On hold over 3 and a half hours said it was going to be 120 minutes.Hung up at 7:00 when they close.Noone ever answered

I am on whole with the SSA and have been waiting to speak with someone for 1 hour now. I called the number 1800 772-1213. No one has picked up. I have just been staying on the line. The North Dallas office off 75 hung up on me twice when I called. Called a 3rd time to speak with my case worker and she ignored my call, sent my paper work to Austin, TX.. The lady in Austin never did send me any paperwork, she said that she sent to me. I have her number and ext. It's a Merry go round that they are playing with me, included is my daughter school that plays games also

2 calls and a 4 hour and 42 minute wait on hold...to check status of app. for medicare...ssa web site gave a 1 month time line the rep. I spoke to said 2 months...if the ssa web would have a more realistic time frame I would have save 5 hours...of course the phone rep. did not give a sh#t..I had an expectation of this government department to be very sucky and it did not disappoint. I hope they all get doge'ed.

I changed my phone number.
I made numerous phone calls in 23 but had to GO IN TWICE to get it taken care of. Fast forward to Dec 24. Same situ.
YOU CANNOT OFFER PPL ONE OPTION TO REET THEIR PROFILE INFO. YOU SENT ME 2 LETTERS WITH TEMP CODES AND I STILL CAN'T GET IN.
I've called numerous times to no avail.
I'VE BEEN ON HOLD FOR 2 HRS AND 45 MINUTES.
This is insane.

The online process was clear, sequential, user friendly, step-by-step directions, confidential. Great.

After being on hold for over three hours I had to finally give up to go to an appointment. I have tried various days and times over the past weeks and cannot reach anyone. All I need is a letter stating we do not qualify for Extra Help. I have wasted many hours with no results.

Racine social security office is a poor excuse for so called professional government business! They lazy and at this point very comfortable in their jobs due to the fact the found a way to lie to disabled people in order to get the out of their faces and off the phones.
They are hurting the disabled instead of helping.

Went to the Social Security office in West Palm Beach today to ask about my Medicare Part A status. I had made an appointment, was seen on time and received outstanding service. The security guards treated everybody entering the building with respect and were willing to answer questions and help, and the nice lady at the window was friendly and efficient. A very pleasant experience - thank you!

My wife and I had a telephone appointment scheduled by SSA a month ago for 9am this morning to verify our 42+ year marriage. Nobody called. I called the local office, after 15 minutes a recording said to call back later and hung up. It's now 10am and still no call. For whatever reason she can't complete here family benefit online from her account even though we've been married over 43 years and have been filing taxes every year. The local SSA office even had us come in to update here name change from 1984 only to tell us they already had it. All of the info they need the government already has from my 12 years in the military, but they don't talk to each other because that would make sense. The SSA needs immediate help from DOGE. Still waiting.

When the AI asks how to help say “agent”. Just keep yelling “agent” until one comes to the phone. Seems to react to being yelled at and the word agent.

SSA website is not that helpful to us seniors at all.

Whereas previously we could walk into an SSA office, now they won't let us in without an appointment. SSA requires us to use their website to get all services.

I tried to apply for Medicare by pressing the Apply Online link. After submitting the form, I simply got an error which read: "We cannot process your request.
We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we cannot process your request online. If you live within the U.S., our territories or commonwealths, you may call our toll-free number, 1-800-772-1213. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, call our toll-free "TTY" number, 1-800-325-0778. Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m."

If we need to call the 800 number, why is there the "Apply online" link? Calling the toll-free number proved totally useless; it simply played recorded announcements.

This is a US Government agency that is meant to serve the senior citizens who worked and paid taxes all their lives. At a time when they need the help that they paid for, there is absolutely no help.

