Very friendly and helpful

Decided to transfer an Isa to the Yorkshire Building Society, because it reasonably matched my criteria. Competitive interest rates for 5 years, monthly income, a branch I can visit if necessary, and the relative safety of a building society.
My visit to the branch was pleasant, and the paperwork was conducted in a friendly professional manner.

Did not have to wait.
Done quickly but they could not deposit on my credit card

I wanted to deposit some money to offer me a monthly interest payment to top up my part time wage.
I tried several high street banks and building societies, all seemed un interested. I picked up on yorkshire building society and their offering so decided to put my money there.
Whilst it's not tye best rate I was happy with the process and ease of set up.
Then after a couple of weeks a very nice lady rang from the branch in Chesterfield thanking me for my business, I was really pleased with that.

Move to YBS because my towns banks where closing, everyone was friendly and it was quick and easy to open.

The website is clear, sensible, easy and straightforward.

Your personal service is just that - it's personal. Real, decent, friendly people staff the phones.

The whole operation is very refreshing in this age of cost-saving by automation / bots / number-entry as opposed to embracing values such as courtesy and comfort.

The person I talked to was friendly and helpful, however as an organisation they seem very disjointed in their communication. I had an issue when I opened an account, and there was a lack of updates to myself regarding the status of my issue.

Very pleasant welcome from branch employee who talked me through the ISA options. I was transferring my old ISA to YBS. She kindly explained my options and ensured that I was satisfied with my decision. The whole experience was made really easy.

Very friendly staff and they helped me because I have a learning disability

Staff were clear and concise about products available and dealt with our queries in a friendly and professional way. There was good communication about transactions and completion was achieved in a satisfactory time scale.

Found the overall experience good. I prefer dealing with people face to face rather than the frustration of dealing with chatbots or spending ages on phone selecting numbers from menus often ending up having to go back to initial menu as takes me wrong down path then kept waiting ages to talk to a humans so will always prioritise institutions with a high street presence.

It was dificult to set up my ISA account online. A long-winded process, with details given but not retained by YBS, when my connection was lost. Had to try twice to set up account. I found customer service staff polite and sympathetic, but despite several calls, I still have not received a promised letter containing my USER NAME. I deposited my intended initial investment eventually, though it took a while to obtain my account number- given over the telephone. When I recently tried to log into my account, the user name given over the phone previously was not recognised. Fortunately, I then did get into my account to check my balance by using my account number. Not as straightforward as I believe it should have been.
