Would never recommend this company

I paid for a special order dress in the color and style my friend selected for her wedding, and paid for expedited processing just to give extra time. I was professionally measured and used their size chart when purchasing the dress, and yet when it arrived it is MASSIVE. Dessy blamed me and said I should have reached out to a stylist for sizing help but I saw no need to as their own size chart said which size to order. They then said I should have used their sizing tool which would have told me to go a size down, but even still the dress would have been massive. I now have to pay MORE than I paid for the dress in tailoring fees. I am furious. Every girl in this bridal party I'm in has had the same issue, dresses are too big even with some of them ordering TWO sizes down.

To make it worse, when I left a review on the dress they replied trying to discredit me because I live in the UK and didn't use a reseller in the UK and instead ordered the dress to my moms house who lives In the US and arranged a trip back when it was delivered to pick up the dress. This has nothing to do with their poor sizing and product and was so bizarre to try and make this my fault. The gaslighting has been so disheartening.

Disgusting company would never ever ever recommend them.

Will scam to avoind returning unworn dress with tags

Purchased a formal gown through Macy's and returned it because of a bad fit. They DECLINED and sent back my return because of a pulled thread that was not there when it was returned with all of its tags on. Macy's stepped in to handle this and apologized for the unprofessional seller.

Dresses are gorgeous but I couldn’t get…

Dresses are gorgeous but I couldn’t get mine as I needed it for a wedding and it shipped to their international shipper shopex pretty quickly but after that my parcel was stuck there for 3 weeks no sign of movement until I demanded a refund. Gloves shopex don’t answer easily and kept promising each week it would be shipped at end of week. Dessy tried to deflect blame and not help me out until I said it was partly their fault as they chose shopex. I would avoid if you are buying outside of the states

This company does not stand behind its…return policy.

This company does not stand behind its return policy. They are not accredited with the BBB and are sitting at at rating of D-. Dessy is not worthy of spending your hard earned money with them. I am being denied my return because they stated that the two dresses that I ordered were worn. They were never worn except for trying on within my home which is difficult at best with the way the ribbon security tag is attached. This return was done in original packaging with security tag attached but some carpet lint bc it was too long. I also purchased from Azazie, Birdy Grey, JJs House, Bloomingdale’s and Dillard. No problem with any of those returns and exact same circumstances. Do business with a company that is worthwhile of your money. This business isnt it.

I did not even order anything

I did not even order anything. The contact with the customer service was very frustrating. Apparently they don’t need customers.
Can’t really recommend it and decided not to buy. Good luck with such a customer service if you run into issues.

No Returns

I ordered a dress in two different colors from Macys online. I tried both dresses on and they did not fit. I put both dresses back on the hangers and in the box they came in. I brought them back to Macys the next day. Dessy then turned around and said one of the dresses was damaged with a stain on it refusing to refund the stained dress. Dessy shipped me the damaged dress and upon inspection there are no stains on the dress. They put a green paper dot where supposed stain was and there is nothing. I inspected the rest of the dress and can not find any stains. In dealing with Macy’s it wound up costing 50% of the cost of the dress as a settlement which is nonsense considering the dresses where in perfect condition. Do not trust Dressy Group as they are scammers. Macys did there best being in the middle.

We ordered 5 dresses

We ordered 5 dresses of various styles bit all in the same colour. Before ordering, I sent a link to my Bridesmaids in how to properly measure your body . With the measurement, each girl looked at the chart to see what size suited their measurement and ordered. All they had to do was get it hemmed. Every dress was a perfect fit. So pleased.

AVOID- cheap and terribly made dresses

I ordered a dress based on the reviews on their website which I now learned are filtered. They only post the positive reviews - beware!!!
I ordered a dress through a retailer. It was stained & the dress did not look like the photo online. The dress looked like a 30$ dress. Extremely cheap and poorly made. There was some defects on the skirt.

Dessy took no accountability. They kept telling me they never had quality complaints. According to them I was the first one to complain about this specific dress so that means its impossible that there was a quality issue. No logic what so ever!!! They told me to go back to the retailer (which I did and they ordered to clean it with dish soap for me - yes they told me that!!).

We ordered a total of 6 dressed from them and this was the service we got. One girl had to reorder because of a sizing chart issued and the second dress she ordered (from the website) was torn and had a huge stain.

Just avoid. Go spend a few dollars more on a mori lee dress and you’ll be much better off!!

