I am beyond satisfied with this company
I am beyond satisfied with this company and its services. I honestly was having the most stressful time trying to figure out how to move everything in my home from Florida to California, but a friend recommended that I check out Charter Van Lines, and I am so glad she did! Their agents connected me with the right resources, gave me a simple job code #C4450612, and the rest of the process was so easy. I would definitely use them again!
First National Van Lines is the only…
First National Van Lines is the only place you need to call if you have to move long distance. They will make sure your belongings are safe, secure and delivered on time. We have a big family and everyone has a bunch of stuff. They pack everything together instead of trying to charge you for extra space you don't need. Everything is organized so we know exactly where everything is as soon as we get to our new home. Also, we have too many breakables to take in our own vehicle, when we arrived at our new home 8 hours later, not a single one of my dinner plates were broken. If we ever need to move again, we will definitely be choosing First Nation because they not only deliver your belongings, they deliver quality.
Thanks for the car care
Dropped in to give Charter Van Lines a shout out for their great service. Expected to read other equally awesome reviews and am really surprised to see dissatisfied customers. Makes me wonder if it was due to communication breakdown or if it was just dumb luck to have bad experience to begin with? Whatever. Well, your mileage will vary as did mine. Literally. I got nothing but excellent service moving my car from Evansville to Sta Fe, NM. I certainly was not about to do that drive by myself. My folks who live in FL had heard about this company and recommended I get an estimate. My car was filled to the brim with household stuff, packed securely with their help and expertise. Due to distance it did cost a pretty penny but not too far off from other companies with similar services. Thanks for getting my baby safely back to me.
Quality movers at a low price
What would have been a stressful and time-consuming move was made easy thanks to Charter Vanlines. As I prepared to pick up my life and move several hundred miles from Champaign IL to Bentonville AR, I researched multiple moving companies to help me. I chose Charter Vanlines due to their high number of 5-star ratings and multiple glowing reviews. The employees they sent were professional and efficient, helping me load all my boxes and heavy furniture. Once I arrived at my new home in Bentonville, the movers even helped me arrange my furniture and carried the heaviest boxes inside. I was happy to see that none of my belongings had been damaged in the move. If you are looking for long distance movers, I would highly recommend Charter Vanlines.
Rude, unprofessional, scammers
Rude, thieves, scammers
I have never felt the need to go online and give a bad rating until I did business with Charter Van Lines. Facts : they are not movers but actually brokers. Their business model is to give you cheapest quote and promise you their best in class moving service based on their so called 5 star rating on multiple sites. They ask you to pay a third of your quote right when you book them - a non reimbursable money !!!! So you would pay $1000 in advance for a move of $ 3000 BEFORE you know your actual mover. Here comes the scary part - they assign you the cheapest mover with horrible reviews online to do the move for you. And with $1000 deposit, you are left with only two choices - loose that big money or be ready for the ordeal. The attitude on my requests to provide me with a reasonable mover was - phone hung up on me!!! I had to collect online reviews to convince them of poor rating of the movers assigned to me but they wouldn't care. I couldn't trust this company any further with their bad attitude when they had $800 from me. All I could do was to cut my losses and save myself from crying after they would have had more of my money and all of my stuff. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT work with this company. The last thing you want is a bad mover when starting a new chapter in your life.
When I moved from Ohio to Philadelphia
When I moved from Ohio to Philadelphia, Charter Vanlines made everything extremely smooth. The men were polite and professional from start to finish. They truly went above and beyond to help me!
I requested a quote and received a fair and honest quote, quickly. I have never done a long distance move before so I was expecting the moving portion to exceed my whole moving budget. With Charter, that was not the case. There were unexpected charges even after I requested a moving date change.
All my items were moved quickly and efficiently. I had a lot of fragile and large items. I was a bit worried because I’m previous moves, items were broken. No items were damaged and they even helped put the items in place once they arrived.
