Concern about the handling and communication of my GreatCover travel insurance claim
I am disappointed with my experience following a medical expenses claim under my GreatCover travel insurance policy.
My claim and all supporting documents were submitted on 20 July 2026. Gallagher Bassett, which is handling the claim, confirmed on 23 July that my claim form and supporting documents had been forwarded to the relevant department. I subsequently received my claim acknowledgement and claim reference number.
After waiting more than 15 working days, I contacted Gallagher Bassett in writing to request an update. I later sent a further written follow-up after receiving no substantive response. Apart from automatic acknowledgements, I have still received no meaningful update.
As of 11 September 2026, I have not been informed whether my claim has been allocated to a claims handler, whether anything further is required from me, or when I can reasonably expect the assessment to be completed.
I appreciate that claims can take time to process. My concern is primarily the lack of communication and the absence of any substantive response to repeated written enquiries.
As a GreatCover policyholder, I would expect the claims process associated with my policy to provide a reasonable level of communication and customer service.
I hope GreatCover will take this feedback seriously and review the way claims handled by its claims administrator are communicated to policyholders.
