Dog Training College Reviews 

I booked on the skills workshop 3 months in advance, it was set to take place in September 2025 (£500 plus an additional £200 in hotel fees). I received confirmation when I booked, then no further information. I tried to contact the company the week of the training but couldn't get through on the phone or email. Eventually I found out through a facebook comment (the night that I was planning to leave) that the company had cancelled all training. Their lack of communication has made it impossible to get a refund, plus my own additional expenses are now lost.
Please, I beg you, anything you hand over to this company is money down the drain.

My daughter completed her Dog Trainer certification with Dog Training College in May 2025.after paying hundreds of pounds. Part of the agreement was that she would receive a certificate and lanyard on completion. Despite repeated promises since May 2025, nothing has arrived.

We have emailed multiple times, received assurances that it would be “sorted,” and even issued a formal complaint with deadlines. Each time, we have either been ignored or fobbed off. It is now months later, and still nothing has been provided.

The certificate is not a trivial item – it is evidence of qualification and directly impacts her credibility as a professional dog trainer. Without it, she cannot prove the training she has invested in.

This feels like a breach of trust and a breach of contract. Other graduates have also been waiting since as far back as January 2025, so this appears to be an ongoing problem.

Sadly, based on our experience, I cannot recommend Dog Training College. If you are considering training with them, be aware that you may not receive the certification you have paid for

Ordered 3 books but never received them. Tried to contact DTC multiple times via phone and email. Promised call backs from DTC never happened and emails never replied to. Have phoned them every day to try and resolve this week and today they aren't even answering the phone.
I am now going to have to try and arrange charge back through my credit card.
I would advise avoiding this company. I have never experienced anything like this before when ordering goods online. Their customer service is awful.

Well presented and informative course. Juanita Rogers is an excellent instructor. I highly recommend this course.

Staff have all left apart from the directors , the directors sister and one mentor - because they haven't been paid that's not financial restructure
They say they are selling a new business course but owe HMRC £800k
People asking to be paid are ignored and Dtc are panicking hence the begining and bringing for good reviews that you can see below.
Laughable really.

I think it’s very cheap for what you actually get if they was to up the price I would still pay the lessons are nice and easy to understand they offer a lot of support if you need it you get a lot for a very cheap price I will definitely continue to expand my knowledge using this company

I’ve been a student with Dog Training College for the last 5 years, and I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my career. Over that time, I’ve completed the Dog Trainer Certification program, Instructor Courses, and so much more — and the knowledge I’ve gained has been invaluable. I wouldn’t be where I am today as a dog trainer without DTC.

The team at DTC are fantastic. The courses and content are outstanding, always up-to-date and delivered in a way that’s practical and easy to apply. The support and advice from the team and mentors have been nothing short of amazing. They’re always there to guide you, encourage you, and help you grow both personally and professionally.

I’ve done courses with other companies before, but the level of support, learning, and community at DTC is simply unmatched. If you’re serious about becoming a skilled, confident dog trainer, I cannot recommend Dog Training College enough.

Firstly I want to mention the bad reviews.....I haven't experienced any of this which is why I have given 5 stars.
I have done various courses with DTC over the years and each one has given me knowledge that I can use in my business.
Communication can be a bit slow at times but that is the only minor issue I have.
Over all I love DTC and will continue to use their resources.

I found this course very informative and I love going to headquarters for in person courses or presentations. There have been some cancellations lately but I’ve still been able to rebook onto future dates. Leanne has always been very supportive and is always happy to listen to any questions I may have.
I love that there are always new things coming out and the information is always being updated.

This isn’t an easy review to write, but it needs saying. Several trainers (including close friends and colleagues of mine) have now been waiting months to be paid. The stress and uncertainty this is causing is huge, and I’m sick of seeing people treated like mugs. It’s simply not acceptable.

I used to be proud to be associated with the DTC. Now, I find myself wanting to move as far away from that connection as possible, and that says a lot!

As a business owner, I understand that companies can go through financial difficulties. But communication is everything. Talking openly and honestly about situations like this prevents frustration, worry, and unnecessary stress for everyone involved.