Charter Van Lines
Upon shopping around dozens of long distance moving services, I concluded that Charter Vanlines offered the fairest pricing amongst the reputable companies I could find. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to arrange for my move out of Oklahoma into Philadelphia. The team sent out by Charter arrived almost exactly when I had been told they would, and began working immediately. I had already boxed up all of my clothing and electronics, but needed multiple large pieces of furniture and light fixtures to be taken out of the house and packed up. I was suprised by how fast my possessions were packed up, and the team delivered my belongings even earlier than they had estimated. There were no surprise costs or unmentioned expenses, and I felt that the pricing was more than fair for the service I received. I would highly recommend Charter Vanlines to anybody in need of a long distance moving service!
BEWARE OF FAKE REVIEWS AND SCAMMERS!
In June of 2018 I searched on google for a moving company and input my contact information into a website to have a moving quote done for my upcoming move. The move was to take place from Irvine California to Alexandria VA with a pickup date near the end of July. I was inundated with calls an emails and received quotes from 3 companies over the phone. I spoke initially with Charter Van Lines (MC#964891) who provided a quote over the phone and when researching online had several great reviews on yelp and other websites which now appear to be fake given the large volume of recent very negative reviews. Charter required an initial deposit of 1/3 of the price ($815) and would not release the name of the carrier until 7 days prior to the pickup date which is after the non-refundable date of the deposit. Sky Van Line arrived for pickup on the 26th of July and during the walk through the price was increased from $2465.67 to $3419.89. I did not have any time to find another mover and therefore reluctantly signed for the increased price. Sky Van Line (MC# 809843) has yet to deliver household goods as of 14 September 2018 and appears to be screening phone calls
Today, the 13th of September, marks 30 business days since the first available delivery date of 3 August. I have been unable to reach Sky Van Line directly and can only get information through Charter Van Lines. Detailed call logs created over the past several weeks, and voice recordings of each connected call are available.
I now assume that my items have been stolen, since I am unable to reach the company allegedly in possession of my items, and unable to get a legitimate location of my items. Therefore, I am in the process of trying to reach the proper department in the California police department to report my items stolen, so I can file a claim through my insurance company who require a police report.
Additionally, Sky Van Line is owned by Yaacov Perez with an address of 14937 San Fernando Mission Blvd Mission Hills, CA 91345, Mission Hills. Yaacov Perez and the Sky Van Line address are associated with the additional following companies: Sky Van Line - MC#809843 Lion Transportation - MC#
553139 Pure Moving Systems LLC - MC# 757948 Apple Van Lines - MC# unknown
I have contacted Move Rescue who have offered to aid in recovering items. Last conversation was on Sept. 10. Still awaiting an update from Move Rescue as of 14 September.

I moved across the country (from East coast to West) and they made it so easy and seamless. I was impressed by their professionalism and how detailed they got with explaining how the process worked. They made my move so much less stressful! Thanks guys!
Moving was a breeze!
Hello my name is Morgan and I had a wonderful experience with my move! They moved me from Delaware to Pennsylvania and it felt like no time at all. The movers were very professional and efficient and got along with the whole family. They even helped me unpack a little of the heavy stuff.
Great for Complex Moves
My girlfriend and I recently moved from Sarasota to Little Rock, AR. We had a pretty complex moving situation, and we wanted a company that could take care of it all. The thought of dealing with different companies to move our stuff, transport our cars, and store my girlfriend's antique furniture was overwhelming.
However, we chose Charter Van Lines, and they made the process easy for us. We were a bit nervous because there were a lot of things to keep up with, but Charter Van Lines great. The entire move went smoothly, and everything got here on time. We were so grateful because my new boss warned us that we couldn't get around the city without a car, and she was right. I would definitely recommend to anyone with a complex move.
So helpful and thorough!
