Order 6 days late, cancelling and refund an utter nightmare

Order has still not arrived 6 DAYS after it should have arrived in store.
Phoned customer service and got told problem at warehouse wait another 2 days.
Did that and still nothing.
Phoned again and cancelled order.
Hours later and order still not showing as cancelled in my account and no hint of refund process being started despite asking customer service for an email confirming refund.

All they said was "soon, soon" and unbelievably the refund would take 14 days !!!

WOW WOW WOW How backward is George customer service and no wonder ASDA are in so much trouble !

Will NEVER SHOP AT GEORGE.COM again

EDIT : Still no emails of cancellation or refund.
Other reviews are full of George customer service lying about orders being cancelled and refunds on there way whereas clearly they are not cancelling the order hoping the parcel turns up !
Paypal would instantly send me a refund email but i have received nothing so Asda/George customer service have just outright lied to me.
Started a paypal dispute and escalated it immediately.
Hope your proud of your despicable customer service.

UPDATE : Phoned again 2 days later and customer service confirmed the order HAD NOT BEEN CANCELLED !!!

Wow what deception and lies Asda George customer service tell their customers !
This time the gift card was refunded to a george e voucher but the promised paypal refund has still not started as i have not had any word from paypal despite that supposedly being actioned.

SAD SAD company no wonder they are in such a mess, they have certainly lost our business and we have spent easily over £50 thousand over the years at George and Asda.

Absolutely disgusted with the lack of…

Absolutely disgusted with the lack of organization from a company this large! Did a rather large order as of late and why the majority of things showed up when promised I still had a few outstanding items that despite being told they would all arrive on the same day . These outstanding items consisted of bedding for my autistic brother. He had been absolutely euphoric that he was getting a new bedding so it would finally match his new room . His bed had been stripped ready for the new things to go on as soon as we collected them - that however never ended up being the case. Going to school with a heavy heart and lack of sleep from sensory overload of the fact his bedding had no covers he carried on with a promise that we should be able to get it today. My parents were frantically on the phone as soon as the helpline opened , however it was no help the person on the phone only told them what they could see on the screen. We have just had a notification saying it was there and my dad went for it straight away . My younger brother was excited once again only to be let down when it turned out the company had lied and the parcel had not arrived at click and collect - it was nowhere to be found . This is not the first time this has happened , parcels that have been disappearing and it feels like a war trying to get a refund for them .

Absolutely awful service from the start

Absolutely awful service from start to finish. Ordered two bedside tables both arrived dented and with drawers that didn't line up properly. Spoke to customer service about an exchange for both I waited on two separate occasions for yodel collections a few days apart and nobody came to collect. They organised another collection at this point I advised them I would like a full refund as I was not happy at the service I was receiving .Yodel collected both bedside tables on the third organised collection and delivered them back to George 8/6/2026 and I have only been refunded for one of the bedside tables. I am now trying to get the rest of my money back. Would not recommend ordering from them online at all.

Constant delivery issues

George at Asda's delivery for click & collect is just not fit for purpose. Why allow you to choose the collection day but not actually deliver the item to the store. No email or communication to say it is delayed, and customer service unable to help as they don't know what is happening with the order.

Never arrive

The pick up in store orders never arrive, or I am not sent a text to be told they are ready for pick up.

The returns process is even worse, always check your return update as often items are missed and you are charged for them.

I used to order lots but it's time to order elsewhere as far too many issues.

Loyalty does not count

Have been a loyal customer with Asda George for many years but for some reason i am locked out of my account. Have done all that was advised took days to get a customer service representative to talk to explained and she was transfering to Tech support i asked to be notified this was at least 10 days ago still have had no response. This is a disgraceful way to treat a good customer what a shambles George has become they are quick to take my money in Asda groceries. I cant understand it . Useless

Very disappointed service.

I had ordered an item and the date I had chosen to collect was for Monday but it keeps showing it's on the way.
From this day I kept trying to contact Asda the only option they had was the ai customer service which was no help or the number. I tried to the number after been redirected on the voice machine it just went silent no response.
I had then contacted Asda george on Facebook about the whereabouts of my item. I was told by customer service that it had arrived the day before (today is thursday) and is ready to collect.
I went after work to collect the item. At the store, staff were not helpful. Finally found the machine and says it has still not arrived.

Very disappointed service.

