I ordered a plant online at the beginning of the year from Big Plant Nursery but decided to wait to write a review so I could give it a chance to grow!!! The plant arrived in good condition and well packaged! Tbh there wasn’t much to look at as the plant was dormant and just looked like a few roots with just a few but healthy leaves. It is now more than 2 meters tall with an abundance of flowers!!!!! I am more than happy with my purchase!!! Worth every penny! Can’t wait to browse again next Spring 🤩

As many have mentioned this business has no customer service at all

They take your money promptly after placing an online order but then don’t bother to answer the phone or reply to your email ! Ask you to leave a voice message as “they are too busy” and have a 7 day (!!) turnaround for an email reply - they don’t bother to return your messages or reply within 7 days

Still waiting to hear from them 3 weeks after placing an order - save your money and go elsewhere

Very poor experience - no communication post-ordering after almost a month and repeated attempts to get in touch with customer service to find out what had happened have been ignored over a period of time. I understand small businesses can be busy, especially like this one during springtime - but this is extremely disappointing.

Was worried about ordering a delicate plant online as I have terrible experiences with other suppliers when the plants arrived in a terrible condition, but with Big Plant Nursery the experience was faultless. Plant arrived with overnight courrier in great condition, well wrapped. No damage to plant. Very healthy specimen. Was extremely happy and will definitely be ordering with them again. Thank you!

Great experience buying from this company. My canna lily was dispatched and delivered very fast, good communication, well packaged and in great condition. Would recommend and would buy from this company again.

Okay so a mixed review really. I purchased an Ensete banana plant in May 2023 & it was great, small but expected. I then purchased a Musa Basjoo a week ago. It’s not that great, the leaves are all damaged in some way, either broken, bent, yellow/brown, torn. I’ve took a chance & planted it & hope it will survive. I did email for advise but was told it was normal for young Banana plants to look like this - it was a 4.5L sized pot one - I’ve had musa’s in a 3L pot before (from different place) that have been in much better condition.

Baught a fatsia japonica in a 5ltr pot of big plant nursery it came very quickly well packaged and a good healthy plant really happy customer 😊 I baught a canna Cleopatra in the summer and that grew brilliant and looked amazing will be looking again next year for more types of plants I'm that happy n

Colocasia black magic.
Ordered my Colocasia black magic plant on Saturday afternoon, and it arrived on Tuesday.
Service was excellent, plant was well packed and protected, and arrived in excellent condition.

We stumbled across this nursery coming home from a garden centre. We visited rather than using the website and I'm so glad we did.....it's one of our new favourite places! So many plants of all shapes sizes to suit a variety of budgets & gardens. Plants were so well looked after with plenty of staff to hand for any help. After over an hour of exploring all their goodies we came away with some rare beautiful grasses and the staff could not have been more helpful. The prices were very reasonable, topped off with the best little cafe. We will certainly be returning, what a find.

I chose the Big Plant Nursery because of their good reviews. I sent my son a hardy banana and a Fatsia Japonica 'Spiders Web' for his birthday. I wasn't disappointed at my choice of nursery. My son is absolutely thrilled with his plants and has sent me photos, they are beautiful big healthy plants, and so well packaged. I want to say a special thank you to Archie, for the kind help he gave us.

Second time ordering from them, fast service and decent delivery.

Just bought the very rarely available Triarrhena lutarioriparia after being successfully informed it was back in stock. I made a mistake on the online ordering which was soon rectified by a very helpful lady on the phone and the plant arrived, in pristine condition, the day after it was dispatched (at 8:30am!!!). It was really healthy, great value (for such a rarely available plant), and the postage costs were very reasonable indeed given the weight and next day APC delivery. I am very pleased with every aspect of the service I have received and look forward to growing this exciting plant!

