Pricing is an absolute rip off.
Quoted over $5K to replace a hot water system and repair 2 toilet inlet valves. When questioned, 1 inlet valve replacement ($577) removed from quote.
Went to another plumber and whole job was around $3K.

Plumber rang 2 hours after the appointed time. Then he tells me about a "roof fee" of somewhere around $200 on top of the call out fee. So I cancelled the booking. Be cautious when booking with them.

CEO requests fake 5 star reviews. Management are fully aware they are ripping you off. Customer service and dispatch team bear the brunt of customer complaints when it's usually management or a tradie issue. The whole business model is sales, you might only need a washer changed but our guys will find $13000 worth of ridiculous repairs to quote you on. CEO also changes the prices whenever he wants to suit how he feels that day. Management are completely out of touch, the office staff are overworked and under valued and the tradesmen are treated like livestock, just another set of hands to bring in money for the CEO.

Deceptive Booking & Massive Overcharge – Please Read Before Booking!

I searched online for someone to repair a leaking water heater and came across a website prominently advertising “Same Day Hot Water Service” with my suburb name. It looked like I was booking directly with a trusted company that claims to be Australia’s largest and cheapest online retailer of hot water systems.

But when the technician arrived, he was from a completely different company—Service Today. He quoted $3,800 to replace my Rheem 315L electric hot water system. I had already seen the exact same unit listed on the Same Day Hot Water Service website for $1,940 installed, and I showed this to him. He dismissed it, claiming companies often quote low online but increase the cost later.

Trusting the urgency of the situation and not realizing I wasn’t dealing with the actual company I intended to, I agreed. Later, I learned my neighbor had the same unit installed by the real Same Day Hot Water Service for under $1,940.

I’ve reported this incident to both the ACCC and QBCC, as I believe this was misleading and predatory.

I was shocked by how expensive this is! The price is ridiculously high for what you get. I expected premium quality and top-notch service, but it was completely underwhelming

I needed my split system air-conditioning recharged after it had a minor leak. Service Today came the same day and charged a call out fee of $89 for which they photographed the data plate on the inside unit and gave a quote of $1181.05 or $1241.39 and gave a large amount of sales spiel. They didn't look at the outside unit. I subsequently had it serviced and recharged for $120. My advice is under no circumstances call them. Wayne

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Service Today. After moving into a new home with a solar hot water system, we encountered issues with getting hot water on rainy days. We called Service Today for advice, and their technician came to assess the situation. Instead of explaining how to use the booster system (which we later learned was the solution), the technician advised us to replace the entire system.

Following their advice, we spent $5,440 on a new system, only to find out during installation (by a different company) that the existing system was perfectly fine—we simply didn’t know how to operate the booster.

When I contacted Service Today to report this, I was promised a follow-up from management, which never happened. As a result, we wasted a significant amount of money due to their technician’s poor advice and lack of follow-up. I am extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend this company to anyone.

Please do not call this company, they over charge and the work is shady, shame on this company for the way they do business we call to get our ac fixed and they could not fix it but they pored 1000.00 for Freon for 5 pound and Shaun said that it all when into the ground in 10 minutes they are a SCAM Company, please don’t waste your time or Money.

Firstly, the plumber did not attend on the day. I phoned and rearranged attendance and was assured that call out fee would be waived.Plumber efficiently fixed the problem in less than 15 minutes without a need for replacement parts or components. I was charged $250. This equates to $1000 per hour. This is excessive in the extreme. Gave feedback to Service Today but did not receive a response. I would advise that you do not use this service. It's a rip off.

The quote(s) left the first one not viable and the send dearer quote totally gold plated with unrequired extra infrastructure by upgrading an ordinary home with no special requirements to 3 phase capability. A dodgy fuse on the box where the line from the lamp post enters cost me over $12,000.

A simple job of electrical & plumbing work they made them look complicated and charged me many times over. To say they are expensive is an understatement, they will rip you apart. I was charged close to $8000.00. They take you for a ride and I was a victim. They promised to refund $200.00 after numerous emails but in fact they overcharged me more than $4000.00 on both jobs. Don’t you ever go to them and tell your friends as well.

Make a booking and ask them to call you half an hour beforehand - they don't.

Make a booking - they lose the booking and don't turn up.

Accept a booking & they do shoddy work.

$271 for what was a 15-30 min job with me doing all the dirty and hard work before the technician arrived is simply ridiculous sorry. Also he used no materials or special tools.

