Wickes - Lichfield Reviews 

I popped into Wickes in Lichfield recently for advice on a bathroom project and was helped by Mark, who couldn’t have been more helpful.

From the moment we started talking, it was clear Mark really knew his stuff. He listened carefully, asked the right questions, and gave me solid, practical advice that made planning my project so much easier. He was professional, approachable, and clearly passionate about helping customers get it right.

I called at my local Lichfield branch to purchase some laminated flooring which was in the sale. Unfortunately the product was out of stock at this time however, after speaking to Elliot, an extremely helpful store assistant, I learned that he could order the flooring for me on the stores system and have it delivered to my home the following day. This was so easy and even saved me having to cart and lift the flooring into my car.

I have been asked to rate my experience though it feels rather early. I chose Wickes as a few years ago they fitted a kitchen we were pleased with.
So far my bathroom has been planned and materials ordered. The contractor has been and measured up. Everyone has been helpful and I look forward to the work being started in 3 weeks. So far so good.

Shop was tidy. Good range of products, staff really friendly.

Got my products and was walking to the till, and the lady was standing in the till just walked off

Then another lady started scanning not a word of hello, are you having a good day? Weather is a bit rubbish isn’t it?

No interaction at all

Tell me the price asked me if I wanted the receipt I said no

She then went off carrying on talking to a colleague about stock. No thank you very much. Have a good day.

Terrible customer service

Had a kitchen designed by Julie for me and another for my mum. She's very helpful and really took the time to ensure we had the kitchens we wanted. Great job, would definitely recommend!

Lynne was fantastic, a very friendly design consultant, excellent plans. Listened to what I wanted and designed my dream kitchen. I couldn't have been happier with the service. Thank you again lynne.

Julie Evans from the Lichfield branch has recently helped us to design, and order our kitchen. Julie was very friendly, patient and helpful. She went above and beyond to assist us with a problem of our own doing. We can’t thank her enough and would highly recommend and use again should the need arise. The kitchen was delivered on an agreed date and we were kept informed about the delivery and time slot. Overall we have had a good experience buying our kitchen from Wickes. The kitchen itself is good quality, the person fitting it says that he has installed a few now and hasn’t had any problems. Many thanks Julie and the Wickes team.

Very happy with our kitchen designer (Lynn Smith) at litchfield wickes,although we had a few problems Lynn solved them for us and we are very pleased with the finish in fact we are as pleased as a peacock lol.

Spoke to jake on the phone. A good chap. He knows his planks very well😂😂👍🏻👍🏻.

Purchased two large bags of Tarmac Kiln Dried Sand.
Instead of fine dry sand, as should be, both bags wet inside, sand like wet beach sand.
Had to empty both and wait hours for sun to dry them out before filling between block paviers.

I recently used the Lichfield store to resolve an issue over collection of an item. Alicia was able to help me after a colleague had refused to let me take the item which had been ordered by my wife while I was travelling. She showed genuine customer concern and enabled me to obtain my order. She used common sense and obtained the relevant authority to do so by speaking to her manager. She took the time to go that extra mile. I’ve been using Wickes for over a decade, so it is so important to recognise and thank excellent staff like Alicia who make the difference.

Returned some fence panels and served by the delightful Jenny. Friendly and helpful, she helped me find the right product and then effected my refund and new purchase.

Despite problems with the tills and printer plus stock issues, she remained cool and calm.

A credit to Wickes

Jenny was absolutely superb in helping me find a range of items that I needed. That lady really knows her stock and her knowledge put me to shame!

A nice range of items, but my visit yesterday was not a good one. I purchased an item which when I got home was found to be faulty, To be fair this was exchanged without any issues, but the lady on the till needs customer training. She was abrupt and over both transactions used less than a dozen words.

Wow, now the kitchen is complete, what a transformation. Meticulous workmanship, attention to detail and any small imperfections we found, were addressed immediately. The guys cleaned up after themselves everyday before leaving. The kitchen has surpassed our expectations and would recommend Wicks to anyone who is thinking of taking the plunge and splashing out on such a luxury.

I recently had the pleasure of being assisted by Harrison at the Wickes store in Lichfield, and I cannot praise his customer service enough! From the moment I walked in, he went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Harrison was knowledgeable, approachable, and incredibly patient, answering all my questions and offering helpful advice without any hesitation.

What stood out the most was his genuine commitment to making sure I left the store happy and well-informed. He helped me find the perfect products for my project and made the entire shopping experience smooth and stress-free. It’s rare to find such outstanding service these days, and Harrison truly deserves recognition for his hard work and professionalism.

I called in to the Lichfield branch instead of my local branch to be welcomed by a rebuke by the lady on the till for using the wrong door ( oops sorry!)
I just went in to ask for the larger trolley, my mistake I didn't see them.
Then went in with the trolley, and was questioned by the same lady, deadpan expression, on the till wether I had found them!
I have a good sense of humour and am willing to have a gentle dig at my expense but really are you that bored, you need some sport to make your shift go by
May I suggest she considers a career in stand up comedy, she'd be great.