I had to move basically from one coast to the other for a job transfer. The timeline got bumped up and I was in a panic until I gave Charter Van Lines a call! They were so calm and reassuring- they answered all of my questions and walked me through exactly what the moving process would entail. The movers were a little late due to an accident on the highway, but you know what was incredible? They actually called me to let me know! It was so nice to be able to trust that they would keep me in the loop on things. All of my items arrived with no problems, probably in way better shape than if I had moved them myself. Thank you Charter Van Lines!
I am so thankful I decided to hire this…
I am so thankful I decided to hire this company over the other ones I was indesive on. They made my move stress-free and less worrisome for myself. The movers were very polite, helpful, and seemed to genuinely care about my belongings while moving them out of my old home and into my new home. I’ve never had to move to a different state before, but after this experience with Charter Van Lines, I highly recommend everyone use this company! It is so much more than great service! You definitely will get quality work done and at an affordable price. I was shocked when I noticed that none of my belongings were damaged or broken either because how is that even possible while moving!? I don’t know how, but they did it and they did it better than anyone I’ve ever heard of or know.
Should be 0 stars. HORRIBLE!
Do yourself a favor and listen to what all the horrible reviews are saying. I took a chance like many others and regret it. Charter Van Lines is a broker company. They hire a company that will accept the least amount of money from them to move your stuff. They also require you to buy U-Haul boxes and won't move anything in any other box, bin, tub, etc. They require a special plastic fitting for your bed and if you do not have it when the movers get there, the movers will charge you extra. They have just about the worst customer service I've ever received if that tells you anything. Every single time I called to get any information or try to figure out when they were going to come get my stuff, they were always out of office or never picked up. Literally a day prior to my moving date I was finally able to get some information. They told me anywhere from 8 AM to 6 PM they would be coming to move my stuff then they specified more and told me it would be somewhere between 3 PM and 6 PM. What do you know, 6 PM rolls around and the moving company is still nowhere to be found. They finally arrived about 6:20 PM. The actual moving company, Midwest Movers, were wonderful and took care of everything the way they should have. They did show up in a Penske truck with another customer's furniture/items in it though. I moved out of a 1 bedroom apartment and my stuff barely fit in the truck. I had to leave my couch and numerous other items because they simply wouldn't fit in a truck that already had other stuff in it. No complaints with the actual moving company, but I was charged extra once they arrived for numerous things. I was informed that night that the guys moving my stuff were probably not going to be the ones to move my furniture/items or drive them up there and that it may or may not even be that day or week, matter of fact. I moved from Tennessee to Indiana with only a small suitcase full of clothes and a few extra items that were able to fit in my car. It is now exactly 23 BUSINESS days since they moved my furniture/items and I still have nothing. I have been sleeping on a couch for the last month almost wearing the same clothes over and over that I brought with me. I recently called to find out where my stuff was and a lady answered. She told me she didn't know where it was and that she needed to put me on hold. Another girl then answered the phone to tell me she had went to the bathroom! I proceeded to ask her if she was able to help me since she worked there and she flat out told me, "I don't work here. I just saw her put down the phone so I picked it up." If that doesn't show their level of professionalism, I don't know what does. Frustrated, I continue to wait for the other girl to get back on the phone. I then ask her again where my furniture/items were located. She told me they were still in Tennessee - might I add that they have been sitting there for 3 whole weeks by this time. After 21 days apparently the company is able to start storing your stuff and charging you to do so. My brother called yesterday and they told him it could actually take "30 business days" to get my stuff. Upon hearing this information and feeling as though I have been taken advantage of, he told them he would be filing a complaint with the company and they honestly could have cared less. They do NOT care. I'm nearly 60 years old and all I want is to be able to sleep in my own bed and not be cramped up on a couch. Thankfully, I atleast have that to sleep on. This has been, by far, the worst experience I've ever had. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE. You're honestly better off just paying a complete stranger and renting a U-Haul than hiring this company to do your moving for you. Really though, get friends or family members, anyone you know to help you load it up and unpack it and drive the truck to your new home yourself. Here I am, $1,500 later and still nothing to show for it. That's also just the deposit and the first half of the money you pay. Once I receive my items, I'll have to pay even more money. My original quote all together was $1,400. I even got rid of the couch and a few other items that were included in that quote. And I surely don't think a plastic cover for my bed and 2 extra boxes cost that much. I'll try to update this upon receiving my furniture to let you know how the rest of my experience goes, ya know, if they ever deliver it to me and get it out of Tennessee!
