Once again I'm adding a review about the online insurance company Marshmallow. Due to the current cost of living climate I found myself struggling to pay my monthly installment for my car insurance. I used the chat service on my app and within two minutes I was given a three week extension to make my payment. I would recommend this insurance company to anyone. Great cover with so many, easy to navigate, features all inside their self explanatory app.

I like the driving insights provided…

Don't get MArshmellow
Don't get MArshmellow. The Driving tag is all set up properly yet I get threathening emails every other day saying my insurance will be invalid because they are not receiving enough driving data. I only use my car a few times a week and receiving such emails is stressful. I asked to cancel the policy and get a refund and was told I would lose my 20+yrs NoClaims Bonus!!! And of course, you can only speak with an AI chat bot not a human. This company is a joke. DO NOT INSURE WITH THEM.
Adding: The Tag was definitely set up correctly and a representative of Marshmallow confirmed they had received driving data. So the tag system is not fit for general purpose. The persistant threatening emails because of said faulty tag system were stressful and the poor service quality gave me no confidence this company would actually help me in the case of an accident. The AI agent gave me false information regarding the NCD being negated if I cancelled. I am glad to say I have cancelled the policy and will never go near Marshmallow again.

Marshmallow Move requires the Tag to be correctly connected to the app and driving data to be shared. Although the Tag may have been installed in the vehicle, the reminders were sent because our system wasn’t receiving data, which can happen if pairing or phone permissions haven’t completed correctly. Driving only a few times a week would not itself invalidate the policy.
Cancelling mid-term would not remove the 20+ years of No Claims Discount you had already earned. However, you would not earn an additional year for the current policy if the full term wasn’t completed. We’re sorry if this distinction wasn’t explained clearly.
You’ve now spoken with one of our agents, who discussed the Tag issue and your available options with you. We appreciate that the experience and repeated reminders were still frustrating.

I was with Marshmallow for 2 years
I was with Marshmallow for 2 years, never made a claim so not much to say on that but customer service was good, never had issue when making changes, the app is clear and easy to use. I am however leaving due to my renewal price being way more than double what I was previously paying. They did bring it down to £8 over what I was paying but I found another insurance for £60 cheaper so that was a no brainer

AVOID …
Avoid would not change my insurance start date even though inputted correct date ! SCAM told to cancel and reapply and they would waiver the fee went to do a new quote put it up by £27 a month and said nothing they can do got a free £30 for doing nothing THIEVES avoid
