Our heating stopped working, we contacted a company found online on "02080237198" who sounded professional enough and said they could send someone over on the same day.
Someone came (I forgot to ask to see documents/ID) and looked quickly at the system and said I needed to replace 2 parts (port valves), and an optional third part (magnetic filter) was required to prevent the issue from coming back. I was asked to pay a 50% deposit (sounds fair enough). He was on-site for about 20 minutes, and he said the work would require significant labour and draining of the system.
Someone came the next working day (again I didn't think to ask ID) to do the work. During the work, he was taking photos of the parts and sending them to someone and talking on the phone asking for help/guidance from someone (I was previously led to believe this was a simple setup/problem and solution). After fitting the parts, the system started up but kept shutting off, he poked at the pump attached to the boiler (not part of the system he had touched so far) and things got moving. He then left, he had been on-site for under 2 hours.
The system stopped working again an hour after, we called the office number we had before who told us "someone will call us back in a few minutes", a replacement plumber came the next day and rectified the issue. On-site for under an hour.

The first invoice was from "plunger".
The second invoice was from "plumbforcedirect".

Both times I was asked to speak with Scott, who was well-spoken and professional sounding and took the payment.
In all, they charged us over £1,000 to replace two components which turned out to cost £75 each and one component which costs £30.

Do not use. Scott although polite will take your money as a deposit and not schedule the work.
Should be investigated by authorities complete rip off company.

Don't go near Plumbforce Direct nor their website Plunger.uk.com (note the spelling).
A Scottish guy answers the phone: sounds very business-like and professional. He's the main thief.

They charged me £634 for 15 minutes work on my Worcester combi boiler.

Useless company. Their customer service team are complete time-wasters who are full of empty promises. They don't call back and aren't straight with the customer. We waited all day for a morning call, I chased 6 times. They then assured me they would call as priority first morning call the next day. Nothing. They just don't turn up and continue to serve up lies. Just be straight with your customers Scott.

Needed a replacement thermo-stat. A £60 part. They charged £540 for the installation. This after quoting £120 fixed price. In other words overcharged by 3x the amount. Utterly bad experience, jackals of the worst kind.

The reviews on here are accurate but I stupidly didn't check before. Told me I need to replace parts when there's nothing wrong with them. Quoted me 4-5x more for repairs than other companies. Advised me that more substantial work was recommended which was unnecessary. Told me they'd give me a report but it never came after phoning three times. Horrible company with no morals.

I won my case against PlumbforceDirect at the small claims court but they have never paid me the thousands of pounds awarded. From looking through reviews here it seems they have many, many unpaid small claims judgements. They obviously keep changing name to get away from their terrible reputation. Please do not use this company and warm others about them.

I feel totally ripped off by this company. £102 for someone to tell me a gas lever has been accidentally knocked in the semi off position. This could have been mentioned in the phone discussion. Also after being promised a 2-4 appointment he finally came the following morning and had the cheek to ask for another £80 to open the boiler to check it which is what the job was in the first place. Would not advise anyone to go there.

PLEASE STAY AWAY! In a moment of desperation I booked one of their engineers without looking at reviews. As everyone else is saying they are a scam and won’t fix your problem and try and get you to spend more money. I don’t understand how they haven’t been shut down yet

I hope this is the right place to leave a review for Plumbforce Direct, it seems others have...

Feels like I needn't leave this review given it merely confirms the one star anyway - I should have done more research before clearly.

Keeping it precise, our flat has been lived in for two years and they claim the pipes were so blocked with limescale that it required machinery to clear. Unfortunately I wasn't at home and my partner agreed to pass over £475 for their 30 minutes of work. I've since had quotes from elsewhere and frankly that is completely uncompetitive - I'd advise looking elsewhere.

Then quite strangely, I called the next day to get some detail about why it cost so much and the person I spoke to (Sylvia?) and was told they wouldn't do anything as the quote was accepted on the day. Fine, I thought that was it. But then Sylvia felt the need to call me back to tell me I had apparently agreed to the work on the phone with my partner - which didn't happen. Always good when a customer service agent calls back to try to prove you were wrong with misguided information. Like I said, I'd advise looking elsewhere.

I have had the most unfortunate experience with Plumbforcedirect. As the name suggests they should be a plumbing company however that’s all it is in name. I phoned them up as they suggest online they will look after you. They came after they missed the first call, which should have been free according to the website. When a plumber eventually arrived on Friday 5th of August Marcel suggested it was indeed not the push button even though that’s what prompted me to call them in the first place. He said the Syphon needed to changed at a cost of £200+ vat + 85 call out charge + 85 but then the final balance was £484.80. Marcel would promise many things on his 2 visits which lasted no more than 20mins on the first and on the 2nd visit he brought a student with him to fit the dual flush Syphon ( he should have fitted a single flush Syphon which doesn’t work. I told him it was not working and all he could do was to say it wasn’t his fault and demanded payment. He also insisted that I sign an invoice to say the job had been completed to my satisfaction which it has not.
I kept questioning why he put the wrong one in and got no answers. I then had to pay him £484.80 for a job that’s not done or fixed properly. He was not prepared to leave without payment.

I then phoned him 11 times since and sent him photos of the correct one he should have fitted. His response was if you want me to fix it you will need to spend even more money! He knows he’s in the wrong.

