Do they ever answer?
Recording said estimated hold was 15 minutes. After 20 minutes, it range as though I was being transferred; only to get to another recording asking me to continue holding. 8 Minutes later, it rang again several times like I as being transferred again. Only to hear a recording (different voice) telling me all agents were helping other customers and to call back later and then the line hung up. Thanks for wasting my 30 minutes for nothing.
4 HOURS & 6 MINUTES still nothing accomplished
Im trying to help someone fill out application for a disabled adult child & because they dont allow those certain applications to be done online you have to make an appointment so I called this morning they said my wait time was 120 Minutes that I can leave my phone number they would call me as I was in queue never received a phone call so I called back waited on the phone for 4 hours and 6 minutes and never got nobody to the phone y'all need some help or at least make it were folks can set up appointments online
the people are very helpful and…
the people are very helpful and understanding.
Rude and unprofessional
Want to experience rude, impatient, interruptive customer service agents who could care less about you and are even less informative than their status web page that doesn't provide updates for your application after the first message and says you will get an answer in about 30 days? Call Social Security after 60 days, they'll be more than annoyed enough to tell you to wait 120 days, with more than enough attitude to choke a goat.
Poor Customer Service
I spoke with Shannon over the phone a few minutes ago. However, it took me at least 30 minutes to get a live person over the phone.
In addition, once I got to speak with her. She gave me attitude about how to proceed with logging into my online account. She advised me to go in person and make an appointment.
Mind you, I would need to access my online account in order to schedule an appointment. I don't think they accept walk-ins at the Bridgeport CT SSA office.
I eventually ended the call because I got frustrated with how dismissive she was being.
I began to do my own research and figured out how to fix my online account problem myself!
However, I think that SSA should hire people that actually like helping people. I'm not trying to sound 'privileged' or needy. However, I think it's very inconsiderate to waste people's time like that.
Especially when we have no choice but to deal with government services as such!
I think it's very nasty and rude.
Depressed
If I could give no star I would. The Charlotte, NC Social Security phone and in person is truly a miresable experience. I'm disabled, I received benefits since 2008. I worked for in 6-2022 to 1-2023. I recently received an overpayment letter. But I didn't make an amount that would fall under gainful employment. My benefits are suspended. I have filled out every form, provided checks several times but I'm being told they're working on. I fill like I'm begging for government cheese. The people are not professional, don't have access to systems to provide information nor give any concern to resolve your situation. It was like this years ago.

Very slow service waiting room is full and only 2 station are open the rest are Been closed for more than 4 hours they said they are at lunch

The website/agents are entirely useless. I have been on disability since 2012, and absolutely nothing has changed, and yet now they find that they overpaid some $300. My spouse's $33 has also been resurrected since they overpaid for three months. It's not worth talking with them since none of their information is correct.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by the Louisville, Kentucky downtown office. My attempts to obtain information have been met with unprofessional responses, such as "I don’t know" or "they will call you when they can." On multiple occasions, I have been hung up on, placed on hold for extended periods (up to 45 minutes), and told that someone would look into my case, only to never hear back.
I initiated my case in Louisiana, scheduling an appointment on April 29, with the actual appointment taking place on June 18. Despite submitting all required documents, there has been no progress.
Another individual involved in the case (the other child’s mom) I find it unfair that my case is being delayed due to another individual's circumstances. Although we share children with the same man, our appointments were separate, and these are distinct cases. I have submitted all of my required documents, whereas the other party has not. This discrepancy should not impact me and my children.
I was informed that I needed to verify that her son is my child’s sibling, which I have done, yet there has been no further action.
It is perplexing and frustrating that I am required to deal with the Louisville office when my case originated in Louisiana. Over a month has passed without any resolution, which I find to be highly irresponsible and indicative of a lack of proper business conduct.

This review should be done last year when I applied for my retirement benefits. i got so very busy...and wasn't able to write my review. Mr. Dunn was so nice and helpful. I went 2 times to SSA office in Parsippany,NJ to submit another form of requirement that i forgot to bring it and this time i went to Mrs. Fonseca window, she is very patient, help me a lot -she is amazing.
Shameful Social Security Administration.
I had not been to a Government office in 45 years and unfortunately I remember why. I received a letter from SSA telling me that they made a mistake calculating my social security check (Retirement) and that they were holding my check until September to collect what they said I owe them. So, I called. After been bounced to many different people they told me I needed to go to my local office, so I get there made the line and after three hours the called me back and the lady told me she was sending me to another window, she was just there to direct me to the right person. So, I sat outside in the lobby for another 2 1/2 hours until I had to get up and go to a manager to complaint, they called me back and to my not surprise the specialist told me I need it to make payment arrangement and did the forms for me I signed them and on my way I went. To my surprise I received another friendly letter from SSA yesterday and I called SSA again, after waiting for almost two hours the lady on the phone told me I needed to go back to the local office, to just go walk in, no appointment needed. Guess what I got to the office and the security guard almost called the police on me and I drove an hour to get there and he says no body can go in without an appointment, of course I got upset because of lack of respect to taxpayers, we pay for your salary, and guess what? No appointments available. You can't get one. I guess I'm never getting pay again. That is my story.
I had to visit my local SSA office in…Lakewood, Ohio.
I had to visit my local SSA office in an attempt to get a replacement SSA ID card. The first representative I spoke with asked for my passport and I informed him that it was expired. He told me he couldn't use it. The conversation ended there. The second representative (who helped as much as he could) said he could use it even if it was expired, however based on the first representatives statement I didn't have my passport with me. Instead, I provided my Certificate of Naturalization issued to me in 1968 prior to my deployment to Vietnam. Since I'm a Naturalized citizen the process of obtaining a replacement SSA card is somewhat different. I received my citizenship in 1968 When this was reviewed I was told that this document was no longer valid since it didn't list an Alien ID number. I have been so proud of this document all these years and proud to call myself an American. Now I find out that this document that I have cherished so much isn't worth the price of the paper it's printed on. Apparently Homeland Security has to sprinkle holy water on the whole process - go figure. Am I truly an American or not??
No wonder people don’t like the Government
Took the kid that’s been living with me for 2 years his mother stole his benefits they won’t allow him to pick is own payee and want and organization as to why the don’t feel his can manage his benefits they will not give him an answer and talk in circles they said he was irrational 1 time my mom stole my 8000 from SSI I would be pissed as well Cleburne social security office is a joke.

No one ever answers the phones and they never answer their messages

But they are no help!

No wander Timothy McVeigh hated our government so much. The SSA never answers their phones and all the call center people are either incapable of understanding English and then they just hang up and speak when they want to and to whom they want to.
The call center people all need to be fired
Applied for SSA spousal survivor…
Applied for SSA spousal survivor benefits. Not even once during the application process did a person utter "sorry for your loss" or anything similar. The two people that I dealt with apparently did not have it in their transcripts and could not or would not use a simple social interaction skill. So sad.
Fantastic Employer and Employees
Mr. Williams (manager), Mr. Swoop, Officer Simmons, and Mr. Barber ARE FANTASTIC. Their help was priceless. They made the process smooth and easy with great conversations. They were always kind with a smile on their faces when I come in contact with them. They are very knowledgeable and take time to hear the issues to bring a resolution without being demeaning. I appreciate their time, help, understanding, and more importantly they are trustworthy. Please tell them thank you from my heart. Stellar Stellar Stellar Stellar employer and employees.

The help desk for myssa.gov is a joke. I have no idea what they are even supposed to do. I have called 4 times due to issues with my online account and not one person has been able to assist me. They are completely useless. Very frustrating!
