Shame on Wyndham

My companion and I stayed at the Wingate by Wyndham in Leesburg, Florida last night. We are both Wyndham Rewards members. I am also a group travel guide and a travel agent. We used 15,000 hard earned Wyndham Rewards points for this one night stay. What a waste of points that was!! This hotel should be rated half a star. If I were paying cash, it would not be worth more than $35 per night.

There were so many issues with this hotel that there isn't enough time, or space, to list them all. It is obvious that the Wyndham corporation does not inspect their properties. They should be ashamed to have their name associated with this piece of junk. It has made me question them as a corporation after this experience. As a travel agent, I will never recommend any Wyndham property to my clients.

Overall, the property is run down and filthy. The lobby was our first impression and we both walked away with a sinking feeling after checking in. The paint and wall coverings were peeling. The floor was dirty. The lobby was old and worn with a dingy appearance. There was a nearly empty vending machine and a worn out couch near the check in desk. Sadly, it was downhill after that. We got into a rickety elevator to the third floor. As we walked down the hall to our room, the carpet was dirty and worn, and had a bad odor. The hallway walls were scuffed and in need of a new painting. There was another empty vending machine by the elevator.

Our room was disgusting. When we opened the door, a horrendous odor wafted through the air. The smell never went away, it was noxious. We both felt nauseous, but it was late at night and there was nowhere else to go. The bathroom was dirty. I doubt it was cleaned as there were long, dark hairs in the shower. The walls had peeling paint and scuff marks. The mattress was worn out and lumpy. The phone charging station next to the bed did not work.

I would recommend avoiding this hotel, as well as any of the Wyndham brand hotels, as it is clear that they do not inspect their properties.

Ramada Sarasota on the water

Five star experience in all categories. Beautifull view, great breakfast and nice rooms. I developed a knee problem while at the beach and had to see a Doctor. The staff noticed I was in pain and chased me down with a walker they had. If I could give the staff in reception more than a five, I would.

Relax at Days Inn, Stuart FL

The staff, as a whole, work together, at Days Inn of Stuart, FL..located at 1200 SE Federal Hwy (US1). The rooms are clean and cheerful..with cable TV and free WiFi..A/C ...there is a pool and exercise room, as well as continental breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
This hotel is the ONLY one I choose in Stuart for its convenient location, service, and comfort

Stay if there are no other options in the Miami to stay.

I stayed at the Artium hotel which was book via Expedia and have been trying to get my refund back for over a month and a half. When I reached out to Wyndam their reply was that the Atrium located in Miami was not a part of their hotel chain however the information that I received in my booking reads as indicated below and when I contacted the Wyndham organization about my refund and lack of response from the Atrium the Wyndham indicated that they were not affiliated. I have my Itinerary number because it was booked by a 3rd party. My cancellation was because the hotel is located in an area that is very questionable after dark. The smell was so overpowering with a cleaning agent that it made my eyes water and my throat close up. I was traveling with a senior and a minor and this is not the place you would want to stay. I don't know how Expedia has this place listed at an 8 however, I wouldn't stay at this place for free. The condition of the bus alone should have been a sign that the Hotel was questionable the bus was absolutely disgusting. As I was cancelling my reservation so was another gentleman who was screaming at his agent for having booked him there. After having two rooms booked and paid for $103.96 for each room, I had to pay $260.00 to book an emergency hotel just so that I provided a decent place for the minor to stay. This hotel was only booked because we were cruising out of Miami. The Atrium keeps promising to refund the money and have provided two fake transaction numbers to Expedia to give me for the refund however the money never arrives.

The Wyndham Rewards program is a joke

The Wyndham Rewards program is a joke, don't waste your time trying to keep accredited nights towards higher levels, the nights you accumulate suddenly disappear without a logical explanation. You can stay at better Hotels and Resorts for less money without having a rewards program to begin with. The customer service is ridiculous.
Be sure research all available Hotels or Resorts in the area you are planning a stay, you will find better deals than Wyndham properties.

