Called early yesterday morning because I had a plumbing emergency. A pipe busted in the wall behind my toilet in the middle of the night & it flooded my house! I had to cut my water off, so I didn't have any water. Service Today took my information & said someone would be contacting me back in about an hour. We'll no one ever called me back the entire day. I contacted another local company & they came out within a couple of hours, made a materials list, & gave me an estimate. They're returning today to complete the work. Service Today, finally just called
me back.They asked if I still needed a plumber. REALLY!?! Unbelievable! Very unprofessional! I will never use this company now or in the future. I went with Comfort Plus, & I highly recommend them!

We needed a new water heater which we felt was overpriced but we had no hot water so we accepted the quote (the heater has now been fitted and we are happy with it)
Our problem was with communication as the initial guy promised us he would be here in the morning at 8am - which we had asked for as we had an appointment later that morning which we couldnt miss - He was adamant they would turn up but when it got to 9am they hadnt arrived so we rang the office and was told they were on their way.This was a downright lie as 1 hour later they still hadnt arrived. We rang again to see where they were but she couldnt really say so we told her we had to go out so we had to reschedule.We were 4 days without hot water! Our point is there was no telephone call to keep us informed and no apology - the main point being why did the initial guy promise so definitely they would be there at 8am - we do not call this good customer service !!!

I would never ever recommend anyone using Service Today to do any work in or around their home. They are a company that rips off people (especially older retired ones) by grossly overcharging/overquoting on all their work. On May 29th this year I had a toilet cistern that needed to be replaced so I contacted that company thinking they were a local company and I support local. They said that the toilet would also need to be replaced and I agreed to their quote of around $1028.16 thinking that this was the usual charge by most plumbers. The chap talked me into becoming a VIP Member (for $143) that entitled me to a discount of $100 and no call-out fee for any future work they were asked to do. I found out later that the toilet system they installed cost around $220 which meant that they charged $800 to install it. After contacting them and telling them that they had ‘ripped’ me off I asked for a refund of my VIP Membership money. They informed me that as there was administration fees involved I could only get $60 back. So I decided to let it go knowing that I would not have to pay a call-out fee for any future quotes.
On May 28th I contacted Service Today to get them to come and give me a quote on installing a pendent light knowing that I wouldn’t have to pay a call-out fee. Their quote was a ridiculous $950 but, because I was a VIP Member, it would only be $870. A local electrician installed it for $200.

They charged me a new hot water system more than double the price then the other suppliers. The trades man are great, but the price just a rip-off!

I contacted what I believed was a local company, which is what they were advertised, but have since learned they are part of Service Today. I had two jobs I needed done. One was to repair a cracked pipe on the outside of the house and the other was remove tree roots from a stormwater pipe. They said they did both.
They arrived, looked at the roots in the stormwater pipe and said it was too blocked to clear, but they would run their camera up the pipe to see how badly blocked it was. They were here for about 40 mins, charged $770 for the two jobs and then quoted $6600 to replace the blocked stormwater pipe.
I spoke to a genuine local plumber, who said that they hear 100s of stories just like mine, about people dealing with Service Today and that they are ridiculously overcharging people left, right and center, killing the industry.
Have since been told that the positive feedback on their website is fake and they have a way of removing negative feedback.
Avoid at all costs.

I called Servicetoday to check my brivis central ,the callout fee was $189,the tech took 20 minutes to assess and gave me a quote of $1169 to replace the Interface,I said no I can't afford that it's way too much,he started explaining if you replace the whole unit will be more expensive ,the repair is the best way to go.I said I'll think about it and give you a call within the 30 days validity of the quote.Once he left I jumped online and research the part ,I was shocked it was $195 and has only 7 tiny cables to connect.I will never trust or recommend servicetoday ,they rip people off.

Expensive and incomplete service with no effort made to rectify the issue in a reasonable manner. Unprofessional and an overall a negative experience. Literally the worst plumbing service I've received. Do not use this service.

My elderly father in law was quoted 1768.04 to replace 2 safety switches in a switchboard like for like with no upgrades required to the current board. We had 2 other quotes done and the most expensive was $270 which included replacing another switch on top of the 2 original ones.

On top of this we were charged $49 just to have the quote done as they will not discuss pricing over the phone. When calling to query the quote we were told we would have to pay for another call out to discuss pricing of jobs.

Alert your family members not to go ahead with a quote unless they receive multiple other quotes.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Plumber from service today came to look at an issue and told me I needed a new hot water system. Quoted me $4k which seemed high. Eventually got one installed for $1800. After installation, I still didn't have hot water. New plumber said i didn't need a new hot water system and fixed the actual problem with supply. Now I'm out of pocket for 2 plumbers and a hot water system I didn't need. The plumber from service today was useless. And they wanted to quote $4 for a system I didn't need.
Stay away.

On Sunday 12/05 I google searched for plumbing services near me.
I selected expert local plumbing from the link below as they were closest to me. It came up as O'halloran Hill plumbers which is the suburb next to mine. I then used the virtual chat option to get a quote but instead was told that they will send the plumber over. $49 callout fee would be waived off if I accept the quote. As I intended to get the work done, I did not think much of it.

