Let’s not waste words. You want proof that Default Thinking and Chris will help you achieve the changes you want? Here’s a snapshot of the goals I created and where I was on June 29, my first day of DT:
1. Stop emotional eating. 29th june = Every day. Late night takeaway. Could be any fast food but turn to things like pizza and donuts
2. Increase drive and motivation. 29th June = 3/10. Feel aimless and just trying to get through the days. Not a lot to look forward to that I'm driving towards. Just feels like I'm juggling responsibilities and don't feel like I'm creating anything awesome in my life.
3. Get into a regular fitness routine. 29th June = No regular activity
4. Create positive self talk. 29th June = beat myself up. Life keeps slamming me. Impacting marriage. Feel sadness and anger and will go to drive through. Feel imposter syndrome at work
5. Lose 30-40 lbs. 29th June = Weights been creeping on over the last 2-2.5 years.
Here I am today, 2 months into DT:
1. Stop emotional eating: No longer eat takeout. I eat whole food plant based meals every day of the week. Intermittent fast a few times each week. I indulge in reasonably portioned meals once-to-twice a week. I feel full, satisfied, and proud.
2. Increase drive and motivation: I wake up at 6 am, strength train, take a walk, listen to motivational content, and plan my day every morning. I have a compelling vision that excites me and will take 1-5 years to fulfill. I am driving towards it every week.
3. Get into a regular fitness routine: I walk for at least 20 minutes every day. I strength train every day. I ran 4 miles last week for the first time in 3 years.
4. Create positive self talk: I am becoming my own cheerleader and coach. I use my compelling vision and compelling reasons why to help me overcome challenges with emotional eating. I consciously and intentionally forego unhealthy and delicious foods for healthy and delicious foods and I am genuinely happy about it. I listen to my self talk and actively manage it so I don’t get into dangerous spirals that I used to.
5. Lose 30-40 lbs: I have lost 15 lbs in two months! I KNOW that what I’m doing will work and I will hit this goal eventually. I don’t even question it anymore, like “will I really be able to hit my target weight?” I DON’T ASK THAT QUESTION ANYMORE. I KNOW I will hit it because Chris has empowered me with so much knowledge, so many skills, and helped me build a compelling vision and reasons why.
As you can see from the evolution I have experienced over two months, Chris and Default Thinking work. Chris meets with me on video calls every week for 30 minutes. He answers all my questions with valuable and actionable content. He knows where I am in the program and is able to give me perspective. I know I am in great hands with Chris. The weekly tracker we use is so simple AND effective. I’ve made over 24 behavior changes since we started working together and I’ve been able to sustain them happily!
I am incredibly grateful to be working with Chris. I know that I will achieve my goals. I know I will be able to become my own coach.

His program encompasses all aspects of health focusing on the core reasons that people struggle with weight management and healthy lifestyle. I am a health professional who has studied and been a participant in many different programs for lifestyle and optimal health and this is exactly what is the missing piece to bring lifelong success. This is not about dieting to lose weight. It is a program to learn to have a healthy relationship with food by addressing the root causes of why we have the relationships with food that we have developed and how to make the necessary changes to achieve success.

Chris is a fabulous health coach! I highly recommend his Default Thinking course. I have been diligent with my workouts for years but my eating has been holding me back from achieving the body I desire. Chris’s course is the missing piece on my health journey. It has taught me and provided me with the tools to tackle emotional eating and snacking. He holds me accountable and doesn’t sugar coat what I need to hear (for me, that’s what I need). He is encouraging, straight forward and is able to answers any questions in a timely manner, even given the time difference. You spend money on other frivolous items monthly so why not spend that money wisely and invest in yourself and your health.

If you have a bad relationship with food, this is the program for you. I have learnt so many amazing things during this program that will set me up for the rest of my life. It will also help me be a better leader for my children when it comes to food.
Chris guided me though the program and helped me become aware of the poor choices I had been making with food and my poor mindset. The biggest improvement I have gained is my positive attitude. I am in control of my happiness now and I don’t need to resort to eating to try and help regulate my emotions. The weight loss is a bonus but being happy about my food choices and not being guilty and punishing myself is the best outcome I could have hoped for. It’s also helped me with my anxiety and self sabotaging.
I think the biggest difference with this program is that it’s not solely focused on diet and exercise. It’s not a quick fix program for you to shred 5kg in 5 weeks. Its simple more than that. It’s a program that sets you up and teaches you the principles that you will take away for the rest of your life and help you guide those close to you.
My family and friends have also commented on how my attitude and mindset on life has changed. It’s an amazing feeling.
Chris is also passionate about helping others in their journey and he tailors the program to the individual needs. I am so pleased that I took this step and I’m so proud of myself and the steps I’ve undertaken to improve my life.
Hands down The Best/NO BS Realistic Approach to a Healthier You
Starting this program and meeting Chris has been such an amazing impact on my life! I was on a bad path, overeating, emotionally binging, out of control, drinking wine during the week to cope with anxiety. Not to mention the countless "programs" and "e-books" I had wasted thousands of dollars on that did not work. I was very nervous to begin, because I had a great fear of this ending in the pile of failed diet programs. But this is 100% the most unique and smart approach to sustainable weight-loss and transitioning to a lifelong journey to health.
There has not been one element of this that has not benefited my mindset around health. I have been steadily losing 1 lb a week since beginning, and am now down 10lbs.
I am so much happier with how life is now i feel more in control. I have more energy to keep up with my toddler, I am a better more patient partner to my spouse, and I feel just lighter physically AND mentally.

