useless

Glitchy operating system was always a problem ever since I bought my QNAP NAS 3 years ago, disks always seeking and spinning for no reason - I lived with it.Now a Ransomware attack, due to backdoor in OS, I have experienced terrible support. i would suggest that nobody buys a single piece of kit from them

QNAP Systems : réservé aux spécialistes !

J'ai acheté un serveur NAS QNAP TS-251+ en avril 2021, en m'assurant avant auprès du "service client" que mon disque dur était bien compatible. Après 9 mois de problèmes durant lesquels le "service technique" m'a fait par deux fois perdre toutes mes données, celui-ci conclut gentiment que mon disque n'est pas compatible et que je n'ai qu'à en acheter d'autres ! Le service commercial reconnait alors son erreur, mais ne propose aucune solution satisfaisante ! Une marque à déconseiller donc pour les non spécialistes, et pour tous ceux qui pourraient avoir besoin d'un véritable Service Client, que ce soit avant ou après vente.

This company is constantly been Hacked…

This company is constantly been Hacked and files being held for ransom. The virus is in the software when you purchase the product. It was install by a former employee. It counts down and then one day locks all your files. If you have a Qnap system copy all your files elswhere. Qnap can undue it, so you have to pay the ransom. Qnap doesn't care. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT. ITS ONLY TIME BEFORE YOUR FILE GET LOCKED UP,

WORST customer service (if you can call…

WORST customer service (if you can call it that) I've ever encountered. Stay away from this company. They do not stand behind their products and want to send everything to Taiwain (one-way) and you have to pay to get it back and pay for them to "have a look". All because it's a few months out of Warranty.

This is by FAR the WORST product I've ever experienced in computing. I studied Business Informatics, so I think I know at least a few basics.

I have gone through all of it. Restores of the RAID 1 since the second HDD failed. - Not working

A hacker attack through hard coded admin password on qnap side.

Permissions to access my own data on the NAS where gone through a patch an QNAP side. Took 2 weeks for them to fix this.

Restoring system settings after a power blackout (and because qnap then ruines all storage configs when there is a blackout once) - also failed to restore the settings, even though the version was the same.

NOTHING works as expected. I really have trust issues. Not even basic backups are working as they should. Every week the NAS tells me that the backup has been completed. By accident I saw that not all folders are on the backup because qnap couldn't handle a folder name.

Really, If you want to have a high risk on losing your data AND losing your mind because this product is the biggest fail in history, then please buy it.

Utter garbage

Utter garbage. I too got hit by ransomware because on changing my router, the QNAP device created rules in the router which opened up all the ports to let the hackers in. Shocking security and the problem hasn't been fixed in a year. Fortunately, or so I thought, I do regular backups. However, I ended up having to completely rebuild the NAS which cost me about a week because the whole process is so awful and I am now about to junk it becuase even now nothing works as it should - if I enable the firewall, it locks me out even under the default rules - or indeed any rules. The backup software I've since subscribed to won't install and checking the system logs caused the system to hang. It's just junk. I used to have a Synology and that just worked. I'm going to buy another or maybe a different NAS but I felt I needed to warn people about this crap company and its crap products first.

Warning do not buy a QNAP NAS

Warning do not buy a QNAP NAS. Having owned one for several years I have had endless problems with the RAID group dropping out. QNAP's technical support group keep blaming the new Seagate HDD's that I have installed but these are fine - it's the QNAP ios that is defective. Despite having replaced HDD's multiple times the QNAP support team managed to DELETE my 1Tb database which has taken years to compile, even though I had a 2xHDD redundant NAS with RAID configured. The QNAP product id defective - avoid at all costs!

Can I just say how ridiculously…

Can I just say how ridiculously malicious this company is. I've just woken up to my entire family NAS being locked up with ransomware. Now that I read up on it this has been happening for over a year, and at NO point did they contact me in any way to help us protect ourselves from it. Now our entire library of photos, work and anything else is locked up. At this point I dont even blame whoever put this software on my NAS, this is purely QNAPs fault. Honestly stay away from this horrible company at all cost!!!!!!!!!!!

NAS acheté en 2015

NAS acheté en 2015, est tombé en panne en 2019.
J'ai contacté le support pour mon problème car une LED clignotait. Le service m'a juste dit naturellement que mon produit était hors service et a eu le culot de me proposer de racheter un produit chez eux sans même faire un geste. Plus jamais je ne rachèterais chez cette enseigne.