The plumber comes home on Monday. The plumber is from a company called Service Today. These are not the same people as the website (evident in the invoice, websites and screenshot).
I show him the tap which needs to be closed tightly so as to stop water from dripping. I ask him to replace the washer. The plumber proceeds to give me a quote of $333.00. I could not believe it, so I asked why they were so expensive and he tells me you should call someone local instead- which I thought they were based on their website. I refuse to continue with the work due to the exhorbitant quote but still get asked to pay the call out fee of $49.00

I then contact Service Today and lodge a formal complaint asking them to refund the call out fee as they were misleading people with false advertising. The original website also had a $0.00 callout fee if booked online which is why I had booked online. When I raise my concern regarding the exhorbitant prices they admit that I was given an incorrect quote and it should have been around $210.00 not $333.00.
I therefore explain that my intentions were to get the work done. Had I been given the correct quote in the first place, I would have continued with the work and not have to pay the call out fees. However they refused.

I also tried changing my google search to plumber near hallett cove and the SAME website comes up with name updated (attached). It is evident that they are fooling people because they do not honour the quotes on the website. They then give you an offer to waive off the call out fee if we agree to the quote knowing fully well most of the people would not continue with the work due to the ridiculous quotes. Despite them admitting to have provided an incorrect quote, they refused to refund the amount.

They turned up a day after I made the booking for, giving me the excuse that a "new" staff member gave me the wrong info. Without any testing other than turning a couple of valves he told me my solar hot water system was crap and I need a new one. He quoted me just over $4000 to replace it. When I said I will discuss with my wife he immediately took $1000 off the quote which made me think how much the first quote was ripping me off. I am getting a new unit from elsewhere for $2400. They asked for feedback and of course I never heard anything back. Shame on them in this economic environment. You have been warned.

Needed an electrician and booked via Servicetoday.com.au. The guy came within the promised time frame. He was courteous and got the job done. Thank you. However, the pricing from these guys is beyond ridiculous. More than 500AUD for a job completed in less than an hour. I only accepted the 'fixed quote' as I was under time pressure and didn't want to waste the call out fee. Be careful. I feel totally ripped-off. There was no indication up front about their hefty prices. Michael

These scammers tried to charge me $925 to connect a tap. $45 call out fee and $880 for the 1 hour install????

Replacement of water pipes in Glen Waverley Vic -
Ben, Trent and Manny turned up at the allotted time, completed the task promptly and neatly. They also discovered what could have been serious problems with excessively high water pressure and leaking valve on the hot water unit. Both issues were resolved while they were on site.

The work was done to our satisfaction and they also effectively cleaned up the site on completion.

Rip off merchants! $1200 for less than an hour's electrical work!

Job no.570676. Call out fee $150 only to be quoted $1200 to fix leak and regas on aircon. Turns out it was a motor that needed to be changed over $550. Spoke to customer service. Refused to refund my $150 even though quote was a complete work of fiction. As advised by the repairer to go to consumer affairs because not only would I have been out of pocket $1200 it wouldn’t have fixed it and they would’ve had my on the hook for more. Luckily the repairer also gave me a report to escalate matters if need be. Scam company.

Not the first time I've used Service today, as previous the work was done efficiently and well. Ely was quite pleasant and friendly.

Ridiculous price on a Ducted Air Conditioning job
I recently had a disappointing experience with Service Today and feel compelled to share my frustration. I called them to address inadequate air flow in tow of my bedrooms, that turned out to be a financial nightmare.
I had Daiken Air conditioner with 4 ducted zones.
To resolve the issue, they proposed me to install the AirTouch 5 system with 6 zones/sensors.
First and foremost, their pricing is absolutely outrageous. They charged a jaw-dropping $3225.53
(scope: Replace existing 4 ducted zones with 6 zones). Job No. 589885

The other supplier quoted me $2300 i.e. $900 less, for the same job.

The job was just started and I called the sales guy, he said he can’t do anything and has to pay as agreed.
I trusted these guys that they will give me fair pricing and they breached my trust.
In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering Service Today for their services needs to look elsewhere. The combination of astronomical pricing and poor communication make this company an unfortunate choice for anyone seeking reliable and fair assistance. Save yourself the hassle and find a more reputable and customer-focused service.

Well…where do I start. The father in law had a block sewerage pipe, which the plumber locate, once he used the camera and jet cleaner. He told my father in law we’re the blockage was and marked it on the grass, between the septic tank and edge of the concrete slab. Wait for it… he quote to replace the 1/2 mtr pipe would cost …..$9000 and yes $9000. The plumber was excellent, but this company is absolutely a joke. Everyone who is reading this please please stay away. That is a joke $9000…..what for a 2hr job. I work in the construction industry for over 30yrs as a builder and was upset my father in law didn’t ring me. I have plumber going over there to fix it for $1200. Prey on the elderly. Absolutely disgusting.