For issues with orders purchased through independent authorized retailers, you must contact the bridal shop for assistance. As we discussed with you, we cannot step in front of the retailer to assist you directly. If the matter requires our participation, they will contact us on your behalf, so we can work together on a solution — especially when it involves a defect. Of course, if a bridal shop isn't able or willing to assist you, we encourage you to contact us to help facilitate a solution. According to our customer service records, our communications mainly revolved around a stain on your dress, and the shop you purchased your dress from was eager to help you. However, you did not allow them to assist you. (Dish detergent is actually a perfectly viable cleanser for our lux chiffon fabric.) As explained in our communications, we aim to produce beautiful, quality dresses. We rely on customer feedback to ensure that our products are delivered as expected. We take quality issues seriously and relay applicable information to our factories. We also use customer feedback trends to guide enhancements to our collections — for example, comments on styling or fabrics. We wish you were open to working with the bridal shop to address your concerns. And that you relayed all of your concerns, particularly if there was a defect in the skirt. Awful

I ordered a dress for my brother's wedding. According to their size chart, I should fit their smallest size perfectly. I paid extra to have the dress sent faster, but it still took several weeks. Once it arrived, I tried it on and the bust was HUGE. NOTHING like the size chart, at all. It is completely ridiculous--there is so much extra fabric that there is literally a vertical flap sticking off my chest, and I am not even flat chested! I tried to leave a review on their website but they never actually posted it, which feels super sketchy. And, I have to pay a 25% restocking fee so I can't even get a full return. The quality of this dress was horrible and their customer service is nearly impossible to get a hold of. I will never order from here again.

Wedding planning wasn’t easy. Dessy made it worse.

UPDATE: Dessy attempted to contest this review on WeddingWire. I have evidence to support all of my claims, so their dispute was unsuccessful. Brides, beware!

Wedding planning wasn’t easy, especially in a pandemic. Most of our vendors adjusted to the uncertain times, kept us in the loop with changes, and bent over backwards to make our day as perfect as possible in a pandemic. Not Dessy.

We ordered bridesmaids gowns in June 2021 for my wedding in October 2021. Orders were expected to ship mid-September. Come September, no updates from Dessy, so we reach out for tracking information.

Imagine our surprise when Cindy Dessy replies that their factory shut down, our gowns are not in production, and they will not arrive in time for the wedding. Let me clarify: Dessy did not attempt to contact us about this when the factory shut down, they waited until WE ASKED THEM, with only 5 weeks to go until the wedding.

Cindy Dessy gave me a call, and I expected to discuss a solution. Instead, Cindy listed out excuses, met my concerns with condescension and hostility, and showed no empathy or remorse. It became my job to keep the call on-track and find a solution. Cindy only apologized once - at the very end of the call, as she hung up.

Dessy offered to replacements from their domestic stock - gowns in the same colors, but not the styles we had chosen. While not ideal, it was a solution, and Cindy assured me the gowns would arrive on time.

But the gowns that did arrive were defective or mishandled. One gown meant to ship to New York was instead shipped to New Jersey - to a town that doesn’t exist. Other gowns arrived with unraveling lace, torn skirts, and bleach stains. Some gowns could be salvaged, others couldn’t, and we had to turn to other retailers. (Brides, may I recommend Lulu’s and Amazon?)

Dessy should learn from this, reevaluate their business practices, and offer professional development training to Cindy. But I do not expect them to do so. Instead of learning from the pandemic, they made its uncertainty and chaos their business model. Brides, RUN AWAY from Dessy - they will not meet your expectations, even if you expect the bare minimum.

Dessy is unreliable, don't buy from here.

I get Married in 2 months. I have 8 bridesmaids and all of them ordered their dresses ahead of time for my wedding in November of 2021. It is now September… and one of my bridesmaids who ordered her dress in May, received an email from Dessy stating that “they cannot fulfill her order due to COVID regulations”. So now, she is stuck without a bridesmaid dress. All of my girls ordered the color amber sunset in Lux Chiffon and they all came in on time and were beautiful. However, the bridesmaid that does not have her dress now has to worry about finding another one off of a different site, and we’re hoping it’s the same color. I am So upset with dessy. I’ve tried calling, no answers no matter how long you wait or call, they actually hang up the phone on you. She cannot get another dress from dessy because they take 24 weeks to ship. So what is she supposed to do, Dessy? As the bride, this is very annoying because now I have to worry about one of my bridesmaids dresses looking completely different than the rest of the dresses. They said they would give her a coupon. That does not help when my wedding is less than 2 months away, and Dessy screwed us over. Not happy at all and I would really appreciate a response in order to fix this issue, because my bridesmaid did everything she was supposed to by ordering her dress ahead of time, and Dessy did not do what they were supposed to do