The technician last job was also very close it was not that he had to travel a long way etc.

The technician was good by the way but I assume it's the company prices that are ridiculous and not what he charges etc.

I would have been happy to pay a high but realistic\fair $150-$200 including a reasonable callout fee for up to 1 hrs work. Your advertised $49 callout fee is somewhat misleading given I was charged another $222 for max 30 min work.

I had hoped you were not yet another "rip-off" vendor I could rely on and do repeat business with as I have 3 rental properties. I am always looking for good handyman\plumbing\electrical services at a reasonable\fair price.

I will keep looking it would seem.

We were very impressed with the work done by electricians Zac and Cameron. They replaced our old switch board, an exhaust fan and a few powerpoints. They were very knowledgeable and their skills were excellent. They were efficient, neat, punctual and very pleasant. We highly recommend them.

This company must be full of retardz. I booked in an appointment from 12pm - 4pm. I called at 3pm to confirm if anyone is coming, they confirmed and said Yes. It's 4:15pm, nobody here. I called and they said that they make a mistake and it was for Monday. How dumb is this company. I called and confirmed and they confirmed that someone is coming and now it's monday. Who is running this Business

Rip off company stay clear get more quotes especially Aircon installations.

I never seen such a crapy quote for just replacing 4 down lights.
They attract you with the low call out fee and then give quote with high price ( 4 lights 1090$) .

I think this callous fee is new way of scam.
Don't get trapped

Just wanted to warn you, they insist they can't provide an estimate without seeing the work first. They charge $49 just to come to your place and then tell you that you need to pay $411 for fault finding. That's what happened to me – the technician didn't do anything but tell me about the $411 fault-finding fee. I asked for any potential cost over the phone, but they didn't mention this fee beforehand. When I tried to raise the issue with the company, Adam called me back. He was rude and didn't listen to why I was upset. You can find plenty of better options with more reasonable prices and the same quality of work.

WARNING! Extremely bad customer service. Sucked me $14500 for a 2x half day job. And the problem why I got them out is not solved. I complained that the problem is not solved yet but they don't care. They just claim they completed the job. The only thing they cared about is sucking my money. My house got a blocked drain and I explained to them that it was smelly since I moved into this house 1 month ago. They came out quickly and inspected the drain. Then told me it would cost over $18000 to reline the whole drain. And that this would be my only option. I said I would have to think about it and they quickly came down to $14500. I had a bad feeling this would be a rip off. But with a screaming girlfriend in the back and with new tenants moving in in a few days, I agreed to get it fixed by Service Today. I asked if this would guaranteed fix the problem permanently. They promised me a life long warranty on everything. Quote "This is a forever fix. If the pipe breaks again, we come back to fix it for free. Life long." Service Today seems to be a big company I thought this would be good when it comes to a life long warranty, so I chose them. For a price of $14500 I also thought this job would be a very big one and would take several days to complete. But it only took them 1 guy for less than 1 hours for the assessment (They wanted to charge $850 for that in case I don't continue further with them.)
And then 3 guys for about half a day on the first day and max. few hour on the second day. So all together this job probably took 1 day for 3 guys and that for $14500. And the best is still to come... The drain is still very smelly. We complained and were told to write a diary, which we do and which says smell everyday. Now we are getting ignored. Nobody came out to check it again. Nothing. They don't care. I got a bad feeling they did a incomplete/bad job but I can't look into the drain myself. When it comes to the invoice. Even though we agreed to a fixed price of $14500, they wanted to charge me more at first. Then I had to complain about the price several times until they accepted the $14500 that we agreed on in the beginning. Their first invoices also stated a 1 year warranty. Then I had to negotiate with them about the warranty. In the end I got an invoice saying "25 years warranty on relining material and 0 warranty on material". They refuse to give me the life time warranty on everything which they promised and why I booked with them. I got big doubts that I will get any warranty of them at all since the problem why I got them out is still persistent and they refuse to do anything about it. They say my 1 month old washing machine would be the reason for the sewer smell.

Leaking shower tap. Booked with service today. Guy came and spent 2 minutes taking tap off and diagnosing mixer cartridge needed replacing. Cost = $850. I nearly fainted. I told him i would get a 2nd quote. He said i would need to pay the $49 call out fee PLUS $360.00 for the "work" he had done so far. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager then waived the $360 "work" and asked "only" for the $49 call out. I then rang a local plumber who fixed for $265.00. It's no wonder people are weary of tradespeople with companies like this on the prowl.