I had mailed a paper copy of the Medicare application two weeks ago to an office that is fifteen miles from my home, but there is no way to find out if they got it! And without knowing if they got my enrolment application, I can't decide whether to buy medical coverage through my spouse's employer or not. And tomorrow is the deadline for their Open Enrolment!x

The SSA employees maybe professional and helpful people, but the system is not helping senior citizens at all. Keep in mind, most senior citizens have mobility and other health issues, and many have digital challenges, too. Mandating appointments, requiring seniors to do just about everything online, making it impossible to do certain things online, and making the scheduling process so complicated are issues that bring more misery to the lives of a lot of seniors.

Another ridiculous federal agency... I want to file for social security, but I know that if I file online, I would still have to call someone to get my questions answered during the process. I called early enough in the day, but apparently, all the employees are playing video games while getting paid to "work" at home... The original message told me to expect a hold time of 100 minutes - I've now been on hold for over 4 hours. .. Pretty sure their goal is just for us to give up. I have to wonder, are they unable to do their job because they have too many of their staff checking to see if we are saying anything that is true but deemed "misinformation" on facebook?... I guess I'd better take down my post about men not being able to get pregnant. I worked for the government and I may have to revise my estimate based on my years there, that for every one federal worker who works, there are at least 10 who just kind of hang around.

I have been on hold now for 3 hours and 13 minutes. The music keeps playing and message every 4 minutes says my call is important to them and someone will answer soon. I believe there system is broken. No other phone number to call but 800 772 1213.

I was calling on behalf of my husband. When the rep answers me, and he told me to talk to my husband. Before my husband can give him his answer. He hangs up. What kind of people work in security. Do have any consideration that they people talking is old and can barely hear them. Those employees they think them they're above the law. No manners. What a shame.

I'm a "Rep Payee" for my disabled sister's benefit. Repeatedly the SSA suspends her benefit for the lamest reasons, like, her landlord forgetting to cash her rent payment and the money sits in her account. Most recently, her group home returned SSA's mail to sender and they suspended her again. I've called four times and spent a total of SIX HOURS on hold. The first time I spoke to an agent who couldn't find any problem but promised the issue was resolved. When at the end of the month my sister's payment was not received I called again. Twice I was disconnected after 30 minutes of holding. Another time I was on hold for OVER THREE HOURS and finally hung up, exasperated. Once again I'm on hold listening to an endless repetition of mind-numbing messages. I am truly ashamed of being an American whenever I deal with SSA and have great pity for all my fellow citizens.

Let me understand the new raise... I'm getting about $30. Extra, of which medicare raised my rate by $20. Absolutely ridiculous. It shouldn't be allowed

Where to begin? I attempted to apply for help back in 2020, shortly after i was discharged from the hospital with life changing disabilities that continue to plague me to this day. They'll send or claim to have sent you documents that never arrive but need to be returned back to them immediately than claim they never received them. It even reached the point as to where I'd go to the local office and attempt to put the desired documents in their drop box that 99.9% of the time so full and never emptied that you were never able to do so. When making an attempt to call them, you're usually on hold for over an hour and when you do finally reach someone, they regurgitate the same unhelpful rubbish. I am' till this day, awaiting yet another decision but according to their website, that will take another year. It's a good thing I am receiving help from my local hospital and their charity program because had it not been for them, I am fully convinced I would had been in a much worse place. In conclusion, if you're seeking help for covid related injuries that had changed your life, I wouldn't expect any help from the SSA.

The social sercuity administration changed how you login to your account prompting everyone that has had an account to re establish your login and sign in. I get you want it to be more secure for us. However did you think that maybe some of us are not computer savvy? You continue to drive me crazy. I do not understand what you want. You don´t like this saved password you don recognise the device I am using except it is the same one that I used to creat my account. On and on just now you shut me out for 24 hours. You send me a text saying I have a message, but you do not allow me to use my saved password. You want to verify its me but how? I have no clue what you are talking about.The next time you want to protect me from the big bad wolf, don't.
What a nightmare. This is sweet. I just received an email from social security. Still does not recongize the new device not new) however my my sign in information is correct but it could not be authenticated. So I should reset the password. I would scream but why bother?
