The service was good, arranging it was easy. I needed a courtesy car and that was available. The only reason why I have given it a4 star is because after I kept getting emails from the dealership asking why I hadn't had my car serviced. After the 3rd email I rang and it has all been sorted.

Reported a fault with my Tesla Model 3 to SG Petch in December 2025. I was told parts were on back order. Tesla Newcastle confirmed the same parts were in stock and available to collect the same day.
Returned in January 2026 as requested for photos to submit a warranty claim and was promised a repair date. No date ever came. No contact was made.
Parts were apparently ordered and then cancelled without anyone telling me. I only found this out through a Financial Ombudsman investigation.
Was told by the finance provider that repairs were imminent — that was over six weeks ago. Still nothing.
I paid £158.40 out of my own pocket for an independent Tesla diagnostic because the dealership failed to progress the repair. I also lost earnings on two occasions taking unpaid leave from work to chase a repair that never happened.
124 days later, the car remains unrepaired, no booking has been offered, and the last communication I received suggested I chase them myself.
I have now raised a formal complaint with the Motor Ombudsman.

Recently purchased a car from SG Petch BYD Darlington and honestly cannot fault their customer service. I dealt with salesman James from start to finish. On my first visit I was unsure what car I wanted. James took some specifics on what I wanted and sent them over to me to look at with no pressure. Would highly recommend.

Computer system upgrade required so vehicle booked in at dealer request . However, visit proved unnecessary as the system had, apparently, upgraded itself! Staff always pleasant, polite and helpful and customer service good. Only gripe was the requirement to pay £12 insurance to borrow a courtesy car: given that the booking was a Kia recall requirement, shouldn’t Kia have paid for this?

Due to a fractured arm I was unable to take my car for its annual service/mot. I was offered a pick up and drop off for my vehicle, which I very gratefully accepted.
I was kept up to date with work done and required.
Exceptional customer service and great work from the servicing team.

Smashed rear driver side window . Replacement ordered given a date for repair. Repaired in no time. Service from start to finish great. Would 100% Recomend

Having a Kia Stinger I was expecting the service cost to high, But turned out to be very reasonable, always collected and delivered my car same day for me too. I can not fault them at all, probably best after care I've ever had.
This was from a few years ago, I since changed my car to a Nissan X-Trail hybrid. tried a different place first service with it being a Nissan, was not a good experience, so this year came straight back SG Petch. Pick up car, service wash and clean inside, then return it same day.

First class service can not give them high enough praise... Also cost was very reasonable.

Nick at Petch of York was extremely patient and helpful. From test drive to buying the vehicle he was there to help - nothing was too much trouble. Very informative on the vehicles capabilities conveyed in an easy to understand way.

Achieving the near impossible! SG Petch found the exact Mazda we were looking for when our searches had miserably failed. They kept us informed all the way through the purchasing and delivery process. Could not have been more help.

Shocking behaviour of Liam Clarke from SG petch middleabrough abusive threating to myself when entering the place to make a service appointent for the car. I felt alarmed and distressed

Can't fault anything, so helpful and the full team were brilliant and Tony the salesman is fantastic at his job and made everything easy.

We came to look for a car for our daughter, and we found Jodie.
We had a good chat with her, went through lots of different options.
Then we went to at least 4 other local garages - and came back.
We ordered the car the same day.

We were more than happy with the staff at S.G. Petch especially Peter MC as they were attentive without being pushy.
Not all went smoothly but this was easily resolved without fuss. We would definitely consider using them again in the future and will recommend them to family and friends.

I have been buying cars from SG Petch (Skippers lane Middlesbrough) since about 2013.
I always get first class service and a deal which I am happy with.
The staff are great, very helpful and efficient. I have been dealing with Tony Hill for 13 years and find his service to be excellent. I also get the impression that the other sales staff are just as good.
I would strongly recommend SG Petch to anyone looking for a new car.

After reading reviews regarding this company, I decided to visit them myself, and I was not disappointed. On arrival, I was greeted by Gary, who showed me the cars I was interested in and then left me alone to decide if I wanted to take any for a test drive. At no time did I feel pressured into buying.