Thinking about food the whole day, jojoing, until..
In the past I used to struggle, feel bad when I ate something wrong and beat myself up over it. I always thought I was that person that 'just had bad genes', jojoing with my weight all the time, trying a multiple different things to lose weight. Until I joined this programme. It is the best I have ever come across. The quality is just amazing: you can see that everything has been thought of, the structure and build-up are easy to follow and gave me so much insight in how to improve my relationship with food. What is special about this programme is that it does not just focus on one thing (food) but gives you the whole package you need. I.e. it gives you insight in the root cause of eating and behaviour, something that is ultimately the most important to tackle if you want to make changes. Of course it is always work in progress so there are still weeks where I struggle. However, every week I am getting better and every week I am having fun doing so (and the results are already showing halfway through the programme, I already lost 3 kilos in 7 weeks, I EVEN LOST WEIGHT DURING THREE WEEKS OF VACATION!). I can't wait to see what my final results will be.
The content of the videos on the programme is super helpful and I learn things I wish I learned years ago. Furthermore you get a lot of tool that help you improve. This really is a sustainable way to lose weight and become energized and structured in life. I now believe I can do it and be consistent. If I can do it, anyone can.
Furthermore, Chris is a great coach. He genuinely listens if you have challenges, has a quick response time and is open to feedback about everything. Working with Chris has been very beneficial for me. His advice and words of wisdom have helped me to have a more realistic and healthy relationship with food by teaching me simple and realistic ways to cope with binge eating, stress and unexpected situations. Chris is excellent at providing advice and help for my particular challenges. I absolutely love receiving his weekly mindset and it seems like he just knows what positive words and advice I need to hear to get through my week. I wish I found this program years ago.
I have tried a lot of diets and wellness programs, but this one was different. The coaching makes it all customised for ME. It addressed a lot of the reasons why I was overeating, and how to work on that.
I’ve also learnt so much about how whole foods are processed and I cant believe the difference they’ve made in how I feel. I wake up with more energy, a lot more!

Great coach, wish I found him earlier
Provides a personalised experience that specifically helps me and always puts me first. Provides lots of resources and support. He is very fast at replying when you need help outside of the weekly sessions and constantly checks up on you to make sure the program is working for you and helps you improve and stick to the plan we made.

