Does not live up to the hype
I found it easy to set up the account, invest and deposit the money. However, getting money out is a completely different process. It takes 1-2 days from when you give the order to withdraw money for your money to be actually transferred to your account.
Also, when it came to investments, they took 5 (!) working days to sell my stocks from the time when I pressed the button asking them to sell. During which time the value of the stocks went down so instead of making money I lost some. Absolutely ridiculous performance for a managed investment.
I would advise against setting up an account with them.

Hi Ian, apologies that you have found deposits and withdrawals to be slower than you'd have liked. We strive to process payments as quickly as possible, but there is sometimes a delay depending on the time of day and day of the week that a payment is initiated. We work with partner banks and so most payments are usually completed in one working day.

I'm sure things will improve
Decent website, good offers. Disappointing for me personally, as evidently I didn't qualify for the flagship product despite transferring in a sizeable amount of cash! I also thought the drop in interest rate could have been communicated better, as I didn't even notice it at first.
Love, that the interest is calculated daily, you can therefore see your funds grow every day.
Hate, the fact they use Currency Cloud to manage their payments. They are the Primark of Payment providers. Money disappears for hours and hours, you'll be asked source of wealth questions, have to provide bank statements etc. In a modern, fintech world, with the power of open banking, companies like this should be made extinct.

Really getting concerned
Really getting concerned. Have previously placed money in savings but last 2 transactions of very large sums are pending and so cannot be put into my savings account.
They say they are doing Fraud prevention checks, but payments are only from my bank account of 45 years!
They have responded saying it may take a day to clear the funds, but this is not the issue. The issue is that they are demanding evidence of the source of the funds. So you cannot just move your saving from another account to here with ease. Specifically this is what they asked for when I tried to transfer in £20,000
“Source of Funds is the origin of the funds being used for your payment to Sidekick. Please provide one of the following:
- Savings: Last month’s account statement.
- Dividends: Copy of dividend certificate.
- Other – please state”

We may at times require additional information in order to process payments into Sidekick - this is part of our responsibility as a regulated business. I appreciate that can be concerning. I’m just confirming that your pending funds were returned to you.
Keep savings interest until end of month
It's easy to set up a savings account, and communication is generally good.
However, closing the account when their interest rate becomes uncompetitive, requires contacting Sidekick, withdrawing all of your deposit, and Sidekick finally closing the account. They then withhold the interest accrued until the end of the month! Sharp practice? Certainly unacceptable and Sidekick needs to be properly regulated.

I waited a month to have my application…
I waited a month to have my application approved! No way am I investing my savings with a company who takes so long. Gave them so much personal data too - I've made a request under GDPR for all my personal data gathered by them during the application process to be deleted. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.