Absolute piece of rubbish

TS-451+ Stopped working 2 months after 2 year warranty expired - piece of crap.
Support Mediocre and they had no inkling of what the issue was. All contact done by a noreply email -now that is stupid.

Repair quotes -
Tier 1 $140 US
Tier 2 $240 US
Tier 3 $390 US

and shipping cost from Taiwan from Australia. In the meantime I am without hard drives and access to data!

Save your money or spend a little more and buy something else at least you will have you data and access to it!!!

Kann ich hier auch keine Sterne…

Kann ich hier auch keine Sterne vergeben? Eigentlich ist diese Bewertung schon zu viel für Qnap. Der Service ist lahm und hat nichts zur Lösung beigetragen. Das Produkt anfällig. 2 Abstürze mit kompletten Datenverlust innerhalb von 2 Monaten. Die NAS ist übrigens 3 Monate alt. Das Ding macht eigentlich nur effizient die Luft warm. Ich empfehle einen anderen Anbieter. Die können nur besser sein.

bot customer service. tried to talk to a real person during the offered service time, none there...bot again, asking if I want guidance with FAQs...incredible bad service, or non-existent at all! I regret I have bought such a server and not looking for more reliable company

BUYER BEWARE: Mistake to Purchase QNAP

WARNING--their Customer Support is HORRIFIC. As soon as I got my system, I asked their support on info on what I should configure to protect my system. I specifically asked if I should change the port, and the agent said, "No." That turned out to be a LIE. When QNAP recklessly exposed my system to ransomware, they did nothing to help me when I urgently needed their assistance. Thousands of my files were encrypted because of their FAILURE to answer basic questions that I had asked around protecting my system.

Before the attack, when they ignored my request for technical support, I reached out to the Owner and he was never responsive to my concern so in my opinion, he is a dumb JERK!

The worst mistake I ever made was to buy this product. I am a leader in technology by trade, and I have never seen such horrible service with any product. This is more than, "You cannot please everyone." No, QNAP STINKS. I cannot wait until someone blows them out of the market! After which, I wish someone would just dig a grave and QNAP Support can STEP INTO IT.

Support is terrible!

I have TS-451 which I bought ages ago. I must say in terms of hardware it was okay but in terms if software and the non-existing support is just terrible. The last nail in the coffin was hit in the spring when I released that after a usual firmware update out of a sudden I can't decipher one of my LVs because now the "mighty" web-interface refuses to accept a character which is certainly in my password. I contacted the QNAP support and they suggested to type in just the first 16 characters of my password which didn't help. Then, guess what, they suggested to type in just the first 12 characters of my password which also did not help. Because I had much to do back then I decided not to follow further nonsensical quest-like steps from the QNAP side and the ticked was closed. I made my own server in the meanwhile and migrated all the services the only thing which is still missing is the information in the encrypted LV so I opened I new ticked. And, guess what, they suggest to update my firmware whereas I already got the latest firmware for this model. So I said no, sorry, can't do that for that particular model; and after that just silence. I guess until xmas they will provide me with other nonsensical quests to do. Run away from this company as fast as you can!

QNap was just a big big disappointment…

QNap was just a big big disappointment for the last to year's. This devices brake down worst at least once a year and Support ist just crap. I'am not speaking about the cheap devices. Not usable for Business! Never again!

Die Super HILFE

Hallo, mein Problem wurde in einem Tag gelöst. Der Mitarbeiter vom Service hatte Zeit für mich, und konnte alles super erklären. Nach einigen Hilfestellungen vom Mitarbeiter konnten alle Probleme super gelöst werden.
Vielen Dank das Sie Zeit für mich hatten.

Es wäre toll wenn alle im Service diese Qualität hätten

Awful customer service - refuse to replace faulty power adaptor and also require me paying for postage of the item to them under warranty. Extraordinary - avoid.

one of the worst support teams in the world, they don't care about criticality, bad technical support they don't have the knowledge about the product, they won't reply on time takes ages for one reply, support contact number doesn't work, how we suppose to follow up they don't give a damn to reply, I have been waiting for past 3 days just for the reply asking the status of my ticket.