We pour our time, skills, and hearts into this work. The least we deserve is fairness and respect — just as we show to the dogs we work with!

Transparency and accountability are needed now more than ever. People deserve answers, and they deserve what they’ve earned.

Can absolutely recommend, 10/10, the course is very well thought out. There has been some restructuring recently and there did seem to be a few admin issues, but I don’t know if they have been resolved. The courses are vast and well presented and very thorough. The recent changes to the Trainer Course are welcomed as this feels more in line with other schools I have attended.
I was shocked to see all the negative comments, I have not had this experience. Leanne has been very supportive throughout my journey, and I would absolutely do more courses with the DTC in the future. Clair has also been very supportive and runs the coaching calls very professionally and is a wealth of knowledge. I am looking forward to my next course next which starts in a few weeks, and hope DTC keeps up the good work. Love HS

It appears I have been blocked by The Dog Training College...I know I'm shocked it took so long too. Anyway for anyone that wants to know why ⬇️

For anyone that's not from the dog world I know you won't care but welcome to the drama of a highly unethical company

I would like to clarify that I have not verbally attacked anyone, nor would I. What I am, however, is a strong advocate for truth, transparency, and ethical conduct.

Some of my comments have been deleted despite containing factual information. For example, DTC continues to advertise staff members who are no longer with the organisation and using them to get more students on board, and when those former staff have raised this directly with DTC, they were also blocked.

I have also read DTC’s recent response to the concerns raised. Unfortunately, it was deeply disheartening. In one statement, they claim to be unaware of speculation, yet in the same breath they refer to “fake news.” That contradiction alone demonstrates awareness of the concerns being shared.

Everything I have posted or commented on is verified and factual. I do not engage in gossip. If I share information, it is because I have evidence. Much of what I reference is already a matter of public record. For instance:

Companies House documents show company debts and the names directors are CURRENTLY using. - (£800k owed to HMRC if you were wondering.)

Court appearances, convictions, or incarcerations are also a matter of record.

Another undeniable fact is that three out of four mentors have left in the last two months, citing non-payment as the reason. This is not typical staff turnover. These individuals repeatedly requested payment, reached the end of their patience, and ultimately stepped away. One mentor even posted publicly, asking to be paid after being ignored via email, text, and WhatsApp. Instead of addressing the issue, DTC deleted the post and blocked the individual. This is neither transparent nor ethical; it indicates serious problems within the organisation.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering continued involvement with Dog Training College to do their due diligence and verify the facts for themselves. The absence of clear responses to these concerns is unprofessional. Last weeks survey, rather than showing accountability, appeared more like an attempt to deflect criticism and quieten voices. Realistically, the organisation does not have the staff to process those responses meaningfully.

The solution, however, is very simple:

Pay the people who have already contributed.

Pay the trainers who delivered Practical Weekends.

Pay the individuals who supported social media and worked behind the scenes.

Pay the mentors who dedicated their time, energy, and expertise to building the Dog Training College. Without mentors, there is no DTC.

Become an honest, transparent and ethical company which is what you actually claim to be.

While many of these individuals may technically be freelancers, I can only speak for myself: the reason I remained with DTC was because of the mentors. Their knowledge, guidance, and support through coaching calls and trainer support calls gave true value to the programme. Without them, the foundation of DTC has effectively collapsed.

I will say that this is aimed at the directors Leanne McWade and Reuben Poll and not at any of the other staff that I have met who have all been absolutely bloody fantastic.

It's been a much more personal experience than I thought I would get from an online course. All of the course leaders and staff are so helpful and the community pages on their website and Facebook are great for connecting with the team and other people doing the course.

I’ve only just started my course but so far I can say it’s been a very positive experience. Ran by passionate and extremely helpful and supportive people. I’m learning quickly and enjoying using my new skills with my new rescue dog, I can’t wait to see where the course takes me.

