James and his team did an excellent job. Very comprehensive report. This resulted in our car being repaired . We cannot thank Scotia vehicle repairs enough for such a great service. Would highly recommend.

Excellent service with helpful and professional staff. The engineer who came to inspect my car was incredibly helpful, thorough and professional, and the written report I received was detailed and comprehensive whilst also being very easy to understand.
All the staff members I have dealt with have been friendly and helpful, and I will absolutely be recommending SCOTIA to anyone I know who needs a similar service.

Waste of time and money. This is clearly an unspoken monopoly system between car dealers and finance companies there is nothing impartial about it. There definition of a thorough inspection is to open the car bonnet look at the coolant level and oil level and plug in there machine to read fault codes and spent no longer than 15 mins. Engineer agrees that its a manufacturing issue as it was a common problem with my car, suprise suprise the report comes and no mention of this instead they are siding with the car dealer. Not only that i had to request multiple reports to be ammended as they all had incorrect information in regards to millage, MOT dates and service history dates and also details of the car. Just simply shocking companies like these lot are allowed to trade when they cant even do basic things correct. I reported these cowboys to the Ombudsman and luckily i got my £200 back that i paid for the inspection as i simply refused to lay lown down and let these crocks make easy money out of me.

Rang for advice on a vehicle purchased via finance , after a helpful insight from James on previous issues with the make and model of car he ascertained over the phone a completely alternate theory and way to proceed going forward, all at no cost to myself of which I am very greatful

Update for you James 🤔🤔your review over turned by the financial Ombudsman Service who have advised work was not carried out bye myself as problems with the car were apparent to have been there for a long time prior to my purchase. Also dpf removed euc tampered with all as I said. Very very disappointing as you claim to be professionals. Finance company will now pay for new dpf plus ecu reprogramming and compensation very sad I had to go to the extent I did to prove my innocence. I actually thought you was working as an independent inspector but it’s clear the reviews regarding your company are true. Thanks for the pleasure of dealing with you I hope I’m not blessed with that pleasure again as long as I live 👍 all this after 12 months ownership dont let theses people hold you back if u know your innocent don’t give up you have rites.

Had a chat with James re issues with my vehicle using heavy oil consumption and oil
In spark plug wells. Wanted a inspection on my vehicle so I could complain to my finance company. He was very honest, open and knowledgable and told me how it is, with out beating round the bush. Clear cut and no nonsense. He spared his time and didn’t push for anything or a sale. Would definitely recommend!

Brought a vehicle from Eddie Wright's in scunthorpe which is unfit for purpose, well dangerous.
Oodle car finance in Oxford were provided with engineer report however they wanted Scotia to do it.
Why they have interest if future works that Scotia on first agreed date, did not turn up nor did call I arrange for me to not book any other arrangements waiting for them.
Then the second agreed date the engineer took 20 minutes drive up my path, he had alcohol on his breath which my son witnessed.
Then the report was delivered put in words to favour the Oodle car finance but before he left said fo not drive that vehicle.
Looking at the engineer who was videoed doing the report as we have CCTV he put on the report he tested parts of the vehicle which he said in his findings but he never tested them.
Completely not independent, Back handers going on and the ombudsman and FSA have been informed

Absolutely shocking company, I have had my car for 2 months and was getting tons of problems and these charlatans were assigned to inspect my car. The inspector on the day said that the issues look like an EGR valve that is stuck open causing soot build up in the DPF filter. but his report came back with a completely different conclusion. How is it that in 3 weeks of driving, including a motorway journey from London to Birmingham, after having my DPF filter CLEANED (not just regenerated) with 0% soot is it going to be filled up again unless there are issues elsewhere in the car? The inspector opened the hood but didn't even investigate the car properly. Inconsistent and liars. Believe the 1-star reviews, if your finance brokers assign these people to the case then know you are about to be lied to.

My request for an urgent appointment was accommodated, the engineer showed up when he promised, he took 35 mins to provide me a comprehensive verbal debrief on the car. The report was provided promptly and at 24 pages was detailed and comprehensive. Will recommend and use again

My experience has been wonderful. From the phone call with James to the engineer Mr Cooper coming to examine my car. I'm based in Birmingham and they came and examined my car to see if the job the chosen garage by the insurance was done to standard. They were very thorough and did their own inspections without any information from either side. I can't recommend them enough to inspect a vehicle if youre not satisfied with a repair job.

This company can be fully trusted with your vehicle inspection. They are honest and trustworthy giving an independent inspection that reflects their integrity.They are not influenced by biased opinions and look at the facts resulting in an unbiased and fair out come for both parties. There is too much corruption in business dealings today. In my opinion although the investigation went my way before the TMO, their independent opinion was not influenced by me. They can be trusted which is what one wants.

This company is honest reliable and courteous they dealt with my query and request effectively and formally. I couldn’t of asked for a better company to inspect my vehicle the wording is clear concise and practical. I 100% recommend this company to anyone as they are fast and as professional as they come. Keep up the good work and I am happy with the service from start to finish.

I had 2 vehicles inspected. The first one had issues I would not have picked up on and would have cost me a lot of money to fix. I was told to walk away, glad I did.

The second one had a couple of issues that needed sorting, before purchase they are being rectified. These issues would have cost me almost half a grand so once again I saved money by having an inspection carried out.

I would recommend this company and I'll be using them again.

We had Scotia sent to us from advantage finance due to car being faulty 4 weeks after purchase, various emails and calls back and fourth to dealer and not getting us nowhere advantage sent a pleasant man out who took his time to check over vehicle and drive around with us waiting for the fault to happen , we had various videos of the fault and showed him but he needed to see it happen himself, eventually it did happen and this was recorded in his report. However the car was deemed not fit for purpose but he believed the car WAS fit for purpose at point of sale unless we could provide evidence otherwise.

Spoke to previous owner of vehicle and they confirmed that the car had been returned back to the same garage we purchased it from with the same faults, forwarded on all correspondence from previous owner and scotia have now confirmed the car had underlying issues when we purchased it and therefor have deemed the car not fit for Purpose at point of sale. I can only thank the gentleman who attend to inspect the vehicle for his patience and understanding.
We are now currently in the process of vehicle rejection

CarFinance247 sent someone out to check my vehicle that i have only had for 4 months, it’s 5 years old with 33kmiles on when purchased, since having the vehicle I had only done 2kmiles and the gearbox has broken. This company put it down to wear and tear, ridiculous!

Now I’ve got to pay out to replace a whole gearbox after purchasing an £8000 car! Wear and tear after 2k miles I don’t think so definitely a scam between this company and CarFinance247.

Consumer rights act 2015 states car should be of satisfactory quality doing what you’d expect for its age, mileage and price so how this engineer was able to put it down to wear and tear after very little time and miles is very questionable.

this moron said as y high level brake light worked at the the time of the mot that the car didn't have water leak when purchased
if this moron was a mot inspector he would know high level brake light is not part of the mot test unless you can proves it is wired up here's reference from the inspection manual >
Additional stop lamps, over and above the mandatory requirements, must be tested. However, if you are not sure if they are connected, you should give the benefit of the doubt.
