Managed the whole process of importing a vintage Camper van from Australia to the door in Plymouth. The portal provided information on the progress but the reasons for some delays of the process could have been explained in more depth. Phone calls and emails were answered promptly and the people we spoke to very helpful. Would recommend.

SmC initially handled my Nova registration for my self-imported (EU) car. Apart from an inexplicable hitch with my application reaching HMRC (and I know, I should have chased it sooner) they were efficient and knowledgeable.
I retaliation (😂) for above mentioned hitch, I did phone them with any amount of questions when the DeViLA rejected my first and second application.
Subsequently I also did the registration through SmC and it worked! They seemed genuinely pleased when I phoned them yesterday with the good news.
I this jungle of post-Brexit bureaucracy they were a beacon of calm. Thank you for keeping me sane.

Not impressed ! Never get back to you, when they say they do. Obviously customers are low down on their list!

You had all the info you needed to quote on 2nd July.
I called you on Monday 6th and was told I would have the quote later that day or Tuesday. Nothing.
Called Friday 10th, put through but number just rang and had to call back and raise an issue.
I then get an email later Friday telling me nothing. 8 days later .

After a terrible experience from a like vendor in the Bristol area, I asked ShipMyCar to help me register my cars. Their approach was entirely different from the last vendor; they refused to take any payment for services until I understood what documents would be needed to register my car. Both the Melissa and Josh team were extremely knowledgeable, professional and patient. The cost of their services was substantially less than the previous vendor and for the same scope. Any challenges they met with the import factor, they resolved quickly and effectively. I would recommend this company to anyone. Great experience, my cars are now on the road and I couldn't be happier. Without any doubt this company is 5 Stars!!!!

My experience is that the service is very mediocre. The platform that handles the emails is clearly run by AI and they very seldom reply to questions properly. I shipped my car from Japan to the UK myself and then gave it to this company to handle the IVA testing and DVLA registration. They gave me an initial quote but very dishonestly it kept on changing. They promised to replace the speedometer from km to miles but all they did is attach to the dashboard a clunky speedometer leaving the old one untouched. That is not what I call a replacement. It is entirely a DIY job and it looks extremely ugly. I will have to pay someone more professional to remove it. In the quote I was charged for fitting a rear fog light and then they told me that they could get me a bespoke one rather than a generic one, but it is inexplicable why I was still charged for both. It would be one or the other, right?

In addition, inexplicable charges for an additional £400 were mysteriously added and I didn't get a convincing answer. They gave me some spiel about driving the car to the test centre - but that should be part of the initial quote I would have thought. They are very unprofessional and the account on the platform magically appears with more and more charges so I would not recommend this company because they have no notion of what it is to stick to a quote.

Fantastic service will definitely use again

ShipMyCar are a great company in my view. They dealt with the complexities of getting a scooter (which I had bought for my daughter) through the NOVA process and special mention and praise for Nick, who was a lifesaver and a real credit to the organisation!

OUR CAR WAS STOLEN !!!!!!!

I had an extremely stressful experience with Ship My Car in Milton Keynes after my car was stolen while it was in their care for less than 48 hours in December 2025.

Unfortunately, the problems started well before the theft. The vehicle was left sitting at Southampton Port for around 7 weeks before being collected despite us repeatedly calling and chasing them to arrange pickup. This level of delay and lack of organisation was extremely frustrating and set the tone for the rest of the experience.

Communication throughout was also very poor. Phone calls regularly went unanswered and it often felt as though they simply avoided picking up the phone when they recognised the caller. When you are dealing with something as important as vehicle importation and custody of a high value asset customers should not have to constantly chase for updates.

Another major issue involved the IVA test. We were told the earliest appointment they could arrange was two months away. After taking matters into our own hands and contacting the DVSA directly we managed to secure an appointment the very next day which raises serious questions about how proactively Ship My Car were actually managing the process.

The situation escalated significantly when our car was stolen from their Milton Keynes facility on 14th December. In our view this represents serious negligence. Regardless of whether thieves forced entry onto the premises they should never have been able to access the vehicle keys at all. We were told the key lock box may have been pried open with a tool. If that is the case then storing keys in a small lock box is completely inadequate for a facility holding high value vehicles. Keys should be kept in a secure floor mounted safe or stored offsite not somewhere that can be easily forced open.

As of now, just shy of 3 months after the theft, we have still not received an insurance payout and just get the " we will update you when we can", we remain at a loss of approximately £42,000+. The lack of resolution and accountability has made an already stressful situation even worse. Because of this we will be pursuing legal action against Ship My Car.

Based on our experience I strongly recommend that others think very carefully before using this service. The delays, lack of communication and ultimately a serious security failure resulted in a very costly and frustrating experience for our family.

Also while reading through the reviews we could not help but notice the large number of perfect 5 star reviews that have appeared over the last few days many from accounts that seem to have only started leaving reviews since February 2026, Funny that.

I bought a car online and needed a reliable auto transport service to deliver it to my home. The shipping agent coordinated smoothly with the dealer and scheduled everything perfectly. The car arrived in excellent condition and the whole experience was stress free.

I used ShipMyCar to bring my 1966 Ford Mustang over from the States and honestly the whole thing was far less stressful than I expected. From the shipping arrangements through to arrival in the UK, everything was handled professionally and clearly explained.

A total disaster...Let's start at the end:
- My imported car was stolen (along with several other cars) from SMC "secure facility" on Dec 14th.
- In 8 weeks since I had just one call from SMC…in which they asked for a payment!
- My car failed its IVA test, the car having been with SMC for 2 months to prepare it.
- On arrival in the UK port my car (and cars belonging to my partner) wasn't cleared for over 3 weeks.
- On collection of our cars in Dubai they then sat for 4 weeks in the hot sun without being shipped. When inspected they were baking and covered in sand.
- On collection of the vehicle(s) from my house they lost one registration plate, requiring me to attend a police station for 8 hours to resolve it. SMC did not help or apologize.
The highly trained driver who collected my car…it was in fact his first day at work and I had to load the car for him.

It has now been over 7 months waiting for my car and dealing with Nick and Kingsley. They have been dismissive, rude, and passive aggressive throughout. There is no aspect of this these people or their company that is smooth, professional, or caring in any way.
In the beginning Nick and Kingsley were very helpful, friendly and cooperative.
I was advised by SMC that their insurance will cover the loss. But since then there has been no contact or updates, so now they have a lawsuit.
I have photos and correspondence that supports every detail of this review.

Excellent Service and updates throughout the process. Removed all the stress of dealing with red tape involved with the importing a vehicle into the UK.

Grade A service Kingsley is a fountain of knowledge- not a problem he cannot solve

We contacted about getting a car on ROI plates registered in the uk. Had to chase several times to get a response. In the end up we left it and found another company.
Wouldn’t recommend these at all.

The info@shipmycar has been cc’d in every email. I suggest you speak to Kingsley and ask him about the email thread begging with - Type approval VIN:….. as he is part of the whole chain. The past communication we had from
Him was the 10th of November and he has been chased twice since and no reply at all.
We have since found another company who have after a week done more then you did in 3.
Again would honestly not recommend this company at all.
