DT Changed My Mindset

I do not enjoy cooking very much or meal prepping at all. I was skeptical when I first started but my coach Chris listened go me and taught me that it was my mindset, not my cooking or meal prep that would get results. It was easier than I thought it would be. My coach Chris defined the behaviors that were not serving me AND gave me a roadmap to change my mindset and behaviors. I have not only had results in the way my clothes fit but I am stronger physically and emotionally and have taken control back in my life. Chris taught me how to change my mindset and it is changing my life as a whole for the better!

Thank you Chris for everything

Thank you Chris for everything. I am way better in my eating habits than I was before. There are so many things I learned about myself and how my body works with your program. I can't wait to restudy it again because their are so many things that I can re learn again. Great experience with the program, enjoyed all my time sheets and most of all what sacrifices am I willing to make to keep my journey healthy? I will keep fighting and stay strong in my healthy journey here and the next.

DT will change your life in ways you could never imagine…

After being on every single diet imaginable (some so embarrassing to even mention) never did I imagine how much I would get out of this AMAZING program.
I didn’t have tonnes of weight to lose but what I did have was a terrible relationship with food. Especially when it came to overeating, followed by the regret and then the ‘stuff it’ I’ll start my diet on Monday roller coaster.
Then in lockdown, I got so down on myself and felt so ashamed and embarrassed of, not only how I looked and how I was feeling, but how I was behaving around my family! Always grumpy. As a mother of 2 young kids, I knew that if I didn’t change my behaviour, my thought process & my attitude around food there was a BIG chance the kids would learn this terrible behaviour. And the last thing I ever want is for the kids to go through years of yo-yo dieting, self loathing and just a generally bad relationship around food like I did.
Only Chris knows how nervous I was to start this program but he is genuinely the nicest, most caring & knowledgeable man. I have enjoyed every part of this program and highly recommend it. If I could give it 10 stars I would.
The program is about so much more than weight loss, that’s just a bonus. I am now confident that I have the right tools to educate my kids so they can lead a life free of fad diets.
And you want to know the best part of all? There’s no counting calories, no weighing food, no complex recipes to follow & no ridiculous exercise expectations.
Just a simple, no fuss way of making changes to suit your life to get great results. The simplicity is the stand out for me. Chris is an awesome coach - I can’t thank him enough…
It’s a massive decision to make, a little scary and daunting but you will NOT regret it.

Wellness for both my mind and body

Chris has helped me change the way I think about food completely.

I've tried a lot of diets and done my research, and Chris still managed to teach me many new things about how my body works, and how my thoughts and emotions tie into everything.

This marks the first time I've ever lost any weight without counting calories (around 10 lbs so far in 2 months).

I look forward to a lifetime of applying the practices I've learned through the default thinking course, the lessons have been invaluable.

Thanks again Chris for helping me down the path to sustainable, positive change.

So much more than weight loss

I was hesitant to try the Default Thinking program at first. It’s scary to make the jump to invest in yourself. There’s always excuses: I don’t have the time, I’m not able to lose weight and be healthy, it’s too expensive, etc. Aren’t you tired of the excuses? I know I was, which is why I took the chance.

I’ve been struggling for many years now with my weight. I felt tired all the time and unhappy with myself. It drove me to have a negative and punishment mindset around food and health. I’ve tried many diets: keto, intermittent fasting, calorie counting, whole 30. Nothing worked. They were too restrictive and being a picky eater, I couldn’t find anything I liked.

Default Thinking is unlike anything out there I’ve experience! Working one on one with a health coach was intimidating at first, but I quickly warmed up to him. The coach has always been respectful, nonjudgmental, supportive, and has an answer for everything I throw at him. Through this program, I’ve lost some weight which is amazing, but turns out, not the biggest win for me. This is so much more than about losing weight. I’ve made lifelong, lasting changes that I can carry with me after the program. I feel phenomenal in my body!! I understand what my body needs and how to give it that. I actually wasn’t eating enough and not eating the right things. I’m not ashamed of eating anymore. I’m not punishing myself or restricting my diet. I have more energy and it lasts all day. I’m able to do things I love.

I cannot say enough good things about this program. I still have weight to lose, but I’ve also lost so much of the negativity I’ve carried around food and health for so long. I’ve gained perspective, understanding, happiness, and a new appreciation for myself and my body. Take the chance on yourself. Take the leap of faith. You are worth it!

Default Thinking was the lifeline I needed

When I found Default Thinking I was feeling pretty depressed and a bit broken with the state of my health and my future going forward. I’ve started and failed diets too numerous to count. As a Type II diabetic I knew better but continued to self sabotage my own health not knowing why. I thought I was just weak. The Default Thinking program was the lifeline I needed. Chris helped me create a vision for my future that gave me the hope and the tools to make it happen. I stopped listening to the outside noise and beliefs of all the diets past. I started listening to my body and how I felt and what gave me energy. Slowly I started squeezing out the unhealthy foods and distractions in my life that were holding me back from the life I wanted to live. And you know what? I don’t really miss them. I have cut my fasting blood sugar in half since joining the program. I still have room for improvement but I now realize I’m in control and I will get there. Not only have I lost weight which is awesome but I am more responsible with how I spend my money and my time. I found my authentic self and I am living life with a feeling of freedom and excitement for what my future will hold. Feeling very blessed to have found Default Thinking.

