They offer a good set of saving and investment opportunities; 1 wasn't available on the app when first I joined for some reason, arranged a call, they explained the products and said they'd fix the unavailability. Next day, got an email and it was done.

Wish I’d read trust pilot first instead of Martin Lewis. What a nightmare. Took my money then asked for various documents, left my savings in pending. Why take my monies then ask for various documents!! Communication Breakdown!! Get me out of this one.

Tried to open a savings account. App said that they were reviewing my application. I've never had this issue with any other bank etc. I waited a few days and them tried to contact customer services via the app. The app said someone would respond in 3 hours but they never replied so I opened an account with another provider instead which was up and running instantly. The Sidekick app is still saying they are reviewing my application and it's been 9 days now.

Very good account. Easy to use app. Lots of helpful emails/communications from Sidekick as well. Good interest rates - so far.

Great communications from customer service if you have to contact them

The only thing that stopped me giving this a 5 star review is the speed of transferring money in/out of the account. It's an "Easy access" account rather than an "instant account".

So far so good, good communication if you require help, competitive interest rates for savers, I feel comfortable using them for my savings.

Only works with a limited range of (solo) bank accounts. I queried why I couldn't connect my Co-Op Bank current account and received this reply: "Our open banking provider maintains the list of available banks shown in our app, and some banks and building societies may not integrate with them.

Unfortunately, if your banking provider is not on list, we would not be able to open an account for you at this time."

They should publish this list BEFORE one has gone through the palaver of ID checks etc. Not impressed.

I’m giving Kickstart a one-star review because that’s the lowest option available — if I could give zero, I would.

I invested money into their platform a few months ago and expected, at the very least, some basic support or guidance. Instead, I’ve experienced radio silence. No help getting set up, no clarity on where my money is, and no response to messages.

I’m no expert investor, but even I can see that money sitting stagnant in a supposedly active investing app is a red flag. Ironically, the market dipped while my funds were just sitting there — maybe a blessing in disguise, but it highlights how little control or clarity this platform gives you.

It’s easy to get pulled in by the slick interface and nice graphics — but under the surface, Kickstart is all flash and no substance. If you’re considering this app, don’t make the same mistake I did. Look elsewhere for a platform that actually values your investment and supports its users.

Great app and savings rate.

Been using Sidekick for about 6 months, very pleased with it. Super approachable app, lots of interesting options to try. Best interest rate for a savings account so would highly encourage younger savers with less cash to use their Savings account.

Never had any trouble with money movement like the other folks here are saying, but working in fintech myself I can understand the frustration but also the requirement.

Looking really forward to seeing what the Sidekick team continue to add to the app!

Unable to withdraw money from the Sidekick wallet, just shows "Something's gone wrong, please try again" - this is really frustrating and completely takes away from the instant access nature of the account. No support provided beyond 18:00, therefore, leaves me without cash, needing to pay bills. I would steer clear of this company

Opened an Account, Could not work out how to fund it.
I sent a message via the app asking for help or info.

Reply, Hi . I can confirm your Easy Access account is open. If you open the app and go to your home screen, there will be a new savings section with your savings pot there. You can add funds by clicking on the pot and adding cash to your wallet. Let me know if there's anything else that's unclear.
Gave up after following this info, as still could not work it out.

Great rates, easy to access. Clear communications and updates

I've been trying to withdraw my money for 3 days, after I realised that due to their multi step process, my money hasn't been earning any interest in the two months it's been there, but there are technical faults and no response from the support team which are causing undue frustration. I am resolved to take all my money out of here ASAP

No end of problems. Could not access my funds and the staff did not seem to care. Complained and closed my account. Definitely would not recommend.

Customer service appalling. Online chat never received a response.

I got Sidekick on 7 March and had to provide loads of documents just to open a Cash ISA. It's now 24 March and they haven't responded to me just to open my ISA. I gave up and asked to close my account 3 days ago and they haven't even responded to that. Can't wait to close my account, and will not be using Sidekick. Go for Trading 212 it's much better!

I like the concept and app and as a founding member I get an additional bonus on top of savings but this amount has already reduced significantly.

The main issue with sidekick is the constant security checks on deposits and withdrawals. Not only does this mean the funds aren’t earning interest, but it also means that the ‘easy access’ account isn’t quite that. If it’s not the funding bank delaying things it’s their ‘e-wallet provider’. I’m actually getting pretty annoyed about this now and as I’m
buying a house soon, I don’t trust them to leave a large amount there as inevitably checks kick in once I withdraw (or deposit) larger amounts and there’s no timescale on these. Yes they’ll say the compliance checks are normal but I’ve never experienced these so frequently and as a result I’m just not sure I’m happy to use them moving forward.

Whilst they offer competitive rates for now (to get new customers on board) be wary that they way behind the market leaders in terms of speed and ease of transactions.

Whether is £1 or £1000 that I transfer its always followed with a message "... As an extra precaution however, we need to run a few additional checks... " meaning the funds go missing for several hours minimum, but often days. This money will be lining their pockets with interest not the customers.

If it's too good to be true, it probably is, and this is the case with sidekick money unfortunately.

I cannot recommend the Sidekick Money app, as my experience with this company was deeply frustrating and eroded all trust. I transferred money through the app, only to have it placed on hold for a week while they questioned the source of the funds. After waiting that long, I sent an inquiry about my money but received no response. It wasn’t until a week later, after I sent a follow-up email to complain, that they finally replied. In the end, I withdrew all my funds and closed my account. I no longer trust this company and would strongly advise others to avoid using it.

I've had a great experience so far, seems like a new and dynamic approach to investing with fair prices and fees. Cash savings rates are some of the best, the app is smooth and clean, and regular communications keep you up to date with market news.
