I only wanted to check one person. I didn’t even find the information I wanted and was charged a dollar then 695 then 2995. I contacted them but they state it was a seven day free trial and then 2995 thereafter nonrefundable Even though I only checked one name. I did not find that to be clear from the website.

I've written a letter to this company et al, in the mean time will be filing reports with their registrant states.

This company is horrible they kept declining my cards when i went to pay all of them and all information was correct called all of them said nothing was wrong with the card.Tried calling them but they jave nobody to help you on weekends so im going with another service .it boils my blood they have nobody to help you on sundays if they dont have supposrt available they shouldnt let people run reports .

Your company has so many negative responses that you have attempted to rob them as you did us and charged our bank account multiple times, six times each for $1.00 and six more charges for $29.17. I already contacted my bank and stopped all payments.
I am also contacting the BBB as a FRAUD that you are and will try my best to make sure that your company’s name is all over the internet. CHECK PEOPLE, FROM ORLANDO FLORIDA A FRAUD COMPANY!!!!! YOUR COMPANY IS ONE OF THE WORST AS SCAMERS GO.

You think you are paying a dollar but they charged a dollar AND $6.95 as a separate charge plus $30 as a subscription. When you are clicking on the $1, you're also getting these other charges. They are scammers. Don't put in your cc #, just leave their website. Go to White Pages or another website. They are crooks.

Was doing a background check. The cost noted on the site was $1. Checkpeople attempted to charge my card $29 three times. When there is such fraud with the payment, I am so sure there will be inaccurate information provided.

By stopping the scam that says it's only charging0.99 cents but then a $29.99 charge to my card c,mon people need to do better STOP SCAMMING INNOCENT PEOPLE! First and last time I ever use them!

Scam, cheats, lying, two charges in one day , a total of three charges in two days then I tried to look up the same person and they wanted me to sign up again asking for a card number.
This site needs to be shut down immediately.

I went for the $1 trial. And I just did that today and they charged me the $29.17 for the monthly service Plus $6.95 to download a report. I didn't authorize the 29.17 I was going to download a report but now I don't want anything to do with the company after reading all of the bad reviews. I hope I get my money back. But from the sounds of things it doesn't look too promising. This company doesn't even deserve a one star.

Nobody asked for a 30 dollar charge. It stated 1 dollar. Liars.

Cancelling is next to impossible. I wasn't able to cancel, but it didn't matter because they charged my credit card immediately rather than after my 5 day trial. When I was finally able to get my cancellation through, they refused a refund.

I clicked on the sites 1 trial. My bank sent me an alert immediately showing the scam app tried to charge me 29.99 instead the 1.00 trial. Thanks for my bank declined. That tells me right there that checkpeople.com is a fraud and trying to scam people out of their money. Do not use that app

This company is a fraud, beware! I don’t know how they get your information, but they start charging money. If you ever visit their website, check your bank statement.

I was offered a $1.00 deal for unlimited background checks with an agreement that if I don't cancel within three days I would be charged $29.16 monthly. After providing my debit card I was charged $1.00 with a preauthorization for $29.16. If I want to download the report, which is standard, it costs $6.99 more, monthly. To cancel I need to make contact by phone, which I consider sketchy at best. While the report seems comprehensive, I don't trust companies that require a phone call to cancel. Use a credit card, not a debit card.

Tried to cancel my subscription. I called and was assured that my subscription would be canceled. But here we go another month, and I'm being charged again!

I strongly advise against using CheckPeople.com. This company employs highly deceptive billing practices to lure unsuspecting customers into unauthorized subscriptions and fees.

I initially signed up for a seemingly simple, one-time background check, which was advertised as costing only $1. However, upon reviewing my credit card statement, I discovered multiple unauthorized charges:

Deceptive $1 Charge: A misleading initial charge of $1, which was used to bait and switch customers into a subscription.
Unauthorized Monthly Subscription Fees: Two charges of $29.16 each, totaling $58.32, for a subscription I never authorized.
Unauthorized Report Printing Fees: Two charges of $6.95 each, totaling $13.90, for reports I did not request or receive.
This fraudulent activity resulted in a total of $73.22 in unauthorized charges. I had to dispute these charges with my bank, which was a time-consuming and frustrating process.

I urge you to exercise extreme caution when dealing with CheckPeople.com. Their deceptive tactics and dishonest business practices are unacceptable. Please share this review to warn others and help prevent them from falling victim to this scam.

Very deceptive. Signed up for a $1 trial account on what is promoted as a ‘Free’ service. I checked my own records to see how accurate it was, not impressed. Next I was immediately billed three separate times for a total of $37.12. I went to the site to cancel service so they couldn’t charge me again. It wouldn’t let me log in. Twice a reset link was supposed to be sent but never was.

Scam. Said it was $1 but instantly charged my account $29.16.
