2 hours late getting into Euston
Really don’t know how they’re still in business.
Evacuated from train and No refund
My Train was hit by a powerline and after two hours i was evacuated and had to walk up the track to Hemmel Hempstead. I have not received a refund and LNR are being incredible stubborn about it despite giving the refund to my Wife . I have great videos if any press outlets want to get involved .
Awuful
have lost count of the number of complaints I have made, yet I have never received a meaningful response. The service is consistently unacceptable: cancellations, delays, and incompetent staff at the stations. Today I needed to travel to London. Before leaving, I checked the app, which showed that the 10:23 train from Watford was running on time. However, when I arrived at the station, the train wasn’t even displayed on the departure board. I asked a member of staff, who told me that because the train only had four carriages, there was no space for any more passengers. Their solution was simply, “Choose another route.”
Are you serious?
Why are you selling tickets for trains that passengers cannot board? How can you justify running such short trains on such a busy route? This happens all the time. Passengers are paying extremely high fares, yet the service is unreliable and poorly managed. The level of planning and customer service is unacceptable. It’s clear that something needs to change, because the current management is failing its customers.
