I was with Marshmallow for 2 years
I was with Marshmallow for 2 years, never made a claim so not much to say on that but customer service was good, never had issue when making changes, the app is clear and easy to use. I am however leaving due to my renewal price being way more than double what I was previously paying. They did bring it down to £8 over what I was paying but I found another insurance for £60 cheaper so that was a no brainer

I did wrongly a quote a car insurance with a tag on it and realised the mistake and wanted to change to a policy without tag…Stasia was superb helpful and she did help me patiently. Really appreciate her.

AVOID …
Avoid would not change my insurance start date even though inputted correct date ! SCAM told to cancel and reapply and they would waiver the fee went to do a new quote put it up by £27 a month and said nothing they can do got a free £30 for doing nothing THIEVES avoid

I recently moved back from france to…
I recently moved back from france to the UK and had to purchase another car and insured it with Marshmallow.
You have to register with the Goverment where you will be staying so we stayed at my Sons in Exeter until we found our new address.
So i gave my address in Exeter to Marshmallow when we found our new home i informed them so they charged me a further £130 on top of an already expensive quote.
Today the informed me they are going to cancel my policy in seven days time because i mislead them by giving the former address.
So i have had to find another insurance company ☹️ not very good is it !!!!

With all insurance contracts, the policy holder has to ensure that all policy terms are adhered to. Failure to do so may necessitate the policy cancellation.

Just awful Big Brother experience
Just awful experience. Invasive, manipulating and controlling. I told go compare didn’t want a tracking policy. Despite this marshamallow popped up, after I purchased their car insurance then then told me I had to be tracked. Spent two hours trying to get through past their website Bot and talk to someone, eventually I was told it was a glitch in the system and tracking was not required. Now their App is telling me I can’t complete my validation until I let them have full tracking, location, motion access etc etc. oh and don’t worry they’ve taken the money in full already. Just a horrible experience. I only wanted car insurance, not to enroll in Big Brother

The policy you purchased was not a telematics or tracking policy. The request to share driving data for 30 days was entirely voluntary, and you did not need to enable location or motion permissions. Declining the request would not affect your cover or prevent your policy from continuing.
The app message suggesting that tracking was required to complete validation was incorrect, and we understand why it contradicted what our agent had explained. Your payment was taken because the insurance policy had been purchased—not because you had agreed to share driving data.

Their AI bot is great in getting you going, then the details forwarded to an agent, in this Case wanted to change my registration number, and the seamless transition to a an agent, in this case Elsie supported immidiatly and just replied it was done with no impact to my policy, Quick and efficient. I have been using Marshmallow for 3 years and renewing each year was easy as long as we speak to a live agent which has been positive!
This time around, I had to get a new policy on top of renewing a policy. Titi from customer service had been wonderful and patient with me as I had millions of requests and were all done very quickly. We had chatted for a couple of days before things had been put in place.

Got a quote through a comparison site &…
Got a quote through a comparison site & Marshmallow were the cheapest. Recieved an email from Marshmallow with a link to buy the car insurance, clicked on the link the same day i recieved the email only to find the price has risen by over £100, with no explanation as to why.
Price comparison site sent me to Marshmallow, Marshmallow sent me to the price comparison site.....unless avoid unless you want to be lied to

Disgusting customer service
Disgusting customer service! This a lazy AI company as they couldn't even be bothered to incorporate it properly. Chats are with ai agents even after you ask to be transferred to a human agent. The agents lie aswell saying that my driving wouldn't be tracked due to being on the plus policy but as soon as they had the payment, they began tracking my driving! I reached out to them and they said it was just an error and they were not tracking my driving. 1 week later they cancelled my policy. A disgrace of a company who cant be bothered to reply to simple queries and questions and the reason they dont have a phone line is because its easier to fob off your customers then!! Avoid at all cost!
They may give a cheaper price but is it worth the stress if you do have an accident or like myself, get a morning email telling me my policy has been cancelled due to my driving (even though I took out plus and they confirmed they dont track plus drivers- liars) and that very same company fobs you off once they have your money!
If I could give minus stars I would. These pop up firms are just trying to ride the AI wave without a clue how to implement it.