Default Thinking is the only weight loss program that has helped me make permanent changes. They are not a gimmick. This is not a fad. There are no tricks to this. Everything in Default Thinking is based on principles of truth. I very highly recommend it. In working with my weight loss coach over the past eight weeks, I have discontinued snacking between meals 100%. I have overhauled my food choices significantly. I eat so many more whole foods than what I did three months ago. My relationship with food has become so much more healthy. I am learning to be in control. I do not let the food control me any longer. My coach works directly with the problems or issues that I am facing. This is not a canned program at all. Everything has been individualized to me specifically. I’m on my way to making the changes that have been so difficult over the past 60 years. It’s never too late to change. And with the principles that I am learning I have no doubt that these changes will be permanent. Like I said, this is not a gimmick, not a game, or a fad. not just another diet!
I entered this program as a means to an end. I wanted to figure out what was keeping me from losing weight and how to get it off. Chris was patient and kind, he validated my struggles and understood my goals. Chris has a unique approach to coaching, he doesn’t tell you what you need to do or that you should do xyz. Rather, he asks you questions to help you come to the realization that your thinking may very well be a bit off the mark. When I found out I had to watch videos, I was a tad disappointed. After seeing the first series, I looked forward to watching them! I watched them twice! His energy and positivity radiates in the delivery of the message. The videos are incredibly helpful and a great supplement to the work being done on the inside. I throughly enjoyed the weekly goal tracker and progress worksheet. I found the goals meaningful, achievable and worthwhile. Overall, I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to get to the root of their motivation and problems with diet and exercise. This program isnt what you would expect, but in the end it all starts to click and the results are forthcoming.
Outstanding coaching & guidance
Chris has been an outstanding coach. His daily and weekly check ins have been an imperative part of my journey. The way he has his coaching system set up makes it easy to follow and in turn, easy to implement into my daily life (short term and long term goals). I’m a holistic health coach and am super passionate about health and wellness; I walk the walk, talk the talk AND--I’m an emotional eater. For as long as I can remember, I used sugar to sweeten sour situations. I remember sitting on the floor in my kitchen eating delicious chocolate-peanut butter wafers my mom used to buy. I remember sugar for just about every occasion—happy, sad, mad, upset, worried, elated; you name it. I have also tried every diet under the sun to ‘deal’ with my emotional eating. It got to the point where I just kind of gave up. Clearly—despite eating whole food vegan and nutrient dense for my meals, I would be doomed to a life of sugar, carbs and regret. I truly did not believe the cycle could be broken, until I took a leap of faith with Chris and Default Thinking.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those people who dove in head first and reported weekly success stories, a magical release of emotional eating, and food freedom. Nope, not me. I resisted. Because I didn’t believe in myself. Then I actually started watching the videos, implementing the strategies, and utilizing the invaluable daily messaging privileges and weekly calls. I listened to one particular video/audio on the way home from a trip, and I remember that ‘light bulb’ moment. It all began and ended with my thoughts. My beliefs. My mindset. Chris is contagious in his excitement, enthusiasm, and full commitment to the program. Couple that with proven systems that work, and suddenly, I was following through on my self promises. I would go days and WEEKS staying on track. And yes, sometimes I would mess up. BUT instead of the negative self-talk this time it’s different. With the tools I’ve learned from this program I get right back on track—unheard of with the old me. If I went off track, I reallllllly took advantage and ate a ton of sugar until the ‘next Monday’. Ha!
This program is a significant investment in yourself. But if you are sick of the same story, make the commitment. I can honestly say I’ve finally changed my relationship with food. And while I’m not perfect, I’m perfectly happy and most importantly I believe in myself and KNOW I don’t need to use food to soothe my emotions anymore. Thank you Default Thinking and Chris!
Life changing
Working with Chris has been life changing. I have been on countless diets and programs in the past but none of them address the emotional side of eating and focusing on your reason for why you want to lose the weight. We all know what we should do but it’s the actual doing that I struggled with. Chris helped clear up the conflicting information of what I should/shouldn’t eat for weight loss. He has challenged me and taught me lifetime lessons that I will call upon for a long time. I didn’t want to be a person who yo yo dieted for the rest of my life and this program has helped me find a sustainable solution. I have made some big improvements to my lifestyle and diet but I think they biggest change has been putting myself first and prioritising my health above anything else. Another big win has been losing the “all or nothing, perfectionist” mind set. I now focus on the small changes I can make every day that over time will add up to a big change.
It has helped me with being 100% honest with myself and dropping the excuses. Chris has also encouraged me to face uncomfortable situations such as not drinking at social events or reaching out to friends and explaining that I'm prioritising my health. Every time I overcome an uncomfortable situation feels like a win and I have had nothing but support and encouragement from friends and family.
This is a big investment and I am yet to see big weight loss results but I know this will come with time and the fact weight hasn’t dropped off instantly has shown me that it is a sustainable approach. I have lost an average of 5cm from every part of body and my clothes are feeling looser. I am also no longer bloated and don’t retain fluid in face like I used to.
My experience
It was great to have weekly meetings with Chris to figure out undealt stress triggers throughout the day that leads me to stress/binge eat. It was great to have our meetings as a safe space to talk about binge eating and to come up with attainable plans and goals weekly. I definitely now have a lot less shame with my relationship with food as I continue to form healthy habits.

The Default Thinking program is a must for anyone who is looking to improve their relationship with food and eating habits. I joined the program because I struggled with emotional eating/ stress eating and the program is unlike any other nutrition programs I have seen as it really tackles how to change your behavior and work on your mindset around food. The DT Method is different from other weight loss programs I have tried as it focuses on the core thoughts and behaviors behind emotional eating. In the first 2 months of the program my LDL decreased by 22 points. I lost 10-11 lbs, which is about 30% of my total goal (Christmas and NY was included in these two months!!). I have incorporated more plant based foods into my diet and am not carb-phobic any longer. I can still eat pizza on Fridays, too. If you are willing and ready to put in the time and effort, you will see benefits in multiple areas of your life, not just weight loss!

Anything that can achieve that is awesome in my book. Chris is a great coach who helped me make small changes over time that got me great results. It was easy, I never felt overwhelmed or deprived of my favourite foods, he helps you identify obstacles that might derail your progress in advance so you feel confident and in control. If something pops up you can message him and he always replies promptly with the support you need. It's really beneficial to have someone to talk with each week that can identify your behaviour patterns, self-talk and help change your mindset. He helps you set small achievable goals each week which keep you focused and working towards the life you really want. I'd highly recommend Default Thinking, Chris is really knowledgeable and passionate about helping people.