Straight Away

Straight Away
I joined DT a few months ago and I would like to share with you one word of what DT has given me in just this short time. FREEDOM! The exercises (and I don’t mean squats) are life changing! Ever week I learn something that will help me reach my daily goals! The simple tips and tools help me so much. I have years of building strongholds, but I have learned ways to change my thinking and breakdown each stronghold. One of my most stressful strongholds was being a perfectionist. My mind kept telling me things like you’re a failure, you will never lose weight, etc. Today, I do not do those things. I never thought I would be excited for oats and berries for breakfast. This is one of my favorites. So filling and delicious. I do not feel deprived about anything.

This program works!

This program works!!

I was terrified entering this program because everything I had done to improve my relationship with food hadn't worked.

I had a HORRIBLE relationship with food, I had tried a 12 Step eating disorder program, I tried eating disorder therapy, I tried every diet I could find. I dabbled in different forms of purging.

Chris's program, unlike everything I had done previously, addressed the core root of my binging.

Working with Chris taught me my binges were due to an overwhelm of stress I didn't even realize I was experiencing, I wasn't eating enough, and I was using food as a way to change my state.

Working with Chris taught me how to become aware of and manage my stress, eat enough, and *hack* my brain to make it possible for me.

I haven't had a binge in weeks! Now even if I overeat a bit, I shrug it off and get back on track. I'm no longer devastating by food. I have so much more emotional energy and I'm so much more optimistic about my life, food, and my body.

Food doesn't even feel like that big of a deal to me anymore. It's hard to believe that just over 10 weeks ago I was living in crushing anxiety around food and dieting, now I feel like I'm in control of what I put in my body, and I'm armed with new nutritional insight that's my body seems to react very well to.

I've learned I CAN change and I just need a few tweaks to get back on track. I've learned I'm a normal person with a normal relationship to food, I just need to continue certain behaviors to continue it.

I highly recommend this program to others!!

An investment in your future

To make any big life change is daunting. To have a safe hand to guide you through it, free of judgment and full of empathy, is simply invaluable. Chris has had the insight and foresight to create a programme for meaningful, lasting change.

As a diligent student of the diet industry for the last 25 years, I knew there HAD to be another way to live, but I couldn’t find it. I use Coaching expertise to support me in the running of a demanding business, it made sense to take the same approach to my health. What could be more precious?

The Default Thinking programme encompasses every facet of why we eat, and thankfully gives you all the tools to help you work towards your goals, with healing and kindness. Change your relationship with food forever with Defaultthinking

After 20+ years of searching for a way to lose weight and reclaim a healthy food mindset, I have finally found it!
I have tried many of the well-known weight loss companies, but they failed to provide me with the knowledge and tools I needed to permanently change my attitude to food.
I had put on a lot of weight; I had also lost all the joy around food & eating that I had once known. Through the Defaultthinking program, I have undertaken a relearning of how to relate to food and how to make my relationship with food as healthy as possible. My coach has so much knowledge about food & nutrition that he was able to share with me in such a way that the learning was interesting, relevant and easy to implement in my day-to-day food preparation.
For as long as I remember, feeling stressed, sad or overwhelmed meant comfort eating and unsettled feelings went hand in hand. The Defaultthinking program has helped me to identify the triggers that led to overeating. The program has given me multiple strategies for coping where historically I would have reached for food.
The Defaultthinking coach is respectful, friendly and enthusiastic. He believed in me and never expressed any doubt about my ability to get through this journey.
The activities and coaching support offered by the Defaultthinking program helped me to focus on an exciting future. For so long I loathed my body, and I couldn’t allow myself to think about what was happening tomorrow let alone in the future. This program helped me to lose weight, make plans for my future and it’s given me back the confidence to live my life.
If you’re like me and you’ve just about given up on ever hoping to have a normal relationship with food, please try just this one more thing. I did, and I am forever thankful that I reached out for help.

Take a chance and dive in head first.

The default thinking method is awesome. I was so sick of getting massive energy crashes, feeling sluggish, having uncontrollable cravings and being stuck in a negative mindset. With Chris’ help and patience, I’ve focussed on my wins, get through my day with way more energy to spare on my students and, for the most part, I don’t crave like I used to. My emotional eating has stopped and left room for me to deal with the emotions so I can focus on what I really want in life. I can’t thank Chris enough for this change. My health is a priority and my mindset has lifted to focus on the good I already have and want to kee building.

Lasting Changes

I have tried every diet and exercise fad or trend. I have spent so much money, time, and energy on quick fixes and various gimmicks (meal replacement shakes, anyone)? I have spent years feeling defeated and like I was incapable of change. I have cried over my “failures,” frustrated that I couldn’t stick with anything longer than a month or two, not even for my son. I was always waiting for the hormonal changes or the stress that would completely derail any progress. And why jump back on the train when 1-2 weeks out of the month set you back to square one? Easier to just give up and *sigh* accept that this is life. You’re just always going to be fat and unhappy.