Terrible

I ordered a bridesmaid dress with no special sizing or instructions plenty of time before the wedding. It fit perfectly, but the style did not suit my body and I was told I looked "frumpy." So, I went online to return it and select a different Dessy dress. Dessy said my dress was a special order and could not be returned/refunded. I then looked at the bridesmaid dresses in my showroom, and all of them say "special order" in small print underneath! I feel scammed and am disappointed in their business ethics. I asked to return it anyway and received no reply. Avoid this place, they do not deserve your business.

Therefore, many style, color, and size combos need to be manufactured when an order is placed - these are called Special Order. Unfortunately, we can only accept exchanges on damaged/defective Special Order dresses because they are manufactured specifically for customers' orders. Although, in some justified instances, accommodations will be made. We label Special Order products throughout our website, including showrooms, product pages, and in multiple spots in the shopping cart. We also message this information in the order confirmation email, which explains that you have the option to cancel your order within 24 hours. I understand your frustration; however, we disagree with your questioning of our ethics. We provide many notifications throughout the purchase process, and we are not unique in our return policy regarding products fabricated for an order placed. Best, The Dessy Group

Rushed, Overpriced, Unhelpful and Underwhelmed

I took my two bridesmaids for a fitting at Dessy’s Toronto location. Our consultant was nice enough, but she was bound by Dessy’s appointment rules which made my bridesmaids feel very hurried and disappointed throughout the appointment.

Unfortunately, the majority of the 12 choices we wanted were not available to try on in any colour or required size. We kept being reminded that we only had a few minutes left and that we were weren’t allowed to stay past our 30-40 minute time slot. The place is in the middle of an industrial area and there were no groups waiting before or after us...it wasn’t busy! Being made to feel that we had to rush was not a great feeling and really turned my bridesmaids off the idea of purchasing any dress from Dessy.

Once we left Dessy, we were able to get a last-minute appointment at David’s Bridal - who were actually very busy but welcoming - that day. My bridesmaids found and tried on dresses very similar to the styles that they had seen on the Dessy website, and they purchased them that day.

Unfortunately, Dessy’s appointment policies and rush tactics lost them business. The process of selecting a dress from Dessy seemed extremely confusing and if they didn’t fit, there are no returns. To reiterate a previous review, they are not custom dresses, just made in a size in the colour you want. Alterations are not offered, so after you pay over $300 for the dress, you’d have to find a seamstress and pay her another $100+. My bridesmaids just weren’t willing to make the gamble, especially after such an underwhelming appointment. It may have been a different story if the dresses were really special in person, but they were the same as what you’d find anywhere else.

Awesome company! Chelsea is the best!

I don’t even know where to start! I had the best experience. My bridesmaids, all 8, live all over the country so there was no way to meet in person to try on dresses! Every size they ordered fit great and the color (seagrass green) was unbelievably beautiful! I came into a conflict when one of my bridesmaids was unable to make the wedding A WEEK BEFORE! I contacted customer service and got Chelsea, thank goodness, who jumped into action contacting the warehouse. They had one dress in that color and style and luckily that was around the size of my new bridesmaid! She cancelled thursday, I contacted them Friday, ordered the dress and received it Wednesday! If it wasn’t for Chelsea and her great assistance and quick thinking and acting, the wedding wouldn’t have gone as perfectly as it did! Oh and the ties were great and delivered quickly! I ordered swatches of everything months before and they also came quickly! All I know is that this company went above and beyond to resolve a conflict and the customer support is beyond helpful and kind! Thank you thank you thank you!

Delusions of grandeur

Dresses that have restricted size guidelines are, say it with me now, not a custom order. They are dresses, made in sizes. Period. There is absolutely nothing custom about them aside from color. The sizing guides are extremely inaccurate, and the return policy doesn't apply to all styles of dresses. You can measure, and follow the fitting guide to a T, but be ready to pay through the nose for head to toe alterations. Seems a little expensive for a $300 "custom dress", doesn't it?

No return or exchange policy. Claims dressed are "made to order" but you order by standard sizes w/ no options to exchange. If dresses doesn't fit, you're out of luck.