They Saved me a lot of stress
I usually don’t write reviews, but this time I felt I had to. Moving is really not my thing and it’s always a horrible and stressful experience. In the past when I had to move I did it myself and it was always a pain to coordinate everything. Then I’d ask family and friends to help. All around it would be awful but this time I figured I should let experts handle it. I was able to get a good price that I liked with Charter Van Lines and they coordinated my move from Kansas to Florida. Everything was taken care of and I’m really happy I didn’t have to go through this experience again. I saved myself a lot of stress with Charter Van Lines so I highly recommend them.
THE WORST COMPANY EVER
THE WORST COMPANY EVER! They are a broker which they don't care to disclose. They underestimated the actual cost like all brokers do...The actual shipping company refused to load it until they got an extra 5K and if I refused I was out the 3K deposit so I was screwed. They have had my furniture for since Aug 1st and now we are at the 24th and I can not get anyone to call me back on either end. They are very rude after you book and demanding for more money. This is about 60k worth of furniture and I am about to report it stolen.
Charter Van Lines was an amazing help…
Charter Van Lines was an amazing help in my cross country move - providing a great service that I could actually afford.
A couple months back when I was making the long distance trek I was overwhelmed by the process. I needed a company that could work quickly and on my budget. So I figured I wasn’t going to find the help I needed.
Moving a lot in recent years I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with moving companies. So I wasn’t expecting much different when I went with Charter, but I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received.
They were prompt, friendly, and handled everything with care – all my stuff was delivered without damage.
I highly recommend Charter to anyone making a long distance move.
CHARTER VAN LINES IS A JOKE!
CHARTER VAN LINES IS A JOKE!! I CANT BELIEVE ANYONE RATED THEM 5 STARS. THIS MUST HAVE BEEN PEOPLE FROM THE COMPANY OR SOMEOEN THEY PAID.
not only did they not give me my requested pick up date, they wouldn't give me a delivery date. they claimed they would at pick up and then when they got here they still couldn't. its a broker that hires local movers and they disappears and wont reply to emails or calls. Robert at charter van lines was my sales person who completely lied to me saying I would not be charged any additional than what was originally quoted and then movers got here wanting to charge more for weight and space saying they would take the material if not. I fired the movers on the spot and charter van lines refused to refund my deposit.
THEY ARE THE WORST MOVERS IV EVER EXPERIENCED. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A COMPLETE SCAM. THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS. NEVER EXPERIENCED WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. SUCH A JOKE.
When it comes to moving... Are you prepared?
When it comes to moving, let’s be honest. It can be a drastic headache and stuff can be damaged. I thought that, and more before I came across Charter Van Lines, the company was absolutely astounding not only taking tremendous care of my items, but when they arrived I was still moving items and they helped me free of charge. I couldn’t recommend this company enough if you’re moving to a different state, give Charter Van Lines a call. I gave them 1% of my trust and they earned back the other 99% and they’ll be hearing from my Grandma shortly about moving.
Florida to Alabama
MOVING SUCKS!!!! However, Charter Van Lines expertly coordinated my move. As the website indicates, Charter Van Lines coordinates with local moving companies to find the best deal for you with movers in your area. The scheduling agent was friendly and ensured I was ordering the proper sized truck. The quote was an accurate reflection of my total price. There were no billing surprises. The teams of movers that loaded my belongings into the truck, and delivered them to my new apartment were fast, polite, and professional. Out of my ~15 moves, this was the first time that nothing was broken in transit. I could not have had a better moving experience. I would recommend Charter Van Lines to anyone and I intend to use them again in the future.