I have been considering writing this review for a long time, and it appears the time has come. Yesterday, the DTC emailed asking for feedback, so I thought it was only fair to leave mine here for everyone to see — especially as feedback from myself and others, when given directly to the DTC, either goes unaddressed or is removed by their admins.

I was a proud member of the Dog Training College for over a year and genuinely loved my time as a student. I learned a lot — from the mentors, who provided all the real value. Sadly, three out of four mentors, along with several other DTC team members, have cut ties with the company within the last couple of months.

Here are a few of my personal complaints; many of my other grievances have been covered in recent negative reviews, and supporting information can be found on Companies House and Facebook:

Certificate and lanyard: Upon completing the DTCP, you are promised a certificate and lanyard. Mine never arrived. I was given multiple excuses, the most prominent being that they ‘couldn’t get the good paper’… for nine months?

Find a Dog Trainer account: Access was given after completion of the DTCP, but I lost it about a week later. Neither my email nor password are recognised, and my queries directly with DTC support were ignored.

Outdated information: Sections on breed-specific legislation (BSL) and canine first aid are now outdated, yet still appear in the main body of their dog trainer certification programme.

Lifetime membership support: As a lifetime member, you are promised two support calls per week, plus 24-hour vet and legal advice lines. In practice, there has only been one call per week — if that — in recent weeks. The legal advice line was cancelled without notifying members because ‘they kept asking for passwords,’ and no replacement was arranged.

Access to the DTC Vault and app: The app has been down countless times over the last couple of months, and members are encouraged to log in via their browser. However, the browser login doesn’t always work either — including today. The Vault is how you access everything else you’ve paid for as part of the membership. So at present, there are no advice lines, limited support calls, and limited access to the courses that were supposed to be included.

I’m not going to comment on unpaid staff, the Company Voluntary Arrangement, or other unethical practices by the higher-ups, but they do factor into my review.

This review comes from someone who genuinely valued the mentors and the learning experience. It is deeply upsetting that it has come to this, but if my words stop even one person from wasting their money, then it will have been worth it.

My experience with the Dog Training College so far has been wonderful. The people have been very helpful on every step of the process so far.

I can’t stay quiet about Dog Training College. There’s a clear pattern of mentors and staff not being paid for their work, and then being silenced when they raise concerns. Posts about non-payment have been deleted, people have been suspended from groups, and the members’ community has now been taken down entirely. This has happened to multiple people, not just one. This isn’t a one off mistake - this is a pattern of exploitation.

If this were any other industry, failing to pay staff and then censoring them would be considered a scandal. In dog training, it’s being swept under the rug by a company that still markets itself as a leader in “ethical” training. The hypocrisy is staggering.

My experience as a student was disappointing. Much of the content is just Leanne talking to the camera in a flat, unengaging way. The marketing promised course materials that never arrived. The only consistent contact was spammy sales emails.

Their sales tactics are manipulative, pressure-based, and shady. Constant countdowns, “prices go up tomorrow”, “only a few slots left”, “this offer will NEVER return” - and yet new “last chance” deals kept landing in my inbox week after week. When I queried one of these offers, I was told that there is no time limit as long as the course is available. They operate on manufactured urgency and false scarcity. Even with a membership you’re constantly upsold for events, workshops, and handbooks, with ever-increasing prices. They brag that their “framework” has supposedly given people “new cars, new homes, big holidays, and fancy wine fridges”. It reads more like an MLM scam than a professional training provider. Care for dogs is not at the forefront of this business.

This company exploits staff, misleads students, and manipulates buyers. That’s the culture. There are better, more credible training providers who respect their students, treat their staff fairly, and keep dogs at the heart of their work - I’d strongly recommend Canine Principles and Transform Behaviour.

So far, those at the dog training college could not have been more supportive. And everything has been so plain sailing up until now, I have very high hopes for this course. Its a pleasure to be a part of.

Trying to get hold of DTC, phone line is now disconnected. No emails being replied to. Paid for a workshop which I’m assuming isn’t going ahead. Maybe they are closing down? please beware if booking something with them. I have paid out a lot of money to them with no feedback on a refund. I have given them chances but they have decided to not engage with me.