Potentially good rewards program made lousy through implementation and subpar customer service

I travel frequently for work. For over two years I've used Wyndham hotels and I've lost count how many times I need to call in to have reward points manually added because they were missed, and everytime I've tried to redeem points. It gets tiring and I have better things to do with my time than spend countless hours, countless times on the phone with their customer service department. It would benefit Wyndham to figure out the purpose of a loyalty program as all theirs has done is made me loyal to another brand. I started using Best Western about a year ago. Never once an issue with having points being applied or redeemed. I've never had to call them once. Wyndham loses a customer that stays in hotels 4 to 5 times per week because they seemingly can't run their program properly.

mismanagement

The Wyndham Santiago de Chile Airport advertises a free shuttle. In reality, it leaves its guests stranded at the airport late at night after long flights, doesn't answer phones, and doesn't respond to WhatsApp messages. Guests have to take taxis at their own expense. The receptionist promises an immediate refund – but that's not the case! No one responds anymore. Management has absolutely no control over its lazy employees.

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding my stay at the **Airport Honolulu Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham**, which I believe involved **material misrepresentation**, **excessive ancillary fees**, and **unreasonable charges**.

I selected this property in reasonable reliance on Wyndham branding and the hotel’s online representations. Upon arrival, the actual condition of the property differed substantially from what was advertised. The hotel was **dirty, poorly maintained**, and the sleeping accommodations consisted of a **platform bed with an old, uneven mattress**, making rest extremely difficult.

I stayed approximately **six hours** and was charged **$251.44**. This total included a **$44 parking fee** and a **$25 “amenity fee,”** which amounted to **two bottles of water**. These charges were excessive, inadequately justified, and entirely disproportionate to the condition and quality of the property.

When I questioned the parking fee, I was advised by hotel staff that I should have returned my rental vehicle and relied on the hotel shuttle instead. Given the late-night arrival, extended travel time, and physical exhaustion, this suggestion was neither reasonable nor practical.

The discrepancy between the hotel’s advertised condition and its actual state directly influenced my booking decision. Had the property been accurately represented and had these fees been clearly disclosed, I would not have booked this stay.

I respectfully request that Wyndham **review this matter**, including the appropriateness of the charges applied and whether this property meets the standards required to operate under the Wyndham brand. Based on the circumstances, I believe a **partial; if not full refund is warranted**.

Wyndham Rewards Ignored My Qualifying Nights and Downgraded My Status Without Explanation

I am extremely disappointed with Wyndham Rewards and how they handle loyal customers.

Here are the facts, clearly and objectively:
• In 2024, I stayed 56 qualifying nights
• 16 of those nights were rolled over into 2025 (shown in my account)
• In 2025, I stayed an additional 24 qualifying nights

These numbers are visible in Wyndham’s own system and app.

Despite this, Wyndham Rewards downgraded my Diamond status to Platinum, claiming I “did not reach 40 nights in 2025” — completely ignoring rollover nights that they themselves displayed and used to show “Diamond earned”.

When I contacted customer support:
• They sent copy-paste replies
• Repeated basic tier rules without reviewing my account
• Ignored rollover nights entirely
• Eventually stopped responding altogether

This is not a misunderstanding.
This is either a system failure or total incompetence in reviewing customer data.

I even stayed an extra night at the end of the year solely to protect my Diamond status, which now feels like a complete waste due to Wyndham’s negligence.

If this is how Wyndham treats elite members, I strongly advise travelers to reconsider their loyalty. I am already moving my stays to IHG and Hilton, where loyalty actually means something.

Very poor experience. Zero accountability.

STAY AWAY

STAY AWAY! Don't buy into their lies!!! If I could not give a star at all, I would. They deserve nothing. My parents have been VIP owners since 1995, with over 1 million points. We go to Branson 2x a year for family trips. The idea was for my parents to give this to us children when they graduate from this life. I don't ever want this. Our most recent experience has proven this "trustworthy, honest, God Loving" company is nothing but lies, fraud, and extortionists. We were told we would get $150 gift card for attending a presentation. No hard sales anymore, just a 30 min movie and to fill out a survey. Fine. We went. We paid the $0 fee to "reserve" our gift card. We went to the presentation. While signing in, I explained to the person, my husband will need to step out for a moment to take a business call, but I will remain in the presentation and he will return when he is done. She said that was fine. We go upstairs with our sales rep. The only thing different from back in the day for hard sales was they removed the cubicle walls. You still sit at the table, I-pad in hand of the sales rep. No movie, no survey. OH and we find out, it's not 30-min like we were told, it's 90 min. I explained to our sales rep, the same thing about my husband needing to step out for a quick business call. He calls his manager over who tells me we can't do that, they need for us to both be present so a sale doesn't fall on just one person to make. They walk us downstairs, tell the person at the desk, and they say ok. Nothing else is said. I have my gift card. I go to use my gift card and I am told it was declined. I got home, called to find out why - there is $0.00 money on the card. It took two days and 6 different people to finally be told, "corp has the right to decline a card. It is in my file, that corp. manager, Hailey Cox, made the decision not to give us the $150 she said we refused the tour. The manager, DR, didn't even attempt to apologize for the embarrassment I had of trying to use a card with no money, just talked over me telling me his team did everything right. They are liars and they steal your money. They rent out your units as hotel rooms when you aren't there. The units are falling apart. It's not worth it.

