Hi Hayley

I phoned you after you tried to do a chargeback on a 5 roll order, you did not notify us that you returned 1 roll to our supplier and I was only notified this after checking with them, you had not contacted us once.

When I phoned to check if this was a mistake you started by saying I dont usually answer “Scottish” telephone numbers as you never know if its a scam, in a rude manner.

I explained that this sounded derogatory and gave the refund for the 1 roll and rejected the refund for the full order.

Interesting choice of words “scam” when you tried to do a chargeback on an order you got and used then told us “if we can’t handle Klarna then we shouldn’t use it” so you should just expect people to ask for refunds on goods they have received and got.

We dont typically take back part orders either as batches move on which we would have notified you of should you have tried to contact us, never the less we refunded the roll.

And it seems you have taken to our platforms to try and cause further damage.


Thank you for the feedback but on this occasion we have to have standards and that’s not acceptable.

Hello Deb, you placed your order on the 9th and this was a Saturday it was processed on the 11th and we emailed you the following, these products do take 3-5 working days. We rely on the supplier sending you tracking via text as we did provide your telephone number to them for this.

I am sorry you are unhappy but it does give you a delivery date when checking out online. This was our email to you on the 11th which I think you must have missed if you are writing this review.

Hi Julia,

You ordered a fabric that was uploaded with the wrong price and upon us placing this with the supplier we realised that we would then be paying for your fabric. which no business would do knowingly, so we contacted you to tell you of the situation and that a mistake had been made, the fabric you paid £68 per metre for is actually retailed at £128 per metre, we were willing to give it to you for £102.40, therefore we were not in a position to accept this sale anymore.

we got in touch with you to offer you 20% off the full retail price, which is a fair offer.

We also have in our Ts and Cs to cover a scenario like this where a mistake has been made that we have the right to contact the customer to offer them a counter price (a good discount) or cancel the order.

The only abuse that was received was by yourself and your awful attitude towards our staff here at select wallpaper as you kept pointing out how unfair it was to you.

We accept and take full responsibility that there was a mistake and were trying to meet you half way on the price, you started shouting down the phone that "this is not how business works" and that we had "taken your money" (you placed the order online) and then how "trading standards should know about this" and that you were leaving us a horrible review because you weren't getting your own way and we were not willing to pay for YOUR fabric, this is why the conversation turned nasty, and maybe you should check how you are speaking to people in future.

thank you for your feedback many people do have a good experience with us, i am sorry we were unable to meet your requirements on this occasion, we cannot afford to make losses of hundreds of pounds and anyone reasonable would understand this.

you weren't interested in the actual price of this fabric with a healthy discount therefore we cancelled and refunded your order.

we will hang up on anyone shouting down the phone having a tantrum as we are not here to take that.

Hi Colin

When ordering a wallpaper you had 7 years ago, it would be reasonable to order a sample to check it will match prior to ordering two rolls of this, as i explained we offer free samples. This was your choice, you also got a very good discount on your order to begin with.

We are charged 20% restocking from our suppliers and unfortunately this was deducted from your refund after we covered for the goods to be returned at our cost.

i also explained that this has always been our policy, being a small business and that the 20% restocking is unavoidable, i am sorry you are disappointed and feel a 1 star review is a reasonable thing to do to a small business.

your order was delivered on time and quickly, you are entitled to your opinion, but perhaps it isn't all just our fault that you ordered a wallpaper without checking first that it was correct.

the customer isn't always right.