Now, I’m not going to be dramatic. None of that changed overnight. I still have to talk myself down from the all-or-nothing ledge sometimes. But I know how now. And I know how to remind myself why I’m doing this and I know how to look at the evidence I’m creating that I’m in no way a failure just because those tricks didn’t work. Chris (and Default Thinking) has opened my eyes to small ways I can change that aren’t overwhelming. I feel more vibrant. And my world doesn’t revolve around food; I don’t obsess over it. There’s no calorie counting. I don’t even meal prep (because I don’t want to…though you could if that works for you). Most importantly, I feel like the changes can last. (They have…I have lost weight consistently - and kept it off - through completing a degree, taking the most important test of my life, arguments with family, COVID chaos, and those hormonal fluctuations). I feel like I can do this. That is worth more than I can say. And I will be forever grateful.

Unlike any program out there!

Chris’s coaching worked for me because unlike the programs I had previously tried, he helped me identify the emotional aspects of why I was overeating and carrying extra weight. I was able to interrupt my behaviour patterns before they manifested in a full blown binge, and I now eat to nourish my body because I genuinely respect it, rather than dieting from a place of resentment or self loathing. Now that this block is out of the way I know I can do anything I put my mind to, weight related and beyond!

This program has given me peace with…

This program has given me peace with food. It is a game changer. The focus is on on your mindset/beliefs/perspectives and behaviors and will change your life. I am losing weight effortlessly for the first time and have said goodbye to the endless binge/starve cycles forever. I'm not on a diet anymore it's now a permanent way of life that will get me the results I want in time. If you have ever struggled with your weight this program will help you find a permanent solution.

It was great!

It's been about 3 months since completing the DT program and I'm quite happy to say, I've been able to maintain my weight as well as the positive mindset towards my health and overall life. Reaching for food in times of stress is now rarely an issue which is a massive achievement for me. Chris was a wonderful coach who explained things to me really clearly with his many analogies. I'm a bit of a night owl, but he really helped me create and implement plans around my lifestyle as well. It's been great!

Chris and his program has been a massive help in healing my relationship with food, and I am really grateful and proud that I've come this far. I had an unhealthy relationship with food for as long as I can remember from all my previous diets, trying to restrict food and then trying not to restrict foods. I was also going to counselling on and off before, but I've not needed to go back since graduating this program.

Chris has given me so many tools to use and ha! They work. It's a life long tool that I can use. For the first time I know that this is going to be my new life from now on. It's been really great. Thank you so much, and take care!

Chris & his DT Method is awesome & life changing

This has been the most amazing experience! I worked with Chris back in 2020 as we were going through lockdowns and if you’ve had the pleasure of talking to Chris then you’ll know that he is a breath of fresh air in this industry. We didn’t talk about restricting foods, calorie counting or overhauling my entire diet. I joined Chris as someone who had been dieting for over 25 years, struggling with stress eating and binge eating. I had tried everything under the sun but I’m SOOO glad that I took the plunge and worked with Chris. The coaching he offers is incredible and he was able to tell me exactly what I needed to do. I’m now in the best shape of my life and have so much more energy than I used to have. If you’re like me and you were sceptical about it being too good to be true, then don’t worry, take the plunge and you’ll be so glad that you did.

Best decision I ever made

I joined the program mid last year in 2020 and it has been the best decision I've ever made in my life. I've lost and kept the weight off ever since finishing the program, and it's just so liberating to not have to think about food all the time. It's so much more than weight loss, it's completely changed my entire life and allowed me to feel happier, feel free from food, and stop the emotional eating for good. I was hesitant to join at first (in hindsight I now know I was being silly), because I had tried and failed at so many weight loss diets, shakes, juice cleanses before and this was definitely not my first rodeo. But Chris helped me see that this was not at all like anything I had tried before, so I joined, and it has honestly been the best decision for me. I was not and still don't think of myself as the most confident type of person, but through the program I've noticed I've gained a lot of confidence. Because for the first time now I am happy about the way I look in photos, I am happy I no longer get anxious about filling my calendar with too many social events (which always involve food and drinks), and just so happy that 'that part of me' is no longer an issue in my life which is allowing me to chase other goals in my life as well. I'm not sure if that helps but if anyone is going through what I went through, I'd definitely recommend giving the program a go. And actually give it your all and do the work because I am so grateful to Chris and his program for pushing me to do it. Many many thanks.

The shift in my life I needed!

After a lifetime of struggling with my weight and relationship with food, Default Thinking has put me on the track of success. During the program, I was working away from home non-stop with 12 hour shifts and with a plan in place I was still able to work towards my goal without little no challenge.

The biggest impact Default Thinking has done is help vastly improve my mindset. From feeling hopeless and lost, I now I have a real plan with a real goal that I know I will accomplish.

Physically, I've also changed for the better. I now wake up before my alarm goes off feeling well rested, have more energy throughout the day, and I'm able to follow asleep. My weight loss journey is just beginning but so far I've already had to downsize a few of my clothes and even add extra wholes into belt to cinch it smaller!

Thank you so much for jumpstarting my journey!