I bought 2 arum lily plants but was sent 4 very small ones 3 of which have died. Have emailed them twice 3 weeks ago and sent pictures but they never replied so tried phoning and after trying for days to get them to answer the phone a lady finally did but after I explained the problem she was very sarcastic but promised me a call back which unsurprisingly never happened
Will never use this company again as they are happy to sell but don't want to know when things go wrong definitely no such thing as customer service

In April we bought an Acer from the Big Plant Nursery. It had one small, dead branch which we blamed on frost damage, so we waited until the weather warmed up before planting it out. In June it had been planted in our soil for only a few weeks but was looking very unhappy and we emailed a close-up photo of the dead branch to the Big Plant Nursery.
A week later we received a reply saying this looked like Verticillium Wilt, a soil-borne disease and we should replace the plant with something different. As they offer a replacement if you are unhappy with the plant, I responded asking if we could choose another plant from them up to the value of the Acer. A week later their response was that as the problem originated from the soil it was planted in they could only offer a credit of £30 - less than half what was paid.
My response was that I could not believe that the branch, that was already damaged when we bought the plant, was infected by our own soil.
Another week later they replied that they had checked all their other Acers and there was no sign of the disease but were still happy to offer a £30 credit. I replied that having spent £130 on two unhelthy looking plants I didn't feel like wasting more money on buying what might be more infected plants.
A few days later we received a reply saying "we are happy to offer you a replacement Acer FOC. " We now have a beautiful Acer, which will be remaining in its original pot, until we are certain it's a healthy plant.
We might have been unlucky with our plant but I doubt whether will risk fighting for our rights with the Big Plant Nursery again.

Wow! I have just received my bamboo plant, 2 days after ordering. I tracked my order easily and waited with baited breath! (I had a disappointing delivery from a different company in the past). So pleased, was well packed and the bamboo, a lovely fresh plant. Thank you Big Plant Co!!

Everything around the Customer Service element is missing.

I placed my order on 25th April and received a standard email with two delivery approx dates.
3 - 5 days = normal or up to 14 days when busy.

I don't know what my order comes under and I have sent an email and tried calling but no response.

I don't know about the quality of the product yet and will update accordingly.

Sorry that Richard had a bad experience. I can only say that mine was really good. The two Musa plants arrived very well packed to ensure no damage. The delivery driver was also careful when the box was handed over. The plants were in good health and better than expected. Ordering was easy and despatch advised. I am happy and hope that Richard has better luck next time. Margaret

The Butia Odorata was delivered at the agreed time at the agreed price and was in the pot size ordered, for that reason the review merits 2* rather than 1*.
The tree had 4 thick branch breaks and 2 minor branch breaks. I already had 3 Butia Odoratas from an alternative supplier, which have 3 thick and 1 minor branch breaks between them. These 3 that I already had were also ordered unseen but in a beautiful condition.
Bigplantnursery had been very responsive during the purchase and delivery stage, but did not respond to my email of the very next working day, after I had taken off the transport wrapping. The photos I sent then were pretty clear, and anyone from bigplantnursery was free to come and see what I meant for themselves. I followed up with a further email last month, again no response.
As they have not explained why they delivered a sub-standard tree I have to wonder whether they thought to take the opportunity to get rid of a tree that a customer would be unlikely to buy if they had physically visited the nursery and seen it before making a decision.
The bigplantnursery tree was incidentally considerably more expensive than the ones I had already bought last summer. I was willing to pay more because my experience of the other company had been so positive and they didn’t happen to have any Butias left at the end of September.
I will think twice before using a different palm tree supplier to the original one I used - and would recommend anyone who buys from bigplantnursery to ensure they make a point of visiting the place first and buying a specific plant or tree rather than entrusting this company to choose.

I bought 2 7L agaves on line and received 5L plants. I have tried contacting the customer service department but they don't appear to have one as I never get a reply. The courier and packing was good however the plants and lack of a reliable contact service are disappointing.
This was my first and last time for using this nursery.

Beautiful, big plants, very well packed, fast delivery and excellent customer service.