We went thru the 2 hour sales pitch and was told that we would get a 3day 2 night vacation as a gift for listening to the promo. Just called to set up our weekend and was told we had to go thru another promo. This is BS. 2 hours of our life we will never get back!! So they LIED to us!!

I stayed at the Wyndham Days Inn in Neenah, WI.

I stayed at the Wyndham Days Inn in Neenah, WI on December 6th and had a hold of $150 put on my card, which was to (and normally) drops off within a few days. After numerous calls to customer service and then verifying with my bank, they finally released it but the hold will not fall off until January 5th - unacceptable. The bank verified that it is on the hotels end and that the hotel chose the date. Between the back and forth with customer service (who also tried to sell me time share information when I actually would have considered if I had my money back, but their loss) and the unimpressive stay, this is absolutely frustrating. Absolutely do not recommend.

Dishonesty of the Travelodge by Wyndham Kissimmee/Orlando with Wyndham's complicity.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the Travelodge by Wyndham Kissimmee/Orlando, located at 7475B W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy Kissimmee, FL 34747, with Wyndham's complicity, as they are doing nothing to return this amount, despite having been notified about a month ago, and have not returned the $50.00 (fifty dollars) retained as a security deposit.

I stayed at this hotel on November 28, 2025, and to this day, despite numerous and insistent requests for the return of this amount, which was even included in the credit card bill that I have already paid.

Diamond member with no benefits

Been a diamond member for about 4 years. I have yet to receive any Diamond “perk” which includes a bottle of water. What a waste to get diamond.

These employees need to be commended

I have stayed in several different hotels in the western USA in the last few years. I have noticed that hotels in general have raised prices and lowered customer service over the last couple of years. Last night my wife and I stayed in the Coeur d' alene, ID LaQuinta by Windham and we were treated like royalty. The employees were friendly and helped make our stay very pleasant. You need to commend them. Thank You.

Security? Who needs that!

We stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Saginaw, MI. The security lock on the door was broke off, the smoke detector was wrapped in a plastic bag, and the bottom of the bathroom door was destroyed (like someone had left a dog locked in there and it dug it's way out). One night was more than enough! No continental breakfast to speak of, bad parking lot lighting, and no elevator. We took our chances driving thru a snow storm rather than stay there again!

Stay away! Wyndham Hotels! Not safe!

I stayed at the Wyndham Hotel (6200 Quarry) in Independence Ohio this year (2025). On the first night, someone’s car was broken into, in the rear parking lot (not my car). So, I parked in the front starting the next day. Then, my wedding ring is missing! I spoke to Lysa, at the front desk. She was concerned with me paying for the entire 6 nights! I was prepaid through hotels dot com (prepaid in advance)! There was no concern about my stolen wedding ring! I checked out after 3 days! No wedding ring! Hotels dot com is willing to refund my money. The Wyndham Hotels is refusing to refund my money and is not granting hotels dot com permission to issue a refund. The Independence Ohio, Wyndham Hotel is not safe or professional! Stay away!

We stayed at the Wyndham garden…

We stayed at the Wyndham garden Chinatown for a quick trip to New York. We booked a package deal and thought that the hotel looked ok was in a not so nice area but we weren’t there for a holiday and would be out most of the days anyway .
We were told by the booking agents that they had got us an upgraded, updated room with great views of the New York skyline.
The hotel is dirty run down and in the middle of a slum! Admittedly it’s China town but at night it’s a no go.
When we arrived we were asked for a deposit on room damage! Plus they wanted $25 a day for breakfast and water. Breakfast was in the basement and was a gloomy area that looked like it could have been a disco / club in the past all red and black gloss on the walls. The rooms were that we had was basic ( we never got to see the updated room that we should have had ) the views were a joke and they said that 7th floor was the highest we could have for the price we paid.

We received a confirmation, so all ok.
Upon arrival it showed the hotel had been permanently closed for some years.
