Scams they r misleading and thieves never give them your cc information when you call they never answer and bombard you with unanimous charges initially they ask you to pay just $1 a search then instantly they charge u 6.95 and then 29.95 beware of this fraud

Do not look up documents online!!!! Don't do it. Go to a physical government office to do your business. I was looking for information about my divorce online through CheckPeople and as soon as I paid $1 for a document, so I thought, my screen went blank. The site completely disappeared. I contacted the company through email and receipt of the email was confirmed. I never received a response to my concern but I was billed for two sign ups and two subscriptions for a total of over $60. I ended up with fraud alerts and needed to change my card twice to evade this company. Luckily I had gone through PayPal and they were able to "unsubscribe" me. This company cost me a lot of work and anxiety. That is really what you get for $1. Automatic subscriptions should not be legal even if it is stated in the fine print. People have a right to clearly know what they are getting into.

First of all, these jerks sneak in charges & lie on their website. They charged me $6.95 instead of $1 and then 5 minutes later charged me $30!!! 24 hour customer support my a**, they close at 5. Don't be fooled by them...

I conducted 1 search & was offered the report for $1, no hidden fees attached, no membership required. Shouldn't have believed it. In fact, it was an "offer" that was not explicit, whereby you could get unlimited $1 checks for just 5 days, then they would charge you for a "membership." I never authorized another charge. They send it in a email and who checks that? Plus, you can sign in but you won't find a "cancel subscription" button or in fact, any information about your so-called subscription. It doesn't say you have a monthly subscription or a yearly subscription or any dates of activation or expiration. You have to call them but only between the hours of 8-5 EASTERN time M-F. I have yet to find out how hard the sell will be when I call. It's a scam, don't use them.

You have to CALL to cancel, there isn't a way to cancel it online. They will pull you in with $1.00 for "unlimited premium reports" but read the fine print. Your $1.00 gives you access for 5 days. You are agreeing to their "billing terms" which is a hyperlink instead of clearly spelled out where you consent to pay. Since there is also a timer running on how long the $1.00 is going, there is additional emotional pressure to skip over the details and just agree.

I clicked on the link for the "billing terms" you agree to and this is what they are (copied and pasted directly from the pop up):
"*Thank you for choosing CheckPeople.com as your trusted source for public records. Today, you're signing up for our promotional package which gives you 5 day access to our website for $1.00! If you love our service, simply do nothing and after your 5 day trial period ends, you will automatically be billed our discounted monthly price of $29.16. You may cancel your account hassle-free, at any time during business hours by calling us at 1-800-267-2122. Monday to Friday 8am-5pm EST, Saturday and Sunday - Closed."

Also, the information is NOT ACCURATE at all. I didn't go forward with purchasing a report, but I can tell you just from what I was able to see, the site had information from multiple people of the same name mashed together and it wasn't even up to date. The address listed was six years ago and not even in the same city where this person resides now.

I tried to buy a one dollar background check. They immediately hit my card for $29. THREE times in a row !! thank God the money wasn't there. It was declined. I would not recommend it . But if you do readALL OF THE PRINTING before hitting OK

I would hit a ZERO if I could. THEY PROMISED FREE THEN CHARGED A FEE TOTALLY FRAUD.

They say it’s only a dollar and then charge you 30 dollars every damn month without telling you! And if you use apple pay for that dollar it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel.

Would give 0 stars if I could. The captcha system doesn't work at all on Windows. So I used my phone, nbd. Then they banned me for rate limiting? After only 1 search btw - I wasn't even spamming. Wtf, I was just trying to use the site. Actually unusable. I was not able to use it to remove data.

these jokers are ASSISTING STALKERS. the person used their sites to "dox" me, then contact my friends AND business associates AND relatives, to spread evil information about me. the site admits that they are not to be used for employment or housing, so the only thing left is to DOX and CYBERBULLY people. Since the cyber bully FBI people do absolutely zero, the only people left are the police, who will do nothing as well.

I was able to find one that actually would allow me to file a complaint and a court order against the person. Social media sites where the person posted defamatory information about me wont remove the post unless you use Bot triggering words.

I had to go to court to get a restraining order. ALL because this company, who owns a lot of other sites, Is making profit off of trolls, and stalkers.
THIS WILL LEAD TO VIOLENCE, if it hasnt already.

The only way to get police involve is if you fight fire with fire and USE this site yourself to "get back" at the person. Making the site More money.

I looked up my name and age online. Their site listed a few things that were true about me, with a lot of other inaccurate, or false information. I clicked on do not share my information, and was instructed to search my name first, then the site read that I wasn’t in their data banks. I repeated the process with more information, and was told that I have been limited by the site. Basically it kicked me off and refused to delete my information. Be very wary of these crooks.

The website stated I had 5 days to cancel subscription. When I called to cancel the lady said I had only 3 days since I only paid a dollar. The 5 day was applicable if I paid 4.99 or something. Read all the small print. Maybe it does say that, but it sure was not clearly stated. Definitely believe all the other reviews

Furthermore, unauthorized charges may be applied, and the refund process seems to be delayed. Based on this experience, it is strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when considering this service. IN OTHER WORDS DONT USE IT!!!!!!!! THEY ARE RUDE AND NOT HELPFUL OVER THE PHONE .... THIS IS A HUGE SCAM... U WILL BE HIGLY DISAPOINTED

SCAM!!!! I would give a negative rating if I could ! Purchased 85 worth of stuff beginning of June and it has not arrived yet and I can even find the website anymore or anything about this site anywhere except that is is a scam !!!

What a POS platform. Doesn’t actually give you any background information and takes $30 out of your account each month even if not using it. The only upside…. Oh wait… there is none. They seriously couldn’t have done a worse job with this site. Don’t waste your time, money, or patience.

HORRIBLE. Almost impossible to cancel, and if you email they do not respond. Not only have I been charged 20 dollars every month, I went negative on my account because they kept taking more money. AFTER I emailed to cancel I was in fact charged 30 dollars instead of the 20! So they charged even more because I wanted to cancel. They owe me over 200 dollars, that I won’t be getting back.

They advertise a $1 charge for 7 days, however they charge $29.19, and continue trying to charge $29.19, four more times back to back