The toilet in our company flat in London was leaking & I found Plumbforce Direct online which appeared to be a reputable company. I rang & booked a plumber to come on 12th July, 2021. To cut a long story short after several visits & many missed appointments, they did not fix the problem but took out a total of £973.20 in four separate transactions from our company credit card which we missed but has just been picked up by our auditors.
In the last few weeks I have sent many emails & made numerous telephone calls to Plumbforce Direct to get them to send proper invoices to justify their outrageous charge to fix a toilet. Both Scott Hall & his assistant Sylvia have systematically obfuscated or ignored my perfectly reasonable requests to let me have the necessary information, promising to research or call back without any action at all. Even a letter direct to their Company has been completely ignored.
I have been in business for over 45 years & this must be the worst company I have ever come across, incompetent & inefficient liars, DO NOT USE THEM.

Do not use this company. Told me it was £25 to provide a quote, but then on the day wanted to charge £110 for a 'call out' (to have a little look around and provide an excessive quote). I argued with them and the price for the quote was £25 plus VAT, so £30 really, which I paid. The price they quoted £2,300 (which from other reviews, I doubt was the final price), whereas I got the issue fixed with another engineer for £500. Scam.

I see from the reviews here my experience of this firm is typical. They also trade under Plunger Ltd.

Hands down the scummiest and scammiest company I have ever dealt with – AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I initially called for a diagnosis of my faulty boiler, and when the engineer attended he said I could get a replacement part for £700, but strongly suggested I get a new boiler for £3k. And that if I agreed to hand over a refundable deposit on the spot they would guarantee a discount. A second opinion from the boiler manufacturers diagnosed it as a completely different problem and fixed it for much less than these cowboys were quoting.
Then began the problem of getting my refundable deposit back. After 2 months of many calls and being fobbed off with “it should be with you tomorrow”, before eventually being BLOCKED I got my money back via a chargeback. These people don’t deserve to be in business. Whether they are intentionally malicious or just plain incompetent, do yourself a favour and avoid dealing with the potentially costly misdiagnosis of your problem, high pressure sales tactics, and plain attempted theft.

The PlumbForceDirect plumber barely attempted to unblock my gully with his plunger, then said the only way was to use the machine pressure washer, which would cost an additional £300. I declined and paid their call out fee of £120.

I then used checkatrade and found an independent plumber who used the exact type of plunger that the PlumbForce Direct plumber used, yet this attempt unblocked the drain in a single plunge. There would have been no call out charge if he hadn't unblocked it too. He even used his pressure hose anyway to clear out additional debris that was built up in the manhole chamber.

The plumbers working for PlumbForceDirect are obviously on commission if they charge more by having to use the pressure washer, which incentivises dishonest quotations and lacklustre attempts at the job to hand.

AVOID.

Just use Checkatrade online and support the little guys.

Lessoned learned.

ABSOLUTE FRAUDSTERS
Forced me into part paying for a new boiler I didn’t need, as the plumber refused to leave the house until I paid.
Long story short - almost £2000 with them that I spent months chasing my refund.
Launched a credit dispute and went through months of anxiety and fighting with them but got my money back in the end. Thanks to my amazing bank and the fact I paid on credit card. Not everyone has been so lucky. Scott seems friendly on the phone but clearly has no heart or decency. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Wish I had read these reviews before booking….
Paid for a boiler service to obtain a certificate of compliance for the sale of my flat. Workers failed to show up when booked, with no telephone call etc. When the service was completed, I was told the certificate would be emailed to me…it never was. Multiple failed promises to deliver it to me later, and they “agreed” to give me a refund, yet the money never transpired. Scott - who I spoke to on the telephone had a friendly demeanour, and promises to sort things - but totally useless and dishonest. My calls were even screened a few times when I tried to follow up on getting my money back. 100% fraudsters!!

Plumbforce Direct come under many names and you will often find them when trying to google a local plumber. They subcontract local plumbers and I have no problems at all with the plumber who I worked with.

But I couldn't stress more that I wish I'd never gone through Plumbforce Direct. Marcel is the sales person who will quote you the costs. He will always try to do an extreme mark up on the price so please don't take their first quote.

My real reason for reviewing the company is because on my second dealing with Marcel. I'd paid a large amount to get my boiler fixed and it hadn't solved the problem so I asked for them to send someone to come around a check it. I was quoted another large amount and after the negotiation I said I would have to check elsewhere given the sum and would let him know either way. He said he'd charge me for the call out if I did that despite me reporting the issue as still being ongoing about a week after the first visit. I said this wasn't right and he blew up at me. Along with some personal rudeness he shouted at me for five minutes about how the customer always thinks they are right and that he doesn't need my business and £85 means nothing to him. I said his attitude was bullying and he retorted by saying I was playing the victim. I was shocked and upset by this experience.

As a side note, their booking of plumbers is extremely poor and we had to move both of my appointments several times and there was no communication from Scott, the booking guy, once booked unless I call them several times if the plumber hadn't turned up. Scott was perfectly nice, but something in their booking system just doesn't work.

I would strongly recommend avoiding using this company, masquerading as a local plumbing company as they are just sales guys sub contracting plumbers all over London and are quite happy to rip someone off and verbally abuse them. It was overall a horrific experience.

We paid 750 pounds to fix our shower 4 months ago and spoke to Scott as he said if we paid then the work would be done in a day. They scheduled the engineer to visit but no one ever turned up. Rescheduled again in Jan but again claimed that "van broke down". Several other attempts but unfortunately the work was never done. Scott agreed to give a refund a month ago but unfortunately still haven't received my money back. Extremely disappointed to see this level of fraud from this company.

Very poor service - engineer didn't manage to fix my issue and charged me above 100gbp for: 1) a quick 5min check and 2) quoting me 500gbp for a second visit to change a shower tap (that cost me 10x less to replace with another provider). Scam artists who prey on customers and who have not bother replying to my complaints by email and letter.