DEFINITELY WILL NOT PURCHASE AGAIN.

No organisation or website is down.

Worst Customer Service

Ordered some clothes for our upcoming holiday for my toddler. Sent notification that order was ready for collection (1 Parcel). When collected out of the 10 t shirts, 10 shorts and 2 swimming outfits only one t shirt was in the package. Told to come back as parcel now split in two. Nothing at collection point. Rang up and said it was an issue with the courier which was Evri (no suprise there then). Told to cancel my order and reorder when my refund comes. Waited a week and no refund. Rang up again and told the original guy I spoke to hadn’t put the refund thru. Guy said he was sorry and he had done the refund now, told it would be in my account in 24 hours. Waited 24 hours still no refund. Rang again only to be told that no refund is processed in 24 hours and it will be 3-5 days. No one in this service centre has a clue what they are doing, absolutley shambolic

My item has been in transit 18 days…

My item has been in transit 18 days now. Tried to contact by phone but they keep cutting off before can speak to anybody and tried to contact using messenger just as pointless said they would make it right asked me to confirm item despite already having all the information then nothing back so left in limbo. Just want the issue sorted.

Same problem twice in a row.

I ordered a jacket that explicitly comes with a travel bag. It arrived without a travel bag - even though travel bag was specified as included on the order documents and on the description on the website. I was advised to return the jacket and request a replacement. I did as requested and waited. Guess what arrived. The same thing, jacket and no travel bag. I was then told by a customer service rep that the jacket doesn't come with a travel bag. I pointed out that both the description of the item specifics on the website and the description on my order documents specifically say "with travel bag". So two attempts and they still havn't sent me what I ordered and paid for. I dont think I will be ordering anything from them again.

Appalling service

Sadly had to give one star but it's not deserved. I ordered 2 lamps which were due to be collected from the store on Friday last. The lamps are showing as still being in transit, however Evri said they delivered the lamps to the store at 7pm on Friday and that I collected them at 7.30. Definitely wasn't me who collected them. I phoned customer services on Saturday who contacted the store and apparently I have to wait until CCTV is checked before a refund can be issued. I travelled to the store yesterday and nobody knew anything about it. Called customer services again this morning and apparently they have to request a cancellation first before I can have a refund. This will take 48 to 72 hours. Totally unacceptable. I will never use George again which is such a shame to see yet another previously good store destroying it's reputation with poor customer service.

Shockingly poor service in Hitchin

Shockingly poor service in Hitchin. Ordered online. Wasted an hour plus petrol for staff to rummage through disorganised boxes (their admission) without finding my order. Surprisingly received refund although I would have preferred my order! Never setting foot in ASDA again.

Click & Collect

Honestly love the clothes but since they've brought in EVRI, it's completely messed up the deliveries and click & collect service. Chose days to collect, don't get an email or text, then get one about a delay for one and nothing for the other. Then the one I ordered last arrives before the one I ordered first with no message for the first one. What is going ASDA?!!!

Unsatisfactory delivery service

Ordered3 Scoville pans on 30 May. Confirmation email stated collection after 5.00pm on 2 June. Went to Basildon on 3June and dropped by Eastgate Asda to check if it was ready. No and was reminded that I will get a text and email to confirm delivery. Today is 5 June and all tracking status stated “it’s on the way.” So waiting patiently to make another car journey to Basildon to collect in the unknown future. This was the first purchase from Asda George online and will definitely be the last!
Update. Soon after my review was posted I received email and text from Asda that package was ready for collection. Let’s say coincidence. When I opened the tatty large box I was surprised at the lack of protection in the wrapping and packaging of the 3 pans I ordered. On examination one pot had either a warp cover or the pan was warped. The pan had a part missing on the handle. This is clearly a case of lack of customer care in selecting and packaging my order. It’s too much of a hassle to return or exchange because I will have to make 2 additional trips to the store in the next town. Petrol is expensive. As stated earlier I will not be using Asda George online anymore. This was my first and last purchase. Management and staff of Asda George need to wake up to customer care and service.

next day delivery was cancelled at the…

next day delivery was cancelled at the last minute. when it got here, item was defective and now needs to be returned. have been waiting for the courier to pick it up (was meant to be here by 4pm and I am still waiting...), no communication whatsoever. fingers crossed for the refund once they get the item back. ... will never buy from them again
