There was a slight delay from the stated time of pickup, but it didn’t really impact the experience. The man who picked it up was efficient and friendly and it all went without a hitch as I had all the necessary papers and ID. In all, well done.

It's a bit of a sad story dealing with the end of my car's life, but I received the best price from Cartakeback, and the quote given online was honoured and paid on the day. The waiting time was a bit longer, about a week, and my landlord was chasing my mechanic since the car was taking up space in his garage, but apart from that, great service. Thanks! I received £230 for my 2010 Insignia, while other offers were between £150-£180. They took care of the paperwork and paid immediately on the day of collection. Just waiting on my tax refund now, but that's down to the DVLA, so it could take 4-6 weeks. I'll update if anything goes wrong, but hopefully it won't.

Easy to go through the process, the operator who called to organise thing was really polite and friendly. Gave me the best price out of all the quotes I got and were very efficient. Collecting my car the next morning after I spoke to them.

Really poor communication. Took a week and a half of back and forth between the main company and the assigned garage by me until I eventually gave up and cancelled. I then went with another company, Silverlake, who collected the next day and paid the quoted amount within 24 hours..

The assigned garage either didn't answer the phone or made up excuses. First of all they couldn't assign a driver. Then they said there was an issue with the high milage (declared at the start).

Rang Car Take Back daily asking them to chase. I never once had them ring me back even though "it's not the service we expect"!

CarTakeBack gave me the highest quote for my car, out of several scrappage companies that I contacted. They rang to make arrangements for collection and to give advice, as the car was parked at my local garage.
On the morning of collection, the driver rang to give a time of collection. Payment was promptly made into my bank account, and the DVLA refunded the excess license fee soon afterwards. CareTakeBack took care of everything, I am so grateful to them.

I had a very disappointing experience with this company.

I completed the online form and honestly described the condition of my car, including all the issues and faults. Based on the information I provided, the website offered me £1,000.

After this, I received a phone call from the company and was asked again about the vehicle's condition. I repeated exactly the same information that I had already entered on the website. There was nothing new or different.

Shortly afterwards, I received an email saying that the offer had been reduced from £1,000 to just £250. This was extremely frustrating because the condition of the car had already been fully disclosed from the beginning.

What makes the experience even more disappointing is that the company continues to send emails encouraging me to sell the car, while the offer remains at only £250. The initial £1,000 offer now feels misleading and gave me unrealistic expectations about the value of my vehicle.

In my opinion, the online valuation does not accurately reflect the final offer, even when the car's condition is honestly declared. I would advise other sellers to be cautious and not rely too heavily on the initial quote.
