Awful after-sales experience
My experience with this store has been very disappointing.
Since I decided to return my order, problems started immediately. I had to cover the shipping costs myself to send the package back for a refund. I exercised my right of withdrawal within 14 days as provided by EU law, but I was not refunded the full amount I paid: they withheld the VAT, even though EU regulations clearly require a full refund. Customer service replied that they “cannot” refund VAT due to internal reasons, leaving me with a partial refund.
A trustworthy company should respect consumer rights, not pass its internal issues onto the customer. I will not buy from them again and I strongly advise others to avoid this site.

As we explained in our direct correspondence, the Value Added Tax (VAT) on orders shipped to the EU is generally non-refundable due to the Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipment method we use as a UK-based company post-Brexit. This is standard to ensure that your package clears customs smoothly without unexpected charges on arrival, but it means the VAT is remitted to the EU Customs Authorities immediately and cannot be reclaimed by us upon return.
To address your concerns fully and as a gesture of goodwill, we offered you a partial refund of the VAT amount, which we are pleased to confirm you accepted. The refund was promptly processed and should reflect in your account by now.

Amazing support, GPD Win Max 2 2025
I recently bought a GPD Win Max 2 2025. Once it came i wanted to try it with an external gpu and after searching the internet instead of asking support, i stupidly "updated" the bios to an older version bricking my laptop. After i bricked my laptop i tried to open it and fix it myself with the assistance of support staff member Jack (discord name). After a few failed attempts i updated him on the situation and he was kind enough to RMA my laptop at no cost, all i had to pay was the transport... after opening it and desoldering the bios chip THEY STILL WARRANTIED IT! They also sent a screen protector for free. I've never seen a company do that... usually warranty is void if you unscrew half a screw. I bought this laptop because of all the good reviews and good support reviews.
They not only live up to them but go above and beyond!
The laptop has been performing awesomely, paired with a 7900xtx it is a beast and it is now my main driver for games and work. I opted for the sim slot which came with a second back cover, and i basically have unlimited internet (amazing feature). on it. The whole thing, laptop and support is a 10/10 experience!

Droix making GPD a serious professional tool
There was a slight delay with the shipment of the Pocket 4 but when asked there was clear communication about what I could expect. I feel that with these UMPCs there is an extra layer that is necessary for those individuals that want to use these devices as real computers and for work. They need to be warrantied and repairable. GPD has been doing better with this than other UMPC companies. With Framework showing that it is profitable to be make repairable and durable products it is good to see GPD trying to go in this direction as well. It will pay off well for them.
