I use the Wickes Lancaster store regularly from general DIY materials to kitchens and bathrooms. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and have always gone the extra mile to resolve any minor issues that I may have had.

Quite brazen refusal to comply with the Consumer Protection Act
Had a really bizarre experience of buying a toilet seat, asking if I could return it if it was the wrong size and being told I could. It was the wrong size and when I returned it I was told I couldn’t for hygiene reasons and that I’d been told the wrong thing when I asked. I followed up with a direct complaint to Wickes head office, including a reminder that this didn’t comply with the Consumer Protection Act, but they refused to do anything. Honestly I’m not going to sue them or report them over a toilet seat but I will remember how they behaved and thought you’d like to know too. They obviously can’t be trusted to either keep their word or comply with the law.

Appalling service
Appalling service. Having asked when we bought it, if we could return an item if it did not fit, we were refused a return an hour later. The manager's excuse being 'you were given the wrong iinformation by my staff member - and that is your problem not mine'

Delighted with my bathroom!
The whole process was seamless, from the design stage (thanks Janine), to the more practical things like choosing tiles etc (thanks Clare!). The quality and high standard of fitting is exceptional (thanks Dan)… what a team. My bathroom was completed today and I am over the moon! Excellent communication and expert advice. The fitters were so organised and cleaned everything - including my stairs!!! I always knew I was in safe hands…😀
